A key development in recent criticism and the historical study of modernism is the steady increase in the number, complexity, and specificity of narratives about modernism’s development. Moreover, a certain historiographic ‘constructivism’ has become necessary to account for and mediate between overlapping, complementary, and somewhat contradictory histories of modernis

Abstract:
This chapter examines the importance of nanotechnology in cancer prevention, cure, and diagnosis. This chapter deals with the applications of nanomedicine in cancer and various strategies to target cancer cells by using nanotechnology such as gold nanoparticles, liposomes, nanodots, nanorods, etc. Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary area with potential applications in fighting many diseases including cancer. Conventional drugs have poor cell specificity, solubility, and high toxicity. The continued development of cancer nanotechnology holds the promise for personalized oncology. For accurate and self-confirming cancer diagnosis, it is essential to combine dual-mode and multi-mode imaging functionalities within one nanoparticle system. Nanoparticles improve the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs and prolong the half-life of drugs. Disadvantages of nanotechnology include the potential for mass poisoning. Understanding how nano-materials affect live cell functions, controlling such effects, and using them for disease therapeutics are now the principal aims and most challenging aspects of nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine.

Abstract:
This essay focuses on the inherent globality of anticaste thought, and underscores the significance of historical comparison (race, class, minority) in the writings of key thinkers who predicated radical equality on the annihilation of caste. The essay argues against culturalizing caste, which has been the dominant mode for apprehending its social specificity, and instead argues that efforts at political commensuration offer key instances for understanding heterodox histories and practices of subject formation. By placing anticaste thought within a global field of concern about historic dispossession and human emancipation, the essay also addresses the politics of the twentieth century through a genealogy of the exceptional subject, e.g., the Dalit [outcaste] or the remainder, and argues that this offers rich possibilities for enlarging the conceptual matrix of “politics” and political subjectivity.

Markov, Alexander V. "The “estate text” in the poetry of the Soviet “Sixtiers”: E.A. Evtushenko, A.A. Voznesensky, B.A. Akhmadulina." In Russian Estate in the World Context. A.M. Gorky Institute of World literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.22455/978-5-9208-0627-7-283-295.

Abstract:
The article discusses the reasons for referring to the estate text of the poets-“sixtiers”. It is proved that it could not be caused by simple historical interest, but was caused by the crisis of poetics, at the same time the exhaustion of its resources and the inability to embed another existential trial in the inherited resource of existential experience. Then the estate turns out to be a place of remembrance, where nature can be indistinguishable from culture, and in this indistinguishability a drift is possible from simple and routine forms of the “sixtiers” poetry to more complex ones. The specificity of the estate in the poetry of the three leading Russian poets of the sixties, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Andrei Voznesensky and Bella Akhmadulina, is characterized, and it is shown that although the reasons for addressing the estate theme were different, the results, such as dialogue with tradition and updated author’s identity, a new reflection mode, turned out to be the same. This allows us to clarify literary estates as a resource not only of cultural memory in literature, but also of innovations in poetics or of those intermedial combinations and unexpected allusions that lead to innovations that are not limited to the thematic side.
