A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of wireless nodes, all of which may be mobile, that dynamically create a wireless network amongst them without using any infrastructure. HMIPv6 utilizes a Mobility Anchor Point(MAP) to reduce the considerable number of Mobile IPv6 Binding Update messages(BU) among the MN, Correspondent Nodes(CN), and its Home Agent(HA). It achieves a faster handover time. HMIPv6 is especially effective in a wide area network having a multilevel hierarchy.
