Abstract:
The exemplar-based method is most frequently used in face sketch synthesis because of its efficiency in representing the nonlinear mapping between face photos and sketches. However, the sketches synthesized by existing exemplar-based methods suffer from block artifacts and blur effects. In addition, most exemplar-based methods ignore the training sketches in the weight representation process. To improve synthesis performance, a novel joint training model is proposed in this paper, taking sketches into consideration. First, we construct the joint training photo and sketch by concatenating the o

The real and measurable model is helpful for structure simulation. Photogrammetry technology provides a new method to model a structure by photos. This article explored the feasibility of photo-based 3D modeling for the arc bridge structures by ordinary digital camera. Firstly, the preparation processes before modeling were introduced, that included camera calibration, designation of shooting program, how to take photos and plan measurement. Secondly, photo orientation and modeling process were introduced, too. A measurement test was put forward to get some good points to enhance the accuracy.

Model-based stereo vision methods can estimate the 6D poses of rigid objects. They can help robots to achieve a target grip in complex home environments. This study presents a novel approach, called the variable photo-model method, to estimate the pose and size of an unknown object using a single photo of the same category. By employing a pre-trained You Only Look Once (YOLO) v4 weight for object detection and 2D model generation in the photo, the method converts the segmented 2D photo-model into 3D flat photo-models assuming different sizes and poses. Specifically, the photo encoder generates semantic representation for each photo while exploiting temporal relationships among them.

Abstract:
Phragmites (Phragmites australis ssp. australis) threatens Great Salt Lake wetlands by readily displacing desirable native vegetation, degrading habitats, and diverting water from the lake and surrounding wetlands through increased evapotranspiration water loss. Understandably, land managers around the Great Salt Lake consider phragmites control a top priority and invest significant resources to treat and eradicate phragmites. Effective phragmites control relies on accurate mapping to identify possible treatment and follow up areas, and to clearly distinguish between phragmites and native vege

Abstract:
Addressing the issue of potholes is a primary concern for maintaining urban infrastructure. The research team has developed a prototype pothole management program. The program includes a mobile application and two machine learning models. The mobile app enables users to upload images of potholes, report relevant information, and provide driving directions to the pothole location. With the help of this application, the user can seamlessly capture images of the potholes, record pertinent information, and submit the data for necessary action. The mobile application is an essential tool in the Pot

To follow the ontogeny of embryos exposed to monochromatic green light vs. darkness. C. To investigate the effects of monochromatic green light illumination on myoblast and fiber development in the embryo. D. To investigate the stimulatory effect of light combinations during embryo and post-hatch periods on growth and meat production. E. To evaluate the direct effect of monochromatic green light on cultured embryonic and adult myoblasts. The overall purpose of this study was t

Abstract:
Radiative transfer through a snow surface within the visible and near infrared (NIR) spectra is complicated by the shape, size, and configuration of the snow grains that comprise the snow surface. Ray-tracing and photon-tracking techniques combined with 3D renderings of snow resolved at the microscale have shown promise as a means to directly simulate radiative transfer through snow with no restrictions on the snow grain configuration. This report describes and evaluates the US Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) Geometric Optics Snow Radiative Transfer (GOSRT) model.

Abstract:
The article reveals scientific approaches to substantiating and developing technology to form social information competence of future Iraqi journalists based on using a dynamic pedagogical site. After pre-interviewing students of the Journalism Faculty at Al-Imam Al-Kadhim University College for Islamic Sciences in Baghdad, the authors came to the conclusion there are issues on defining the essence of social information competences. It is established that the majority of respondents do not feel satisfied with the conditions for forming these competences in the education institutions. At the sa
