Many (25%) minor burn patients fail to attend hospital review. Investigation of a novel streamlined model of care found that selected patients who were assessed with a mailed survey (the Burn Specific Health Scale – Brief) had a similar outcome to those that received standard care. Synthetic unit hydrographs, which assume uniform rainfall excess distribution and static watershed conditions, are frequently used to estimate hydrograph characteristics when observed data are unavailable.
