Abstract:
The paper derives the differential equations that describe the oscillations of an ideal gravitational pendulum in the non-inertial reference system linked to the earth's surface without restrictions imposed on the amplitude of the oscillations. If the angle of deviation of the pendulum from the apparent vertical is small, the respective equations coincide with those governing the oscillations of the Foucault pendulum. The computer-aided simulation is carried out based on the numerical solution of the system of differential equations.
