This thesis is concerned with the dynamical evolution of globular star clusters modelled as the classical gravitational N-body problem. The recent empirical literature has shown that the dynamic generating mechanism of macroeconomic variables can be asymmetric. Inspiring from these empirical results, this thesis uses a class of nonlinear models called smooth transition autoregressive models to investigate possible asymmetric dynamics in inflation and nominal exchange rate series of Turkey. We model Milky Way like isolated disk galaxies in high resolution three-dimensional hydrodynamical simulations with the adaptive mesh refinement code Enzo. The aim of this thesis is to shed light on language variation and language change in judicial protocols from the municipal court in Stockholm during the period 1476−1626. Herbig-Haro (HH) objects are small nebulous regions of shock excited gas associated with bipolar outflows from newly formed stars. This dissertation presents an extensive set of observational data on Herbig-Haro objects, including deep CCD images, medium resolution long-slit spectra, and high resolution echelle spectra. The CCD survey indicates that HH objects cannot be identified reliably on the basis of morphology alone. The aim of this study is to investigate the illustrations in a classical children’s book in order to see how the pictures can support reading comprehension during reading aloud in the classroom. The study analyses three different Swedish editions of Alice in Wonderland with the aid of analytical questions inspired by Maria Nikolajeva’s analysis in Bilderbokens pusselbitar (2000). The three editions show dissimilarities in the use of illustrations to assist pupils in their understanding of the text.
