Slow-release devices retained in the rumen, are a simple method for continuous administration of bioactives to ruminant animals. To satisfy regulatory requirements and avoid waste of bioactive due to under- or over-dosing, it is advantageous to have a constant and predictable release rate. Existing intraruminal controlled-release technologies cannot easily be adapted for different bioactives or rates of release and can be influenced by the variable physiological environment in the rumen. Yu, Boying. "Gametogenesis and flower development controlled by AtAnamorsin1 and AtPUB4." HKBU Institutional Repository, 2015. https://repository.hkbu.edu.hk/etd_oa/158.

Abstract:
Flowers are the organs for sexual reproduction in angiosperms. Gametogenesis in floral organs leads to formation of sperms and eggs and their fertilization forms a zygote that develops into a new plant. Gametogenesis and embryogenesis involve precisely regulated biological processes controlled by complex networks of genes and pathways. In this study, AtANA1, which was identified as a redox sensitive protein in previous study, was found to be essential for embryogenesis and also plays an important role in both male and female gametogenesis. Without a functional AtANA1, embryo development is arr

Zhong, Yongliang. "Development of Controlled Ring-Opening Polymerization of O-Carboxyanhydrides." Diss., Virginia Tech, 2020. http://hdl.handle.net/10919/100736.

Abstract:
The aim of my Ph.D. thesis is to summarize my research on the development of ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of O-carboxyanhydrides (OCAs) to synthesize functionalized, degradable polyesters. Biodegradable polyesters are promising alternatives to conventional petroleum-based non-degradable polyolefins and they are widely used in everyday applications ranging from clothing and packaging to agriculture and biomedicine. Commercially available polyesters, such as poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid), poly(lactic acid), and polycaprolactone, hydrolyze in physicochemical media. They have been approved by
