Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Integrated Circuit (IC) manufacturing consists of four major phases - wafer fabrication, wafer probe, IC packaging, and final test. Wafer fabrication and wafer probe belong to front-end process, while IC packaging and final test belong to backend process. In this research, integrated capacity planning system (ICPS) is proposed for IC backend manufacturing by taking into account the capacity and capability of resources. This study develops integrated infinite capacity planning integrating the capacity planning of both IC packaging and final test processes to minimize the standard deviations of machine utilization and kit utilization as well as the total extra capacity requirement (as a percentage) exceeding the capacity limit of machine and kit. ICPS applies the concept of workload leveling and infinite capacity planning on dual resources. ICPS consists of five modules: Work-In-Process (WIP) Pulling Module, Lot Release Module, Resource Selection Module, Workload Accumulation Module, and Workload Balance Module. WIP-Pulling Module pulls WIP from the end of the process route to meet the master production schedule (MPS). If WIP cannot meet the MPS requirement, Lot Release Module is executed. ICPS will use Resource Selection Module to accumulate the required resource capacity along its routine at different time buckets. Workload Accumulation Module simultaneously accumulates the workload of the major resources. Workload Balance Module levels the loading of resources by adjusting the lot’s start time using these resources. ICPS is developed in Microsoft Visual Basic and industrial data are used to test its performance. The results show that ICPS is effective and efficient to balance the workload of resources for IC backend factories including packaging and final test.

Abstract:

Balancing the energy consumption and location accuracy is one of the critical tasks in WSN. Energy consumption of sensor nodes is measured in terms of route discovery, packet forwarding and data transmission. In this research work, it is proposed that scheduling based Optimal Energy Clustering Scheme (SOECS) to attain the maximum location accuracy and energy efficiency during route maintenance. It contains three major modules. In first module, the node deployment is done using Gaussian distribution function to route the packets effectively. In second module, Cluster heads are chosen and energy is estimated for optimal cluster heads. In third module, TDMA scheduling algorithm is introduced to improve the energy efficiency using stable routes and scheduling table. The work is evaluated using network simulation tool. The proposed scheme produces high performance than existing schemes.

Abstract:
Electric catapults can be used for automatic information storage in radioactive environment. Dynamics of a transport system with the potential of route flexibility was investigated. This system is made up of stand-alone modules, therefore further expansion is possible. Modules consist of mechanical part (rails for the cart), electrical part (inductor of a linear induction motor (LIM) and electromagnetic brake) and electronic part (thyristor commutator). Cargo cart is mounted on the LIM’s secondary unit that can be catapulted from any station (module) to another. First LIM’s inductor starts the secondary, ejects it out of primary’s range. Inertia of the cart allows it to reach the next station which in turn can either accelerate it or stop it. Position detectors (Hall effect sensors) are used for estimating cart movement. Electromagnetic brakes are used as dynamic braking is not effective in this case. A computer model was designed and various operating modes are simulated (upon non-zero initial conditions).

The history of dangerous offender legislation reveals a selective focus on few sexual and violent offenders many of whom are not demonstrably more dangerous than most of the offenders from the larger pool of sexual and violent offenders from which they are drawn. To the extent such legislation draws attention from routine frequently occuring forms of violence in favour of the violence of a few predatory offenders it is clearly problematic. Nonetheless, there are good reasons such legislation is likely to be retained and perhaps modified to place a greater emphasis on community protection.

Abstract:
In 2010, Nigeria adopted the use of web-based software District Health Information System, V.2 (DHIS2) as the platform for the National Health Management Information System. The platform supports real-time data reporting and promotes government ownership and accountability. To strengthen its routine immunisation (RI) component, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through its implementing partner, the African Field Epidemiology Network-National Stop Transmission of Polio, in collaboration with the Government of Nigeria, developed the RI module and dashboard and piloted it in Kano state in 2014. The module was scaled up nationally over the next 4 years with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and CDC. One implementation officer was deployed per state for 2 years to support operations. Over 60 000 RI healthcare workers were trained on data collection, entry and interpretation and each local immunisation officer in the 774 local government areas (LGAs) received a laptop and stock of RI paper data tools. Templates for national-level and state-level RI bulletins and LGA quarterly performance tools were developed to promote real-time data use for feedback and decision making, and enhance the performance of RI services. By December 2017, the DHIS2 RI module had been rolled out in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, and all states now report their RI data through the RI Module. All states identified at least one government DHIS2 focal person for oversight of the system’s reporting and management operations. Government officials routinely collect RI data and use them to improve RI vaccination coverage. This article describes the implementation process—including planning and implementation activities, achievements, lessons learnt, challenges and innovative solutions—and reports the achievements in improving timeliness and completeness rates.

Abstract:
This paper proposes an optimal route and charging station selection (RCS) algorithm based on model-free deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to overcome the uncertainty issues of the traffic conditions and dynamic arrival charging requests. The proposed DRL based RCS algorithm aims to minimize the total travel time of electric vehicles (EV) charging requests from origin to destination using the selection of the optimal route and charging station considering dynamically changing traffic conditions and unknown future requests. In this paper, we formulate this RCS problem as a Markov decision process model with unknown transition probability. A Deep Q network has been adopted with function approximation to find the optimal electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) selection policy. To obtain the feature states for each EVCS, we define the traffic preprocess module, charging preprocess module and feature extract module. The proposed DRL based RCS algorithm is compared with conventional strategies such as minimum distance, minimum travel time, and minimum waiting time. The performance is evaluated in terms of travel time, waiting time, charging time, driving time, and distance under the various distributions and number of EV charging requests.

As one of the core components of electronic hardware systems, Field Programmable Logic Array (FPGA) device design technology continues to advance under the guidance of electronic information technology policies, and has made information technology applications. huge contribution. However, with the advancement of chip technology and the continuous upgrading of information technology, the functions that FPGAs need to perform are more and more complicated. How to efficiently perform layout design and make full use of chip resources has become an important technology to be solved and optimized in FPGA design. The FPGA itself is not limited to a specific function. It contains internal functions such as memory, protocol module, clock module, high-speed interface module and digital signal processing. It can be programmed through logic modules such as programmable logic unit modules and interconnects. Blank FPGA devices are designed to be high performance system applications with complex functions. The layout and routing technology based on cluster logic unit blocks can combine the above resources to give full play to its performance advantages, and its importance is self-evident. Based on the traditional FPGA implementation, this paper analyzes several advantages based on cluster logic block layout and routing technology, and generalizes the design method and flow based on cluster logic block layout and routing technology.

Abstract:
PURPOSE Many targeted therapies are currently available only via clinical trials. Therefore, routine precision oncology using biomarker-based assignment to drug depends on matching patients to clinical trials. A comprehensive and up-to-date trial database is necessary for optimal patient-trial matching. METHODS We describe processes for establishing and maintaining a clinical trial database, focusing on genomically informed trials. Furthermore, we present OCTANE (Oncology Clinical Trial Annotation Engine), an informatics framework supporting these processes in a scalable fashion. To illustrate how the framework can be applied at an institution, we describe how we implemented an instance of OCTANE at a large cancer center. OCTANE consists of three modules. The data aggregation module automates retrieval, aggregation, and update of trial information. The annotation module establishes the database schema, implements data integration necessary for automation, and provides an annotation interface. The update module monitors trial change logs, identifies critical change events, and alerts the annotators when manual intervention may be needed. RESULTS Using OCTANE, we annotated 5,439 oncology clinical trials (4,438 genomically informed trials) that collectively were associated with 1,453 drugs, 779 genes, and 252 cancer types. To date, we have used the database to screen 4,220 patients for trial eligibility. We compared the update module with expert review, and the module achieved 98.5% accuracy, 0% false-negative rate, and 2.3% false-positive rate. CONCLUSION OCTANE is a general informatics framework that can be helpful for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive database necessary for automating patient-trial matching, which facilitates the successful delivery of personalized cancer care on a routine basis. Several OCTANE components are publically available and may be useful to other precision oncology programs.

AbstractThe article deals with the possible application of the Solver optimization module to solving the single-circuit transport problems. First, the article describes the single-circuit transport problems and the optimization module Solver itself. Using the specific model example of beer distribution, the author demonstrates the algorithm which may be applied to solving single-circuit transport problems by means of Solver. The travel route designed by Solver is then compared with the originally proposed route. The values being compared include the total length of travel routes created and the associated variable costs spent on serving customers and also route design time. Thus, using the practical example of beer distribution, the manuscript has demonstrated the algorithm which is used for addressing the single-circuit transport problems. Nonetheless, possible application of the Solver tool is not limited to seeking a solution to the travelling salesman problem only. It can also be implemented even to discussing the multi-circuit transport problems with various confinements.

Abstract:
Importance: Consumers purchase a wide variety of consumer products and come into contact with these products on a daily basis. Manufacturers invest deeply in developing new products or improving existing products, in order to produce a positive impact on the lives of consumers. Objective: The goal of this study was to determine the impact of over-the-counter skin care products on the quality of life (QoL) of female consumers. Design and Measures: A QoL instrument developed for consumer products (the Farage QoL with an added Skin Care Module) was used to assess the impact of a 28-day facial skin care regimen using commercially available products formulated to improve elasticity, firmness and hydration, and to correct age- and sun-related skin color. Responses were collected prior to study commencement, at completion of the product usage stage, and after a period of withdrawal of the product with reversion to a basic skin care regimen. Participants: Two main study groups from Australia included 89 new mothers, i.e., women with children 2 years and under (mean age ± SD was 34 ± 4.8), and a national representative sample of 91 women (45 ± 12). An additional test group from China consisted of 40 younger cosmetic users (25 ± 4.3). The Skin Care Module was not included in the instrument for the third group. Results: After 28-days of usage, both test groups in the main study showed significant improvement in three of five items in the Skin Care Module (improved feelings of empowerment, happiness and self-esteem). Improvements persisted after 2 weeks of product withdrawal. In the main QoL instrument, the New Mothers group showed significant improvement in the Well-Being domain, driven by improvements in the Self-Image and Self Competence subdomains. The National Representative group showed improvements in the Energy and Vitality domain, driven by improvements in the Personal Pleasure, Physical State and Routine Activity subdomains. The additional group in the China study showed results similar to the New Mothers group. Conclusions and Relevance: A quality and efficacious skin care regimen can have a positive impact on the QoL of consumers. Differences in responses of the test groups were likely related to differences in the mean age and differences in time available to look after themselves.

Abstract:
The optimization of radiation protection is an important task in both the design and operation of a nuclear power plant. Although this topic has been considerably investigated for pressurized water reactors, there are very few public reports on it for pebble-bed reactors. This paper proposes a routine that jointly optimizes the system design and radiation protection of High Temperature Reactor-Pebble-Bed Module (HTR-PM) towards the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle. A systematic framework is also established for the optimization of radiation protection for pebble-bed reactors. Typical calculations for the radiation protection of radioactivity-related systems are presented to quantitatively evaluate the efficiency of the optimization routine, which achieve 23.3%~90.6% reduction of either dose rate or shielding or both of them. The annual collective doses of different systems are reduced through iterative optimization of the dose rates, designs, maintenance procedures, and work durations and compared against the previous estimates. The comparison demonstrates that the annual collective dose of HTR-PM is reduced from 0.490 man-Sv/a before optimization to 0.445 man-Sv/a after optimization, which complies with the requirements of the Chinese regulatory guide and proves the effectiveness of the proposed routine and framework.

Abstract:
We assessed the effect of a kiosk educational module on HIV screening rates and patient knowledge about HIV testing. The evaluation was performed in a walk-in clinic offering routine HIV screening. During alternating two-week periods, patients were referred either to view a kiosk-based, educational module prior to receiving usual care, or the kiosk module was turned off and no alterations to care processes were made. The primary outcome was HIV testing rate. The secondary outcome was knowledge about HIV rapid screening, as measured with a questionnaire. There were 71 patients in the kiosk periods and 79 patients in the usual-care periods. The overall HIV testing rate was 41%. The kiosk period was not associated with greater odds of HIV testing (OR 0.7; 95% CI: 0.4–1.4). In 44 patients who completed the knowledge survey, the kiosk group was strongly associated with increased knowledge (predicted increase in knowledge score: 1.3; 95% CI: 036–2.1). The brief kiosk educational module did not improve HIV screening rates, but it increased overall patient knowledge about HIV testing.

Hence we argue for a more ludic approach to learning and teaching in Higher Education to enable Widening Participation students and their tutors to become the academic writers they want to be. In particular “blind drawing” seems to be a powerful tool for diminishing the fear of failure and for fostering deep understanding as well as self-confidence.

Abstract:
The article examines the features of designing an individual educational route at the discipline level of a professional module. After analyzing several definitions of the notion «individual educational route», the authors derive their own definition, which they rely on throughout the work. An individual educational route is an effective order for an individual-differentiated mastering of an educational program or discipline by students, which forms a personal position, a student's opinion when choosing a learning goal, the content and methods of organizing it in conditions specially created by higher education. The description of the sequence of the development of the route is shown, the factors and conditions for its implementation are formulated. The structure of individual educational routes is reflected, various options for their development are proposed. The structure selected and analyzed components from the point of view of various authors. The authors note that the professional and personal development of students and their level of readiness for the independent choice of an individual educational route depend on the literacy of building an individual educational route. The authors conducted an experiment which showed that, thanks to such an important element, as competent pedagogical conditions allow an increase in the percentage of students' readiness. The results of the work can be used to further develop the issue of building individual educational routes at the level of the disciplines of the professional module in higher education.

Abstract:
In this paper, we build on past efforts with regard to the implementation of an efficient feature tracking algorithm for the mass processing of satellite images. This generic open-source feature tracking routine can be applied to any type of imagery to measure sub-pixel displacements between images. The routine consists of a feature tracking module (autoRIFT) that enhances computational efficiency and a geocoding module (Geogrid) that mitigates problems found in existing geocoding algorithms. When applied to satellite imagery, autoRIFT can run on a grid in the native image coordinates (such as radar or map) and, when used in conjunction with the Geogrid module, on a user-defined grid in geographic Cartesian coordinates such as Universal Transverse Mercator or Polar Stereographic. To validate the efficiency and accuracy of this approach, we demonstrate its use for tracking ice motion by using ESA’s Sentinel-1A/B radar data (seven pairs) and NASA’s Landsat-8 optical data (seven pairs) collected over Greenland’s Jakobshavn Isbræ glacier in 2017. Feature-tracked velocity errors are characterized over stable surfaces, where the best Sentinel-1A/B pair with a 6 day separation has errors in X/Y of 12 m/year or 39 m/year, compared to 22 m/year or 31 m/year for Landsat-8 with a 16-day separation. Different error sources for radar and optical image pairs are investigated, where the seasonal variation and the error dependence on the temporal baseline are analyzed. Estimated velocities were compared with reference velocities derived from DLR’s TanDEM-X SAR/InSAR data over the fast-moving glacier outlet, where Sentinel-1 results agree within 4% compared to 3–7% for Landsat-8. A comprehensive apples-to-apples comparison is made with regard to runtime and accuracy between multiple implementations of the proposed routine and the widely-used “dense ampcor" program from NASA/JPL’s ISCE software. autoRIFT is shown to provide two orders of magnitude of runtime improvement with a 20% improvement in accuracy.

Abstract:
Electric trams are one of the standard forms of public transport. They are characterized by large amounts of electric current and electric current gradient from the power grid, especially during acceleration. For this reason, a regenerative braking system is considered with the aim of reducing electric current peaks and increasing energy efficiency by reducing the total energy consumption of the power grid. A supercapacitor module is used as a storage device for storing and utilizing the braking energy. The supercapacitor module and the power grid constitute a hybrid energy system, for which a control algorithm has been developed. The control algorithm takes into account the influence of the elevation profile and the slope of the vehicle route in storing and using the braking energy. The operation of the algorithm was simulated and analyzed using the MATLAB/Simulink software package for tram lines with different elevation profiles.

Broilers are fast growing animals that are influenced by environmental conditions. Routine monitoring is needed, especially temperature, humidity and ammonia levels. In this study, the authors propose an embedded system that can detect temperature, humidity and ammonia levels. This system works by sending temperature, humidity and ammonia gas information routinely once a day to the henhouse operator via text message (SMS), or information will be sent if environmental conditions are above/below the threshold. The embedded system was built using microcontrollers, temperature and humidity sensors as well as ammonia sensors. The microcontroller uses Arduino. Temperature and humidity sensors use DHT11, while the ammonia level sensor uses MQ-135. Embedded system communication uses the GSM SIM800L module, this module is responsible for sending the henhouse environmental conditions to the operator via SMS. Testing is done in two stages, namely functionality and connectivity. The functionality test proves that the sensor can produce information on temperature, humidity and ammonia levels by comparing it with conventional tools. The connectivity test proves that the GSM SIM800L module can send monitoring data every day and certain conditions.

Abstract:
Advances in portable equipment have led to routine spirometry testing outside of formal pulmonary function laboratories. Practitioners ordering these tests are not formally trained in spirometry interpretation. Providing effective off-site training can be challenging. Our objective was to develop a remotely accessible computer-based tutorial for teaching spirometry interpretation to nonpulmonologists. We designed an educational module that was accessible via the Internet and tested by 65 medical trainees at a major university medical center. In addition, the module was posted within the Virtual Hospital on the World Wide Web. Increases in spirometry interpretative skills were assessed using pre- and post-tests submitted electronically. The spirometry module significantly improved spirometry interpretation by nonspecialist trainees. This improvement included a broad increase in knowledge base and was observed independent of training level and prior spirometry reading experience. We conclude that computer-based tutorials can effectively train off-site practitioners in spirometry interpretation. This technology allows for the dissemination of educational material from a central site of expertise and provides a valuable adjunct to limited teaching resources.

Abstract:
Designing and implementing investment projects are activities that have a direct impact on the natural environment and pose a threat to sustainable development of rural areas. The issue of agricultural production space protection during the implementation of linear projects in Poland is often only mentioned at the design stage as the final element. The aim of the study is to propose a tool to enable an assessment and modelling of a motorway design variant in order to minimise the impact on the agricultural production space. Four indicators introduced in the modelling procedure include the loss of agricultural land, a decrease of land productivity in the vicinity of an investment project, changes in the spatial structure of areas divided by the investment, and difficulties resulting from the accessibility of areas. The superiority of the proposed method over consolidations implemented in the vicinity of a motorway is due to the introduction into projects not only of elements organising the space but also attributes that prevent the reduction of the production capabilities of the land located in the vicinity of the motorway (Module I) and, secondly, the elements decreasing the re-organisation of the space (Module II).

Abstract:
Assessment of tree health requires accurate estimates of crown condition and identification of specific biotic and abiotic agents that may affect crowns, stems, or roots. ForestHealth, an expert advisory system written in C language for the Macintosh™ platform, provides a diagnostic module and two training modules. The diagnostic module provides guidance in identifying foliar symptoms and the common insects, diseases, and abiotic disorders found on leaves of: sugar maple (Acersaccharum Marsh.), red maple (Acerrubrum L.), black cherry (Prunusserotina Ehrh.), northern red oak (Quercusrubra L.), and white oak (Quercusalba L.). Graphical user interfaces are central to both training modules. The Foliar Severity routine trains users to categorize injury (percent leaf area) on single leaves using a modified Horsfall–Barratt scale. The Crown Dieback routine displays different types and degrees of crown injury that users must identify and classify. Each crown is unique, generated in "real time" using tree–branch parameters selected by the user. Since the crowns are created on a three-dimensional basis, multiple views are possible. Written output from training sessions or periodic checks provide quantitative information for quality assurance and quality control. ForestHealth provides diagnostic assistance, training, quality assurance and quality control data, and standardization for research or survey projects involving forest health.

With the rapid development of Internet, it has been an important channel to access, publish and deliver information. Apparently, Internet has been a part of social life. However, our urban public transportation management systems still require to be improved. There are few methods available for people to search public transport routes. The most popular method is asking people or searching on a transportation map. An urban public transportation management system allows people to search public transport routes through Internet easily and conveniently. By collecting stop information on the routes, people can make a better travel plan before leaving home. The main module in the system is the transportation query module, the functionalities of which include route query, stop query, and station-to-station query, and station query; while the management module deals with operation processing on tables, such as insertion, modification and deletion, and responses to questions in guest books.

Abstract:
Fires pose an enormous threat to human safety and many spectacular fires in under-construction buildings were reported over the past few years. Many construction sites only rely on fire extinguishers, as under-construction buildings do not contain a permanent fire protection system. Traditional safety planning lacks a justified approach for the firefighting equipment installation planning in the construction job site. Even though many government agencies made safety regulations for firefighting equipment installations, it is still a challenge to translate and execute these rules at the job site. Currently, the construction industry is devoted to discovering all the possible applications of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology in the entire phases of the project life cycle. BIM technology enables the presentation of facilities in 3-D and offers rule-based modeling through visual programming tools. Therefore, this paper focuses on a visual language approach for rule translation and a multi-agent-based construction fire safety planning simulation in BIM. The proposed approach includes three core modules, namely: (a) Rule Extraction and Logic Development (RELD) Module, (b) Design for Construction Fire Safety (DCFS) Module, and (c) Con-fire Safety Plan Simulation (CSPS) Module. In addition, the DCFS module further includes three submodules, named as (1) Firefighting Equipment Installation (FEI) Module, (2) Bill of Quantities (BoQs) for firefighting Equipment (BFE) Module, and (3) Escape Route Plan (ERP) Module. The RELD module converts the OSHA fire safety rule into mathematical logic, and the DCFS module presents the development of the Con-fire Safety Planning approach by translating the rules from mathematical logic into computer-readable language. The three sub-modules of the DCFS module visualize the outputs of this research work.
