Esta pesquisa objetiva evidenciar se há diferenças médias estatisticamente significativas entre os modelos preditivos de insolvência de Kanitz, Elizabetsky, Matias, Altman e Pereira no setor de construção civil de empresas listadas na bolsa de valores brasileira. Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar a solvência ou insolvência de dois clubes de futebol do nordeste, sendo eles o Botafogo da Paraíba e o Sport de Pernambuco, mediante o uso dos termômetros de solvência de Kanitz e de Elizabetsky, a fim de compreender a realidade financeira desses clubes. Para a efetuação deste estudo, a metodologia empregada se deu por meio de uma pesquisa documental, com uma abordagem de natureza quantitativa e qualitativa. Calculou-se os principais índices econômico-financeiros e de endividamento dos clubes, constatando o estado de insolvência ou solvência dos clubes.
