Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
In this article, we first review the current status of 400GBASE client-side optics standards and multi-source agreements (MSAs). We then compare different form factors for 400GE modules, including CFP8, OSFP and QSFP-DD. The essential techniques to implement 400GE, such as pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4), forward error correction (FEC) and a continuous time-domain linear equalizer (CTLE), are discussed. A 400GE physical interface card (PIC) in Juniper’s PTX5000 platform has been developed, conforming to the latest IEEE802.3bs standard. To validate the PIC’s performance, a commercial optical network tester (ONT) and the PIC are optically interconnected through two CFP8-LR8 modules. The CFP8-LR8 module utilizes eight optical wavelengths through coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM). Each wavelength carries 50 Gb/s PAM4 signal. The signal transmits through 10 km of single mode fiber (SMF). The ONT generates framed 400GE signal and sends it to the PIC through the first CFP8 module. The PIC recovers the signal, performs an internal loopback, and sends 400GE signal back to the ONT through the second CFP8 module. The optical spectrum, eye diagram, receiver sensitivity, long time soaking results, and internal digital diagnosis monitoring (DDM) result are fully characterized. The pre-FEC bit error rate (BER) is well below the KP4 FEC threshold of 2.2 × 10−4. After KP4 FEC, error-free performance over 30 km of SMF is achieved. In this way, we demonstrate both the interoperation between the PIC and the ONT, as well as the interoperation between the two CFP8 modules. This demonstration represents the successful implementation of the 400GE interface in the core IP/MPLS router.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The 1.3-megadalton transcription factor IID (TFIID) is required for preinitiation complex (PIC) assembly and RNA polymerase II (Pol II)–mediated transcription initiation on almost all genes. The 26-subunit Mediator stimulates transcription and cyclin-dependent kinase 7 (CDK7)–mediated phosphorylation of the Pol II C-terminal domain (CTD). We determined the structures of human Mediator in the Tail module–extended (at near-atomic resolution) and Tail-bent conformations and structures of TFIID-based PIC-Mediator (76 polypeptides, ~4.1 megadaltons) in four distinct conformations. PIC-Mediator assembly induces concerted reorganization (Head-tilting and Middle-down) of Mediator and creates a Head-Middle sandwich, which stabilizes two CTD segments and brings CTD to CDK7 for phosphorylation; this suggests a CTD-gating mechanism favorable for phosphorylation. The TFIID-based PIC architecture modulates Mediator organization and TFIIH stabilization, underscoring the importance of TFIID in orchestrating PIC-Mediator assembly.

This paper examined system identification using grey-box model estimation and position-tracking control for an electro-hydraulic servo system (EHSS) using hybrid controller composed of proportional-integral control (PIC) and model predictive control (MPC). The nonlinear EHSS model is represented by differential equations. We identify model parameters and verify their accuracy against experimental data in MATLAB to evaluate the validity of this mathematical model. To guarantee improved performance of EHSS and precision of cylinder position, we propose a hybrid controller composed of PIC and MPC. The controller is designed using the Control Design and Simulation module in the Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW). A LabVIEW-based experimental rig is developed to apply the proposed controller in real time. Then, the validity and performance superiority of the hybrid controller were confirmed by comparing them with the MPC and PIC results. Results of real-life experiments show improved robustness and dynamic and static properties of EHSS.

Abstract:
Let l be a prime number and K be a cyclic extension of degree l of the rational function field 𝔽q(T) over a finite field of characteristic ≠ = l. Using class field theory we investigate the l-part of Pic 0(K), the group of divisor classes of degree 0 of K, considered as a Galois module. In particular we give deterministic algorithms that allow the computation of the so-called (σ - 1)-rank and the (σ - 1)2-rank of Pic 0(K), where σ denotes a generator of the Galois group of K/𝔽q(T). In the case l = 2 this yields the exact structure of the 2-torsion and the 4-torsion of Pic 0(K) for a hyperelliptic function field K (and hence of the 𝔽q-rational points on the Jacobian of the corresponding hyperelliptic curve over 𝔽q). In addition we develop similar results for l-parts of S-class groups, where S is a finite set of places of K. In many cases we are able to prove that our algorithms run in polynomial time.

The aim of this research is to develop a low power, low cost and energy efficient transceiver model which is integrated with programmable microcontroller and ZigBee transponder. A combination of programmable microcontroller with ZigBee transponder is used to control the transceiver module with computer commands. It has b een simulated for transmitting and receiving the communication signals from any movable device with more efficiently and use low power consumption. ZigBee Transponder is preferable as compared to radio frequency identification (RFID) due to IEEE 802.15.4 standard that promises stable data transmission with low power consumption device and having higher network flexibility. PIC 16F877A programmable microcontroller with coding in Mikro C software is simulated and used with computer control instructions. Series of experiments has been conducted to ensure the stability and low power consumption of this model.

Abstract:
A ring R is called right PCI if every proper cyclic right R-module is injective, i.e. if C is a cyclic right R-module then CR ≅ RR or CR is injective. By [2] and [3], if R is a non-artinian right PCI ring then R is a right hereditary right noetherian simple domain. Such a domain is called a right PCI domain. The existence of right PCI domains is guaranteed by an example given in [2]. As generalizations of right PCI rings, several classes of rings have been introduced and investigated, for example right CDPI rings, right CPOI rings (see [8], [6]). In Section 2 we define right PCS, right CPOS and right CPS rings and study the relationship between all these rings.

Abstract:
This paper aims to present a smart, particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based, real time configuration strategy for a photovoltaic (PV) module array in the event of shadow cast on a PV module(s) and/or module failure as an effective approach to power generation efficiency elevation. At the first step, the respective maximum output power levels provided by a normal operating array at various levels of irradiation and module surface temperatures are measured and entered as references into a database. Subsequently, the maximum output power (MPP) level, tracked by a MPP tracker, is feedbacked for a comparison with an aforementioned reference as a way to tell whether there is either a shadow or a malfunction event on a PV module(s). Once an abnormal operation is detected, the presented smart configuration algorithm is performed to reconfigure the PV module array such that the array is operated at the global MPP as intended. Furthermore, by use of a PIC microcontroller that is a family of microcontrollers made by Microchip Technology for compact implementation, this study is experimentally validated as an effective approach to locating the global MPP at all events.

The RT-LAB real-time simulation software can expediently and rapidly apply the Simulink model to the hard-in-the-loop simulation system and greatly save the expenses for development, experiment and measurement, thus cutting down the development cycle. The use of the self-made PCI board in the RT-LAB software requires the development of its driver module by the user himself. This paper presents the idea and development processes of the PCI bus-based board driver with the RT-LAB software. Taking as an example the NI-6230 multifunctional data acquisition board driver, the paper also presents the PCI board driver's key codes and their compilation with the RT-LAB software.

Abstract:
The development of a teaching aid module for digital Signal processing (DSP) in Nigeria Universities was undertaken to address the problem associated with non-availability instructional module. This paper annexes the potential of Peripheral Interface Controllers (PICs) with MATLAB resources to develop a PIC-based system with graphic user interface environment suitable for data acquisition and signal processing. The module accepts data from three different sources: real time acquisition, pre-recorded data acquisition and software-generated data. The developed system is able to perform analysis on both stationary and non-stationary signals using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT). The STFT-based approach provides Improved Joint Time Frequency Analysis (IJTFA) of signals. A graphical user interface (GUI) was developed to create interactive environment for understanding the operations of digital signal processing. The developed system not only provides interactive platform for data acquisition, spectral analysis and filter design but also makes it avoidable to students in Nigeria University.

Abstract:
According to the voltage balance equation, the paper deduces the mathematical model of BLDCM on the basis of analyzing the operation principle. In SIMULINK environment, the BLDCM ontology module is built by adopting the combination of BLDCM state equation with S function method. The built motor ontology module proves to be accurate and reasonable through the analysis of the simulation waveform, which helps to analysis BLDCM electronic commutation, etc. Again taking LM621N as commutation control chip, using PIC microcontroller output variable frequency square wave, and through external input device to adjust the square wave frequency, thus realizes the control of motor speed. A brushless dc motor drive with circuit protection functions is designed by the method of combining hardware and software. Not only the motor work situation of ontology is intuitively reflected, and the development cycle is shorted.

Abstract:
This study aimed to enhance boron removal through powdered activated carbon adsorption (PAC) and application of a micro-filtration (MF) process as a pretreatment of a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) process. Batch and continuous experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of membrane filtration as well as PAC addition on boron removal in reconstituted seawater. In batch test, two kinds of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hollow fiber membrane, Module A and Module B, were used to assess the influence of pH and PAC on boron removal, whereas in continuous mode, two MF systems with submerged PVDF flat-sheet membrane were run in parallel. Modules A and B obtained the highest percentage boron removal at pH 9 in the batch experiment with an average value of 47.33%, and their concentration of boron was further reduced after addition of PAC increasing the removal to 51.33 and 69.33%, respectively. For the continuous operation, PAC addition decreased the boron concentration by 20–30 and 40% in the reactor and effluent, respectively. On the other hand, only 5% reduction was obtained inside the reactor and 30–40% in the effluent for the system without PAC. Thus, operating the system at high pH with PAC addition could enhance the performance of the adsorption-MF system, which can be used as a pretreatment for the SWRO process.
