Abstract:
The article deals with three research problems that the authors consider to be the key ones for modern sociology. This is due to the fact that the modern new world has given rise to new relationships between people and new techniques used by them – put forward new scientific problems for sociology. Once the classics of sociology of the 19th century showed the most important guidelines for the social sciences, which can be expressed by the idea - not only to study, but also to change, and before changing to understand. But these three – research problems, of course, are not the limit for sociology. First of all, and this is the first thing, the authors draw attention to the fact that the modern world, understood as a social system, needs a theoretical explanation based on modern facts and realities of the present time. And the modern sociological picture of the world is in need of revision and rethinking, relying on previous sociological theories. The another direction, or the second sphere of sociological problems, is the development of applied theoretical foundations, or “middle level theories” for empirical research methods. This is especially necessary for empirical research in modern institutions and enterprises aimed at improving the organization of intellectual work. And the third important direction is that is the empirical methods themselves need to be improved in connection with the changed conditions for collecting and processing information. This is due to the fact that Internet surveys have practically replaced personal surveys, new forms of observation are emerging, and digital methods of document analysis have appeared. In this regard, new requirements arise for the formation of a representative sample and the methods for creating valid instruments.

Abstract:
Throughout its history, the term has been considered by scientists from different points of view. Despite a large number of works on terminology, many problems concerning the term are still unsolved. No researcher has a monopoly on truth, so terminological work must continue. Terminology as a special field of knowledge is attracting more and more attention from researchers. This is explained by the international nature of modern scientific knowledge, caused by the processes of integration and, as a result, the desire to unify terms as a way to overcome language barriers in various spheres of socio-linguistic activity. Linguistic terminology reflects the conceptual apparatus of various national scientific traditions, linguistic trends and schools, as well as the linguistic theories of individual authors.Terminology as a special field of knowledge attracts all more attention from researchers. This is due to the international the nature of modern scientific knowledge, caused by the processes integration and, as a result, the desire for the unification of terms as a way overcoming language barriers in various areas of socio-cultural activities.

Abstract:
Education is currently undergoing "deep" modernisation. In accordance with this, the main outcomes of educational institutions are not the knowledge itself, but a set of social competences in the most important spheres of life. Learners should adopt a set of socio-political, intellectual, informational and civic competences when they enter "adult life". The teaching of different sciences in educational institutions contributes to the formation of diverse concepts and the development of critical thinking among learners. An important point in the understanding of knowledge should include pupils’ acceptance of personal relevance, which leads to an understanding of chemistry as a science in the context of global challenges to humanity. The development of a chemical picture of the world among learners is important for the formation of a scientific outlook and a culture of ecological thinking and behaviour. That’s why, the scientific picture of the world would be fundamental for the development of nanotechnology in the educational process

Abstract:
In this article, we present the results of our study into the contribution of geography to modern geopolitics in Russia. We stress the interdisciplinary nature of geopolitical studies and identify ensuing problems. Using content analysis of the eLIBRARY bibliography database and Elsevier’s abstract and citation database Scopus, we conclude that geography has considerably affected the development of modern geopolitics in Russia. The contribution of geographers is rather modest considering the number of PhD theses and research publications. However, it becomes more visible when textbooks only are taken into account. Geographical studies are an indispensable part of geopolitical research, which we identified using the object-subject criteria reflecting the effect that properties of territories have on the policies of states located within them. This relates to marine geopolitics, ethnic geopolitics, geoeconomics, ecopolitics, political geoconflict studies, and mediageopolitics. We consider geopolitics and ethnic geopolitics to be priority areas of geographical and geopolitical studies. Geography plays a major role in the comprehensive geopolitical studies into territories of different size. Geopolitics of post-Soviet space, geopolitics of Russia, domestic geopolitics, and critical geopolitics examine the combined effect of the properties of territories on the policies of states implemented in them. We stress that most geographical and geopolitical works focus on analysing the geopolitical location of territories, the geopolitical interests of states, and the identification of mechanisms behind the geopolitical vision of the population.

Abstract:
The article is a review of modern foreign psychological and sociological studies of parenthood, the relevance of which is associated with those significant changes that have occurred in recent decades in the conditions of parenthood and in the very ideas about parental functions in relation to children. The widest palette of research questions raised in the works on parenthood is demonstrated. Particular attention is paid to two problems that are especially discussed in foreign scientific literature: 1) the relationship between parenthood and work, especially at the stage of transition to parenthood; 2) the relationship of parenthood and the psychological well-being of the individual. Approaches to the formation of the parental sphere based on the theory of roles and on the theory of identity are analyzed. Perspective directions and methods for further research into motherhood and new, “involved” fatherhood are outlined.

Abstract:
Marine stabilized buoys are currently a relatively new and rapidly developing branch of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) (Strategy GOOS-2030. 2021). They find application in a number of topical studies aimed at solving a wide range of problems, including the study of slow or deviant trends, such as seismic and volcanic processes in subduction zones, gas exchange between the ocean and the atmosphere, biooptical observations, etc. The proposed the article is of a review nature. Two different types of stabilized buoys are considered: “spar” with motion stabilization relative to the average level of the water surface and “inverted pendulum” with fixation relative to the seabed. Examples are given of a stabilized “spar” type buoy used to study the interaction of the atmosphere and the ocean, two “inverted pendulum” buoys as part of a system for calibrating optical satellite sensors and for monitoring seabed displacement in a zone of volcanic activity. The project of a stabilized buoy of the “spar” design made of stressed reinforced concrete, developed at the IO RAS, is described. The main advantages of such a buoy compared to metal buoys are: durability, environmental friendliness, relative cheapness. The features of the calculation of a buoy of a reinforced concrete structure are considered.

Abstract:
The development of new devices for research in physics of the upper atmosphere and near-Earth space, which can be used to carry out controlled experiments on the modification of the ionosphere by powerful short-wave radiation, is an urgent task of modern solar-terrestrial physics, space weather, operation of satellite constellations in near-Earth space, radio communications, and radar. The paper describes a modern heating facility, created within the framework of the National Heliogeophysical Complex of the Russian Academy of Sciences. We review the tasks facing the heater, discuss its main technical characteristics, and describe the capability of the observational infrastructure surrounding the heating facility. The paper justifies the long-term benefits of the development of a heating facility at middle latitudes of Eastern Siberia, which can radiate in a frequency range 2.5–6.0 MHz with an effective power of the order of several hundred megawatts. It is important that the heater will be surrounded by such multifunctional instruments as the modern incoherent scatter radar, mesostratospheric lidar, observational systems that can provide a wide range of possibilities for diagnosing artificial plasma disturbances and artificial airglow structures.

Abstract:
Innovative development of Ukraine is possible due to the introduction of an effective mechanism for the promotion of commercially attractive scientific ideas and developments, which are produced at universities, into the domestic and international markets. It is extremely difficult for research universities to negotiate the transfer of their developments due to the lack of an extensive technology transfer infrastructure where an information system would be in place to exchange technological requests and proposals. The authors demonstrate a modern toolkit for the transfer of knowledge and technology, which is actively used by the international academic community and contributes to the consideration of modern specifics in the organization of innovative marketing in research universities. In the article, the authors analyze the role of social and communication tools, namely media and online social platforms, such as Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, or YouTube, or other communication search platforms, including Enterprise Europe Network in the technological transfer of world research universities and Ukrainian university practice. The dominance of positive features in the use of media tools for technology transfer proves its viability for the Ukrainian market. Using the tools of media sector it was proposed to develop a modern strategy for commercializing the results of innovative activities of research universities. The article offers considering the process of bringing to commercially attractive results of experimental research at universities based on the methodology of network marketing and education.

Abstract:
The project of the industrial modern city comprises many heterogeneous paths and stories, in particular those regarding the CIAM (Congrès Internationaux d’Architecture Moderne) Functional City. They all come together in a discourse that links the architectural form to positive urban and social transformations. Such a discourse was interpreted from two different perspectives: The first hypothesized the need for political change starting from the collectivization of land ownership as stressed in the declaration of CIAM at La Sarraz in 1928, whereas the second theorised the capacity of new architecture to improve living conditions irrespective of the political context as supported by Le Corbusier. Starting from these premises, the present commentary proposes a fresh perspective on the functional city project, where the research on the minimization of effort contributed to a different definition of work from the Marxist one and in the modern sense. Therefore, the design and the space of the Existenzminimum blatantly contributes to the construction of a new routine, inspired by minimum effort, with the creation of a new effort–relaxation–rest rhythm and repetition.

Abstract:
Josephus was a Jewish historian during the 1st century in the Roman Empire. In the Christian church, Josephus received recognition as a crypto-Christian Nicodemus character, a kind of Jewish church father similar to Philo, or a kind of fifth evangelist. In late antiquity and the Middle Ages of Europe he was respected and esteemed as a great author and historian. For example, a man like Hieronymus would describe him as the Jewish Livius. During this period, admiration of him was nearly uncritical, and the work of scholars consisted primarily in carrying on the tradition by constantly creating new editions and translations. The first slight signs of critical attitude appeared at the end of the Middle Ages, when one gradually began to take note of and comment on Josephus’ deviations from the text of the Old Testament in his rendering of biblical history.
