Abstract:
O intestino de um pintinho é relativamente subdesenvolvido após o nascimento e estratégias de alimentação inicial devem considerar este atraso, principalmente pelas condições de estresse a qual estes animais estão submetidos logo após a eclosão. A primeira refeição do embrião é o fluido amniótico o qual é ingerido antes da bicagem interna da casca do ovo iniciando no 13º dia de incubação estendendo-se até o 18º, preparando o trato gastrointestinal para o contato com nutrientes externos após a eclosão. Considerando o padrão fisiológico de um pintinho, as reservas de carboidratos são mínimas logo após a eclosão, ocorrendo uma relação inversa entre o peso da ave jovem e as reservas de glicogênio, sugerindo que o frango moderno, de crescimento rápido, possui maior requerimento metabólico que a genética de aves utilizadas em décadas anteriores. Atualmente a alimentação in ovo tem sido considerada uma alternativa viável como suporte ao desenvolvimento precoce dos pintinhos através da utilização de soluções nutritivas injetáveis durante o período de incubação. Objetivou-se discutir as possibilidades em implantação da técnica de nutrição in ovo na cadeia produtiva do frango considerando as necessidades fisiológicas dos animais e resultados obtidos por pesquisas científicas.

Abstract:
Se toma como punto de partida la discusión filosófica que se da en relación a Nietzsche y Heiddeger acerca del advenimiento del nihilismo para adentrarnos en los asuntos de la frontera en el mundo moderno y postmoderno. Esa condición existencial nos acerca a la vivencia en la frontera, al hecho de traspasar y vivir en los límites. En otras dimensiones, encontramos la actualidad de ese debate filosófico, ya que el tema fronterizo adquiere centralidad. En el terreno social, político y cultural vemos cómo la globalización nos está conduciendo a un debilitamiento de las fronteras y, paradójicamente, a un aumento en su importancia. La demarcación fronteriza sigue siendo importante, sólo que ahora tiene que vérselas con la proliferación de agentes, fuerzas y tendencias regionales y globales que hacen de la frontera una institución más borrosa y abierta. El aumento de la interdependencia lleva a que la migración y el trasiego fronterizo le estén cambiando el rostro a las comunidades nacionales del mundo actual. Los Estados nacionales se pintan de color por esos movimientos migratorios que dan lugar a la diversidad, la pluralidad y el multiculturalismo en las sociedades antes más homogéneas. Abstract:
The shift to a new economy places on intangible assets an indispensable instrument to preserve the competitive positions of firms and their value creation process. Due to their nature being difficult to define, the wealth created by intangible assets may not be fully captured by the current accounting standards which are based on limited recognition criteria. This paper sheds light on the importance of accounting information for valuation and offers a study of how equity valuation models perform in measuring the value of firms with high and low proportions of intangibles. To this end, a comprehensive review of literature relevant to the matter of equity valuation using accounting numbers is offered followed by the results of the analyses performed to a large and a small samples of US and UK publicly traded firms. It is found that the separation of the samples into firms with high and low proportions of intangibles produces in some cases evident differences whilst in others there are no conclusive disparities. The RIVM is proven to provide superior valuation performance when compared to the P/E multiple and some tendencies in varying approaches to firm valuation by analysts, according to the extent of intangible asset proportion, are observed yet not confirmed.

Abstract:
The chapter analyzes three videos: Picolé, pintinho e pipa (2006), Seja bem-vindo a nossa Tavares Bastos (2009), and Tempo de criança (2010). Produced by favela-based residents, these videos relocate childhood into the imaginary of the city in an attempt to challenge hegemonic modes of representing favela children. Constructed as the negative Other, male black favela youngsters are usually portrayed by the official media performing activities associated with begging, windshield washing, consuming and selling drugs, stealing or killing. The criminalization of black male youngsters from favelas has been instrumental in shaping and justifying far-reaching politics of exclusion, diverse forms of inequality. Said videos are thus perceived as acts of seeing that become exploratory strategies intrinsically intertwined with the production of alternative forms of identity and geographical representations. Therefore, this chapter serves as study of some of the strategies employed to propose alternative paradigms of childhood.
