Ying Chen, a Certain Way of Being in Languages
ABSTRACT: The language history of Ying Chen, a multilingual and itinerant French-speaking writer presents a certain way of being to languages. It reveals an inclusive approach to the appropriation of languages, a vision that brings together linguistic mobility and spatial mobility, new passages between languages and everyday life, between languages and writing. Through a selected corpus of the author’s texts, I want to show how the analysis of her language path can help to shed light on the processes of access to foreign languages with their

Abstract:
AbstractMobility is associated with well-being, and an age-inclusive transport system is a prerequisite for satisfactory mobility throughout the life course. Yet a transport system – including the physical characteristics of environments, planning processes, design, and policies – involves more than allowing people and goods to move from one location to another. Rather, it is an arena of everyday life, related not only to direct service accessibility but also to wider social inclusion. If the structures surrounding late life transport mobility can match the changing needs of older adults in a changing society, they have the potential for supporting good ageing and social inclusion. Accessibility problems can be targeted through single-domain interventions, such as online shopping, telemedicine and care at home. However, targeting the loss of social inclusion caused by lack of transportation requires a broader understanding of transport as a social structure. This chapter reviews the scholarship on the links between transport mobility, well-being and social inclusion or exclusion. To demonstrate the mismatch between individual aspirations and surrounding structures, it revisits the concept of “structural lag” from the transport perspective. It also gives an overview of knowledge gaps related to transport and social inclusion or exclusion in late life.

Abstract Urban planning, either from a city or regional perspective, includes the study of land use, mobility, and transport, both of people, goods and services. In recent years, new shared service solutions have been considered to improve transport and mobility by reducing the share of privately owned vehicles. Shared solutions are also seen as a desired solution for urban planning in creating more sustainable neighbourhoods. This paper presents a study designed to map the relationship between urban planning approaches that aim to stimulate shared and active mobility and travel and shopping habits. The findings highlight that introducing several measures to stimulate more sustainable mobility had positive effects, such as reduced car ownership, and as such it should be considered when designing future urban spaces. Abstract:
AbstractSince Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, brutal military operations, and Russia’s terrorist missile attacks on territory in Ukraine, tens of thousands of Ukrainians have partially or completely lost their mobility. Today, many military and civilian individuals have suffered wounds, concussions, and injuries, requiring support and learning to live with ongoing disabilities. At least 2 million Ukrainians face challenges of social inclusion. Ukraine's social sphere is directly focused on the development of an inclusive society aiding people with war-related physical limitations and safe refuges in isolation. Social adaptation and orientation for people with disabilities are crucial at both local and provincial levels. Considering the high level of digitalization in Ukraine, the use of digital media tools to ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all areas of everyday life is incredibly effective. One of these tools can be an interactive map of inclusion, which is divided into an online platform (mobile app), where in one place all the information about inclusive spaces in the country will be collected. A place where an inclusive infrastructure has already been created. Digital media tools play a vital role in securing accessible and inclusive coverage. Improvements in digital materials and special locations can be achieved through cooperation between public and private sectors.

AbstractWith a shift towards the digitisation of mobility services, user involvement is vital for success. Especially critical is the inclusion of groups vulnerable to exclusion, so they can equally benefit from such services. In this respect, the Inclusive Digital Mobility Solutions (INDIMO) project established a multidisciplinary perspective on digital mobility services by considering the needs and concerns of vulnerable-to exclusion groups such as those who lack digital skills, belong to an ethnic minority or have reduced mobility.Using data collection methods such as interviews and surveys targeted at vulnerable persons in five pilot locations, we collected information about user needs, intentions and preferences when using a digital mobility service. In this paper, we provide insights into the user recruitment process for this study and share tips for working with groups vulnerable to exclusion. To achieve this policy recommendation, we propose the following: (1) Encourage and provide resources for experimentation with new technologies that enable local community participation in urban transport planning; (2) Recognize the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist in complex urban transport planning decisions; (3) Acknowledge that AI is embedded in society, instead of treating it as a neutral technology; and (4) Foster community engagement in transport planning and evaluation, via a Civic AI framework that directly integrates preferences and feedback into planning.

With the development of exchange mechanisms, periods of mobility abroad have become frequent, sometimes unavoidable, in the school curriculum of a student. Taking the form of semesters of study in a foreign university or work placements for higher education students, the skills acquired during these immersion phases, both linguistically and technically, and in terms of know-how, are undeniable and valued by numerous research works. The paper aims at presenting a conceptual framework integrating a Service Quality Assessment Concept in a methodological approach towards inclusive, safe, sustainable, and resilient transport systems to accommodate everyone’s mobility needs. Despite the improvement of public transport systems around the world, many users perceive: 1. Poor accessibility in most public transport systems; 2. Existence of physical barriers to free mobility in urban walking areas; 3. Increasing frequency of unexpected incidences as new norm in this 21st century (floods, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, pandemics, et

Mobility limitations in popular neighbourhoods are mainly related to the availability of adquate physical infrastructure. However, it is important to recognise that these limitations extend beyond infrastructure, and involve socio-economic conditions, daily life routines, people's rights and responsibilities, as well as multiple dimensions of identity. The most significant accessibility challenges to mobility infrastructure are faced by the population with functional diversity and people engaged in caregiving activities, predominantly women.
