Abstract:
Abstract For complex and difficult geology, it is difficult to design right cutters for TBM in the conventional ways. So the successful experiences and data accumulated are very useful in TBM disc cutters design. CBR is a reasoning methodology that exploits similar experienced solutions, in the form of past cases, to solve new problems. This paper proposes an AHP-Based CBR model that overcomes the difficulty of measuring experience for determining the relative weight of attributes by the analytic hierarchy process. By comparing, the model using the analytic hierarchy process was more accurate, reliable, and explanatory for solving new problems using experience from previous cases.

Abstract:
The authors cast entrepreneurship as one of three career choices—remaining with one’s employer, changing employers, or engaging in entrepreneurship—and theorize how the likelihood of entrepreneurship evolves over one’s career. They empirically demonstrate an inverted U-shaped relationship between accumulated experience and entrepreneurship across various industries and jobs. The authors highlight the difficulty of inferring the mechanism underlying the observed relationship, despite detailed career history data and job displacement shocks that eliminate the current employer choice. These analyses motivate a formal career transitions model in which employer-specific and general skills accumulate with experience but potential employers observe only total skill. Results from the model presented here are that entrepreneurial career transitions vary with two relative costs: 1) the cost to an individual to form a business and 2) the cost to a potential employer to utilize the individual’s employer-specific skills. The authors discuss how this model contributes new insights into an entrepreneurial career.

Abstract:
This article deals with existing models of household behavior, based on the assumption of the possibility of employees to determine their own level of consumption and employment, depending on a given wage rate and accumulated assets. An alternative view is offered that the wage rate accepted by employees can be expressed through financial assets and employment. Based on this assumption, the model "financial assets – labor price" was developed, determining the impact of the volume of financial assets of households and the level of employment on the wage rate, the minimum acceptable for workers.
The model was tested in twelve European countries. The calculations confirmed the basic hypothesis of the study, namely the dependence of the level of wages on the volume of available assets and employment.

Abstract:
A research project was conducted to develop and validate an improved, analytical life prediction method for high-temperature turbine and valve studs/bolts. The life prediction method used the two-parameter creep equation, an incremental calculation procedure and a strain hardening flow rule. The failure criterion was an accumulated inelastic or creep strain limit of 1 percent. The life prediction procedure recommends the use of the service history of operating temperature, number/stress level of tightenings, cycle time, etc., to calculate the stress relaxation behavior. Life assessment uses the measured bolt length to calculate the accumulated creep strain. The link between the current condition, i.e., accumulated creep strain, and the remaining creep life, i.e., time to accumulate 1 percent strain, is obtained by a prediction of the future creep strain accumulation under the intended loading cycle(s) imposed during future operation. In order to validate the approach, the calculated results were compared to the results of uniaxial stress relaxation testing, bolt model testing, and service experience. The analytical procedure coupled with other industry wide NDE and measurement procedures is expected to provide broad guidelines to utilities for bolting life assessment.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the processes of decentralization of power in France. France is one of the few European countries that have accumulated considerable experience in the field of decentralization of public administration through the expansion of the powers and responsibilities of local governments.Assessing the vast experience of territorial reforms accumulated in France for almost three and a half decades, it should be noted that, despite the positive results (for example, in the field of local government development, intermunicipal cooperation, etc.), many important problems remained unresolved. Contrary to the expectations of the reformers, the administrative and territorial structure of the country did not become simpler and more understandable. The number of levels and types of territorial units has increased. To three historical levels (communes, departments and state) regions were added. It should be noted and one more direction of reforms in France. It is about increasing the role of cities in local development through the creation of inter-municipal associations, including cities and adjacent territories. Also, after analyzing the process of decentralization in France, it is useful to point out that in our opinion decentralization should be considered as a powerful instrument of public administration, the key task of which is not to redistribute power between the state and the administrative units, but to redistribute the powers between them for the provision of various public services to the population. and different legal entities in the most effective way (convergence of services with simultaneous saving of budget expenditures), in order to create conditions for dynamic the flow of communities and the state as a whole. The construction of a decentralization model in Ukraine may have its own national peculiarities, but the use of examples of foreign good practices is a significant factor in the search for a Ukrainian model of development, therefore, in today’s world, the use of international experience regarding quality and efficient decentralization becomes relevant.

Abstract:
Within the historiography of early modern science, trust and credibility have become synonymous with genteel identity. While we should not overlook the cultural values attached to social hierarchy and how it shaped the credibility of knowledge claims, this has limitations when thinking about how contemporaries regarded the origins of that knowledge and its location in different types of workers and skillsets. Using the example of seamen in the circles of the Royal Society, this article employs the category of experience, and by extension expertise, to illustrate how recognized forms of knowledge and skill acted as routes to credibility and authority in early modern science. It argues that, within the experimental community, the seaman’s authority derived from their direct experience of novel and remote phenomena and the cumulative effect of their wider experience. The accumulated experience they acquired from frequent practice, observation, and exposure translated into a form of “expertness” that rendered seamen trustworthy and credible observers and thinkers. The gentlemanly trust model does not accommodate nor acknowledge the ways the seaman’s direct and accumulated experience (and that of many other professional groups) were recognized and valued in inquiry and discourse. The article therefore sets out a new model for understanding trust, credibility, and authority in early modern science that can take us beyond a restrictive mono-model that locates trust in one sociocultural category to highlight the multiple, and sometimes competing, claims to epistemological authority.

The article substantiates the necessity and possibility of using it in the digital agricultural economy as one so far underestimated object of its development: scaling the results of positive experience in organizing agricultural production using traditional long-used technologies (past experience). On the example of a simple design model of production costs, a methodological scheme for selecting potential participants for the exchange of positive results of their experience in organizing agricultural production is shown. Among the main problems hindering the wide dissemination of positive experience in the organization of agricultural production, one should consider the lack of the necessary motivation in the conditions of market relations for the exchange of positive results of the experience accumulated by agricultural producers.

Abstract:
AbstractThis paper deals with experience rating of claims processes of ARIMA structures. By experience rating we mean that future premiums should be only a function of past values of the claims process. The main emphasis is on demonstrating the usefulness of the control-theoretical approach in the search for optimal rating rules. Optimality is here defined to mean as smooth a flow of premiums as possible when the variation in the accumulated profit is restricted to a certain amount. First it is shown how the underlying model in its simplest form can be transformed into the state-space form. Then the Kalman filter technique is used to find the optimal rules. Also a time delay in information is taken into account. The optimal rules are illustrated by examples.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to investigate accumulated experience with water safety plans in one of the first countries to adopt systematic preventive management for drinking-water safety. Water utilities in Iceland have had a legal obligation since 1995 to implement a systematic preventive approach to secure safety of drinking water and protect public health. The water utilities responded by implementing either an adapted HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) model for larger water utilities or a simpler five step model for smaller water utilities. The research was carried out at 16 water utilities that serve about two-thirds of the population of Iceland. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used with the aim of analysing if and what benefits water safety plans bring for water utilities and what is needed for successful implementation and operation of such systems. The results of the study show that numerous benefits and even the process of going through the implementing process were considered to be of advantage and change the attitude of the staff and the utility culture. Some obstacles and shortcomings came to light, such as lack of documentation and lack of regular internal and external audit. There was little communication with the public, although some mentioned that good public relations are important to succeed with water safety plans. Many important elements of success were revealed of which intensive training of staff and participation of staff in the whole process are deemed the most important. It is also important to have simple and well-structured guidelines, and good cooperation with the health authorities.

The main goal of the problem presented in the paper is to show the student's model emerging from the teachers’ narratives in reference to a category of childhood revealed during their analysis and interpretations. Retrospective return of teachers, who participated in the research, to this period is associated with the recall of experiences they had both at home and at school. Following Pierre Bourdieu, it is assumed that the passive side of human habitus is hidden in the experiences accumulated as a structured one and simultaneously a structuring pattern of action and perception. Analysing the teachers’ educational experience from childhood, I decided to undertake an attempt to expose them and indicate the way in which they build their educational activities (within some spheres revealed) and the manner they look at a student and what her/his image they "paint" in their narratives.

Abstract:
Learning by experience in Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) is a difficult and exciting task, due to the lack of stationarity of the environment, whose dynamics evolves as the population learns. In order to design scalable algorithms for systems with a large population of interacting agents (e.g., swarms), this paper focuses on Mean Field MAS, where the number of agents is asymptotically infinite. Recently, a very active burgeoning field studies the effects of diverse reinforcement learning algorithms for agents with no prior information on a stationary Mean Field Game (MFG) and learn their policy through repeated experience. We adopt a high perspective on this problem and analyze in full generality the convergence of a fictitious iterative scheme using any single agent learning algorithm at each step. We quantify the quality of the computed approximate Nash equilibrium, in terms of the accumulated errors arising at each learning iteration step. Notably, we show for the first time convergence of model free learning algorithms towards non-stationary MFG equilibria, relying only on classical assumptions on the MFG dynamics. We illustrate our theoretical results with a numerical experiment in a continuous action-space environment, where the approximate best response of the iterative fictitious play scheme is computed with a deep RL algorithm.

Abstract:
Introduction: Mentorship is an essential component of professional development and benefits include increased career satisfaction, scholarship, and efficiency of academic promotion. The Mastermind group, a collaborative, network-based model for mentorship has gained popularity in the business world. It comprises of a group of colleagues that provide mentorship and career advice for each other through regularly scheduled meetings. The group benefits from the combined intelligence and accumulated experience of the participants, who may be at different career stages. Methods: Academic Life in Emergency Medicine (ALiEM; www.aliem.com), a digital health professions education organization, conducted two Mastermind groups for 14 team members in 2017. The groups included all levels of academic rank from full professor to instructors, and represented 14 different medical schools in North America. Each Mastermind group completed a self-assessment summarizing their professional strengths and weaknesses, two homework assignments, and two 90-minute videoconference meetings, using a structured, moderator-facilitated format. Meetings were conducted on Google Hangouts on Air© (Google Inc.). In the initial group meeting, participants discussed their self-assessments, current projects, and career challenges. The second meeting allowed discussion of suggested professional development resources for each participant, actionable next steps, and an accountability timeline for each participant. The free, cloud-based platforms and voluntary basis for the Mastermind groups resulted in a zero-cost innovation. Results: In a post-intervention survey, the 14 participants rated the experience as 9.4/10 (response rate 100%) using a Likert scale. In a quasi-experimental analysis participants cited the need for career advice or assistance with a project as their reason for participating. Participants received specific resource recommendations during the sessions, including books, training courses, or conferences. Contacts outside the group for additional mentorship were made possible given the breadth of networks among the participants. All participants had at least one identifiable next step with accountability to the group. Overall, the participants described a synergy of energy, commitment to one anothers longitudinal success, and benefit from the diverse range of talent and expertise in the group. Many of the members discussed plans to replicate this mentorship model at their own institutions. Conclusion: Our experiences suggest that the Mastermind conceptual framework is an easily replicated, feasible, zero-cost, and effective model for professional development. Though the model was originally proposed as a method for in-person discussions, we report a more modern, online experience for professional development in our diverse, globally-distributed team.

Abstract. Owing to the changes in product requirements and development of new tool technology, traditional tool selection approach based on the human experience is leading to time-consuming and low efficiency. Under the cooperation of historical data resource accumulated by manufacturing enterprises, with human expert resource, a new tool selection mechanism can be established. In this paper, we apply transfer learning to tool selection issue. Starting from the foundation of migration, we showed a unified expression of expert experience and process case in a multi-source heterogeneous environment. Then, we propose a transfer learning algorithm (TLrAdaBoost) based on AdaBoost, which uses a small amount of target domain data (expert experience sample) and a large number of source domain low-quality data (process case sample), to build a high-quality classification model. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:
In light of insufficient traditional methods of funding of entrepreneurial projects and ventures in Lebanon, crowdfunding is proposed as an alternative funding mechanism. Crowdfunding is a way for entrepreneurs to fund their projects via dedicated online platforms where the needed capital is accumulated from small contributions from a large number of interested individuals: the crowd. Since the people are at the center, it is vital to address their attitudes toward participating as funders. For this aim, the researcher derives from previous studies and the present literature a conceptual framework that proposes to explain what impacts attitudes toward participating as funders in crowdfunding. The model is tested via a questionnaire targeted to 457 workers located in the four main regions of Lebanon. Results of the statistical analysis confirmed the proposed model and confirmed 3 out of 4 of the hypotheses pertaining to the variables (enthusiasm, trust, and experience) and gave insights concerning awareness, understanding, and attitudes regarding crowdfunding in Lebanon. The study provides recommendations for improvement of the status of crowdfunding in Lebanon for the benefit of entrepreneurs, SMEs, and the economy.

Abstract Heslenfeld, P., and Enserink, E. L. 2008. OSPAR Ecological Quality Objectives: the utility of health indicators for the North Sea. – ICES Journal of Marine Science, 65: 1392–1397. Committed to the ecosystem approach to management, OSPAR has accumulated 15 years of experience in developing a conceptual framework for ecological indicators and objectives, and in applying the framework to the North Sea as a test case. These Ecological Quality Objectives (EcoQOs) have become a model for the implementation of the new European Marine Strategy Framework Directive. We describe the history of EcoQO development, its current status, and future needs. We also present our positive and negative experiences in developing the approach, and conclude that regional sea conventions and marine research institutes in Europe should join forces to accelerate the development of ecosystem indicators and objectives, using existing concepts.

This article lays out the elementary logic of age structures in party preference data and proposes a simple estimation model with demographic and historical elements. As voters age their preferences intensify. But they do not intensify much and generational differences in the direction of party preferences are correspondingly weak. The Canadian electorate does not seem all that strongly anchored by the accumulated experience of the individuals that make it up. The major source of long-term electoral change, therefore, is conversion in the existing electorate. Consideration is given to how distinctive the Canadian pattern is.

Full Waveform Inversion in its traditional formulation is nothing else but finding the minimum of the objective functional, that characterizes L2 difference between acquired and simulated wave fields. The accumulated experience proves the necessity of the following conditions for correct recovery of the wave propagation velocity: • The presence of low time frequencies in the data; • Information about near surface structure of the media. We modify the traditional L2 objective functional on thy base of decomposition of the model space. This modification weakens the requirements for the presence of low time frequencies.

Abstract:
Asphalt endurance limit is a strain value if experienced by asphalt pavement layer, no accumulated damage will occur and is directly related to asphalt healing. Therefore, if the pavement experiences this value of strain, or lower, no fatigue damage would accumulate within that pavement section. Beam fatigue test data conducted under the NCHRP Project 9-44A were extracted and utilized to create an artificial neural network predictive model (ANN) to determine the endurance limit strain values for conventional asphalt concrete pavements. The developed ANN model architecture as well as how to utilize it to predict the endurance limit were demonstrated and discussed in detail. Also, a stand-alone equation that is capable in the prediction of the endurance limit strain value, separate from the ANN model environment, was derived utilizing the eclectic extraction approach. The model training and validation data included 934 beam fatigue laboratory data points, as extracted from NCHRP Project 9-44A report. The developed model was able to determine the endurance limit strain value as a function of the stiffness ratio, number of cycles to failure, initial stiffness and rest period, and had a reasonable coefficient of determination (R2) value, which indicates the reliability of both the developed ANN model and the stand-alone equation. Furthermore, a correlation between the endurance limit strain values, as predicted utilizing the generated regression model under the NCHRP project 944-A, and the endurance limit strain values predicted utilizing the stand-alone ANN derived equation was found with a high R2 value.

We model entrepreneurial learning as a calibrated algorithm of an iterated choice problem in which entrepreneurs learn by updating a subjective stock of knowledge accumulated on the basis of past experiences. Specifically, we argue that entrepreneurs repeat only those choices that appear most promising and discard the ones that resulted in failure. The contribution of the paper is twofold. First, we provide a structural model of entrepreneurial learning in which failure is as informative—though clearly not as desirable—as success. Second, to complement standard economic models in which agents are rational, we allow our entrepreneurs to have myopic foresight. Our entrepreneurs process information, make mistakes, update their decisional algorithms and, possibly, through this struggle, improve their performance.

Abstract:
As clinical experience with surgical techniques and immunosuppression in vascularized composite allotransplantation recipients has accumulated, vascularized composite allotransplantation for hand and face have become standard of care in some countries for select patients who have experienced catastrophic tissue loss. Experience to date suggests that clinical vascularized composite allotransplantation grafts undergo the same processes of allograft rejection as solid organ grafts. Nonetheless, there are some distinct differences, especially with respect to the immunologic influence of the skin and how the graft is affected by environmental and traumatic insults. Understanding the mechanisms around these similarities and differences has the potential to not only improve vascularized composite allotransplantation outcomes but also outcomes for all types of transplants and to contribute to our understanding of how complex systems of immunity and function work together. A distinct disadvantage in the study of upper extremity vascularized composite allotransplantation recipients is the low number of clinical transplants performed each year. As upper extremity transplantation is a quality of life rather than a lifesaving transplant, these numbers are not likely to increase significantly until the risks of systemic immunosuppression can be reduced. As such, experimental models of vascularized composite allotransplantation are essential to test hypotheses regarding unique characteristics of graft rejection and acceptance of vascularized composite allotransplantation allografts. Rat hind limb vascularized composite allotransplantation models have been widely used to address these questions and provide essential proof-of-concept findings which can then be extended to other experimental models, including mice and large animal models, as new concepts are translated to the clinic. Here, we review the large body of rat hind limb vascularized composite allotransplantation models in the literature, with a focus on the various surgical models that have been developed, contrasting the characteristics of the specific model and how they have been applied. We hope that this review will assist other researchers in choosing the most appropriate rat hind limb transplantation model for their scientific interests.

Abstract:
Adoption of multi- and many-core processors in real-time systems has so far been slowed down, if not totally barred, due do the difficulty in providing analytical real-time guarantees on worst-case execution times. The Predictable Execution Model (PREM) has been proposed to solve this problem, but its practical support requires significant code refactoring, a task better suited for a compilation tool chain than human programmers. Implementing a PREM compiler presents significant challenges to conform to PREM requirements, such as guaranteed upper bounds on memory footprint and the generation of efficient schedulable non-preemptive regions. This article presents a comprehensive description on how a PREM compiler can be implemented, based on several years of experience from the community. We provide accumulated insights on how to best balance conformance to real-time requirements and performance and present novel techniques that extend the applicability from simple benchmark suites to real-world applications. We show that code transformed by the PREM compiler enables timing predictable execution on modern commercial off-the-shelf hardware, providing novel insights on how PREM can protect 99.4% of memory accesses on random replacement policy caches at only 16% performance loss on benchmarks from the PolyBench benchmark suite. Finally, we show that the requirements imposed on the programming model are well-aligned with current coding guidelines for timing critical software, promoting easy adoption.

New government regulations effective with 01.09.2011 require that preschool teachers produce written reports to children's parents or guardians assessing their children upon graduation. So far preschool teachers had had little experience with similar written forms of assessment, and this creates questions regarding the assessment design and implementation. This work's aim was to theoretically evaluate the problems of preschool children's achievement assessment and analyze results of pedagogues' inquiry on potential ways of solving them. This article explores some of the more pressing questions, as well as the consequences of poor assessment design such as conflict with parents, mislabeling of children, affecting children's motivations, effect on teacher's and institution's reputation, additional workload, and resource consumption. Authors look at experience accumulated in other countries while tackling these issues and suggest using a dual evaluation model.

Abstract:
Maintenance dialysis is an expensive treatment modality for patients with end-stage renal-disease (ESRD). The number of patients on maintenance dialysis is rising rapidly and will reach 2.5 million globally by 2010. The predicted expenditure will be US$1 trillion. Since the 1960s, Hong Kong has faced financial restraints on the provision of dialysis. Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and automated peritoneal dialysis at home were found to be less expensive than in-centre chronic hemodialysis. The development of a “peritoneal dialysis first” (PD-First) policy has contributed significantly to a successful dialysis program in Hong Kong since 1960. Currently in Hong Kong, 80% of ESRD patients on maintenance dialysis are on PD, mainly CAPD; 20% are on hemodialysis. The success of the PD-First policy is a combination of accumulated experience of PD in each dialysis unit that has at least 200 CAPD patients under care and of impressive technique and patient survival rates for this modality. Concerted effort by government and charity organizations and commitment on the part of nephrologists and nursing staff to patient education are also important in making the PD program in Hong Kong a successful one.

Abstract:
A simple new crop model based on water balance concept for crop monitoring is developed. The main distinctive features of the model are use of two layer soil water balance, effectivity of precipitation, weekly assessment of water fulfillment of the crop and an index value in percentage accumulated during a season expressing performance of the crop. The maximum cumulative seasonal index value of 100 is apportioned equally into weeks required by a crop to complete the growth. Actual weekly contribution is evaluated on the basis of deficits and surplus experienced by a crop and value accumulated during a season is reached. The model is tested against actual observations in shifting sowing date experiment conducted on sorghum on the vertisols of Nagpur under monsoon conditions. The model has exhibited excellent correlation ship between yield and the total seasonal index value. The linear relationship between the two can be used to predict yields. The model can give better results in arid, semi-arid, and dry sub humid regions in rainfed agriculture under monsoon.

Abstract:
Purpose. In this study, the authors explore the role of museum visitors’ perceptions and experiences of authenticity. They introduce several variants of authenticity experience and analyse how they are intertwined and feed visitor satisfaction. Method. The authors apply a multi-step model fitting and validation procedure including inferred causation methods and finite mixture modelling to verify whether the visitors’ perceptions of authenticity are subject to unobserved heterogeneity. They elaborate an Authenticity Model that demonstrates out-of-sample validity and generalisability by being exposed to new data for another cultural attraction in another city. Then, they address the heterogeneity hypothesis and evaluate it for the case study with the larger sample. Findings. In both application cases, the Sisi museum in Vienna and the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, the empirical results support the assumed cause-effect sequence, translating high quality information display—from traditional and multimedia sources—into Perceived Authenticity and its experiential consequences such as Depth and Satisfaction. Accounting for unobserved heterogeneity detects three latent classes with segment-specific strength of relationships within the structural model. Research and conclusions limitations. The combined latent-class, structural-equation model needs validation with another sample that would have to be larger than the available Guinness database. Future studies will have to complement the purely data-driven search for heterogeneity with theory-guided reasoning about potential causes of diversity in the strength of the structural relationships. Practical implications. Cultural heritage sites are among the attractions most typical of city tourism. History tends to materialise in the artefacts accumulated by the population among the urban agglomerations, and museums are the natural places for preserving exhibits of cultural value. Authenticity must be considered an important quality assessment criterion for many visitors, whereby, the distinction between object authenticity and existential authenticity is crucial. Originality. In addition to making substantive contributions to authenticity theory, the authors also extend previous research in terms of methodological effort. Authenticity research, so far, has neither exploited inferred causation methods nor combined latent variable modelling with detecting unobserved heterogeneity. Type of paper: Research article.

Abstract:
Much experimental evidence suggests that during decision making, neural circuits accumulate evidence supporting alternative options. A computational model well describing this accumulation for choices between two options assumes that the brain integrates the log ratios of the likelihoods of the sensory inputs given the two options. Several models have been proposed for how neural circuits can learn these log-likelihood ratios from experience, but all of these models introduced novel and specially dedicated synaptic plasticity rules. Here we show that for a certain wide class of tasks, the log-likelihood ratios are approximately linearly proportional to the expected rewards for selecting actions. Therefore, a simple model based on standard reinforcement learning rules is able to estimate the log-likelihood ratios from experience and on each trial accumulate the log-likelihood ratios associated with presented stimuli while selecting an action. The simulations of the model replicate experimental data on both behavior and neural activity in tasks requiring accumulation of probabilistic cues. Our results suggest that there is no need for the brain to support dedicated plasticity rules, as the standard mechanisms proposed to describe reinforcement learning can enable the neural circuits to perform efficient probabilistic inference.

Abstract:
Drawing on data from a panel study of White women spanning 31 years, the analyses examine the influence of women’s employment on the gendered division of household labor. Multiple dimensions of women’s employment are investigated, including accumulated employment histories, current employment status, current employment hours, and relative income. Results from fixed effect and change score models suggest that the husbands of women who accumulate more employment experience over the course of marriage perform a relatively larger amount of routine housework than the husbands of women with shorter employment histories. Women’s employment status at a given point in time also increases men’s relative participation in routine housework, and the influence of women’s employment status operates in part by increasing women’s support for egalitarian roles between spouses. Finally, women’s hours of employment and relative income are stronger predictors of housework allocation than is their current employment status.

Abstract:
As the experience of developed countries has shown, the creation of an effective zero-waste economic model based on the principles of a circular economy is impossible without the competent management of production and consumption waste. The most important aspect in this case is the separate collection of waste by fractions, which reduces the cost of sorting and, as a result, increases the attractiveness of recyclables. The purpose of the study is to identify the main obstacles that the Russian Federation faces in carrying out the waste reform and creating a system for the separate collection of municipal solid waste. An analysis of the accumulated scientific and practical experience on this issue allows us to assert that the viability of separate waste collection as an economic model for handling them can hardly be contested. The feasibility and potential cost-effectiveness of separate collection is confirmed by studies conducted both in the context of the country as a whole and at the level of individual regions. Based on this, the author assumes that the problem of introducing separate waste collection is of an organizational and legal nature, in connection with which he analyzed the main theoretical and legal approaches to solving the issue. Having studied the empirical material accumulated by science, the author concludes that three main factors prevent separate waste collection, namely a low level of waste management culture among the population, an insufficient number of incentive mechanisms for the industry, and the existence of legal gaps and administrative barriers that prevent creation of infrastructure for separate collection and disposal of waste. The author considers the main aspects of these factors and suggests options for solving the identified problems.

Abstract:
The first known model of verbal communication was proposed by Aristotle in science, but this direction began to be develop actively only in the XX century. During the study of language as a form of the realization of VC researchers have built new and refined already known models: information, code, semiotic, performative, language and others. Thus, they completed the overall picture, but they did not explain the connection of all elements of VC as a single system, which generates an endangered result, as well as they did not take into account the entire composition of elements of VC, which includes consciousness, thinking and experience (knowledge and skills). However, the amount of accumulated scientific knowledge through the isolation and location of research does not give answers to the basic questions of philosophy of language, linguistics and psychology in understanding the connection of consciousness, thinking, experience (knowledge and skills) and language (as the second signalling system). The verbal communicative activity is polydimensional and multidimensional. It means that the presentation and study of it in a linear form is not enough. The proposed review of the models known to science and the reference to the systematic analysis of the components of the VC (linguistic (language), psychological, cognitive, intellectual, psychophysical, as well as social aspects of the personality of the communicant) provides the basis for developing a synergistic model of VC as a functional system that would show an interconnected link of the functioning of consciousness, thinking, experience (knowledge and skills) and language (second signalling system).

Accumulated experience in the development of financial markets confirms the importance of interrelations between the type of the chosen model of regulation and historically achieved “depth of financial structure”, as well as national institutional characteristics. Effective regulation model which takes into account these features became an indispensable condition for economic growth. The authors analyze patterns of development of regulation and supervision systems in the financial markets on a sample of 50 countries focusing on trends in integration of regulation and supervision. The calculations show that a new model of rigid integrated system of prudential supervision and regulation formed in RF on the basis of the Bank of Russia does not fully take into account the level of development of institutional investors and creates risks of excessive administrative pressure on non-bank financial institutions and competitive environment weakening. Solving these problems requires active effort on the part of government agencies and financial market participants.

Abstract:
Accumulated literature on technology adoption research has suggested that cultural factors have important impacts on the cognition and behavior of information systems users. In this paper, the authors argue that cultural factors should be treated as aggregate characteristics at the population level instead of personal attributes at the individual level. The authors also propose that theoretical models could be developed for specific cultural contexts when examining IT/IS user behavior. In this regard, a model for analyzing user attitude toward mandatory use of information systems is proposed. Drawing on generally recognized cultural characteristics of China, three factors are introduced as determinants of user attitude—leader support, technology experience, and perceived fit. An empirical study is conducted with regard to the acceptance of a mobile municipal administration system in Beijing, China, for validating the proposed model with survey data and analyzing the adoption mechanism of the target system. The moderating roles of gender, age, and education level on the model are explored by interaction effect analyses and the findings provide helpful insights for related studies in other cultural contexts.

It does so by framing the data and outcomes within the existing regulatory framework in Spain, a framework that very strongly conditions such participation. The text reviews the implications of the model of selective recognition of the right to vote (based on the voter’s nationality), and analyzes certain legal conditions steaming from the requirements of reciprocity, residence or previous census registration. The authors consider that the cumulative impact of those conditions is responsible for the very low electoral turnout in non-EU citizens participation. Lastly, the authors present some ideas to overcome such effect and make the most of the present model, at least until its replacement in municipal elections by a truly universal suffrage model.

Many refugees resettled in Western countries suffer from an accumulation of traumatic and current stressors that contribute to mental health problems and may complicate trauma-focused treatment. Consequently, the acceptability, safety, and efficacy of trauma-focused treatment with refugees have been a matter of clinical and scientific interest. In recent years, the evidence has accumulated for narrative exposure therapy and culturally adapted cognitive behavioral therapy. Although eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is practiced with resettled refugees, only five small studies of limited quality have been conducted on EMDR with this population. In the absence of strong evidence, therapists practising EMDR with refugees may be aided by transcultural psychiatric principles, especially matching of explanatory models. In addition, high-quality research is needed to reliably determine acceptability, safety, and efficacy of EMDR with traumatized refugees.

Abstract:
This study is devoted to the development of a model of teaching the stylistic aspect of foreign language communication in the process of secondary general education. The results of theoretical research and accumulated experience show that the stylistic aspect of foreign language communication plays a huge role in foreign language education at high school. However, students experience difficulties in applying stylistic techniques and tropes, which leads to a decrease in the quality of foreign language communication. This fact indicates the relevance of this study. The theoretical significance of the work lies in the development of the main theoretical approaches and principles that ensure the effectiveness of the proposed model implementation. The leading approaches are highlighted such as personal-activity, communicative, communicative-cognitive, socio-cultural and integrative. The main principles are the principle of scientific character, the prin-ciple of accessibility and feasibility, the principle of connection between theory and practice, the principle of systematicity and consistency, the principle of visibility, the principle of conscious and active participation. This study proposes a model of teaching the stylistic aspect of foreign language communication in the process of secondary general education based on a comparative analysis of stylistic means and functions in the native and foreign languages. The obtained results of the work can be used in the process of developing curricula and creating manuals for high school students.

Abstract:
The article considers the experience of using infill well patten in the territory of Western Siberia. The justification of geological and geotechnical factors affecting the efficiency of infill drilling with the subsequent use of a sector-crushed hydrodynamic model of the field site is given. With the help of the identified criteria, promising areas of infill drilling of wells are mapped, and it is established that increasing the detail of the grid of the hydrodynamic model makes it possible to clarify the localization of remaining oil in place. Based on the obtained results from the hydrodynamic model, variants of adjusted planned well count are compared according to accumulated and annual indicators. Thus, the infill well drilling program is optimized. The implementation of an integrated approach to the selection of sites for compaction drilling and the use of a detailed hydrodynamic model of this site allows to increase the production efficiency of recoverable remaining oil in place, as well as to level the risks of oil production.
