In real life, multiple attribute decision problems (MADM) can be applied in different areas and numerous related extensions and methodologies have been proposed by researchers. Combining three-way TOPSIS decision ideas with MADM is a feasible and meaningful research direction. In light of this, this paper generalizes the classical TOPSIS method with the help of mean and standard deviation and proposes the so-called modified three-way TOPSIS. First, using a pair of thresholds which is derived by mean and standard deviation, we divide decision alternatives into three segments, and then a prelimi

We develop this gauge by producing a perturbed spacetime metric that describes the geometry of our past lightcone where observations are usually obtained. Abstract:
The fourth installment of the Making Healthcare Safer (MHS) series of reviews marks nearly a quarter century’s progress in efforts to meet the challenge of reducing and, ultimately, eliminating preventable patient harm. Throughout this patient safety journey, the MHS series synthesizes and disseminates evidence on the effectiveness of patient safety practices (PSPs). In 2022, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) launched work on the fourth iteration of the MHS Report (MHS IV). Topics were prioritized for inclusion in the MHS IV series based on a modified Delphi technique used

Chehab, Ghassan. Effectiveness and External Noise of Transverse Rumble Strip Designs. Illinois Center for Transportation, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.36501/0197-9191/22-009.

Full text
Abstract:
The report presents a case study motivated by comments and concerns from residents regarding high levels of noise originating from vehicles passing transverse rumble strips at the intersection of US-41 northbound and West Park Avenue in Highland Park, Illinois. The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks to reduce the exterior noise the rumble strips generate without compromising the safety they deliver. A review of the latest literature on the topic and state of practice by other state departments of transportation revealed the absence of an existing standard that mandates specific design

Abstract:
Original objectives: The long term objective of the project is to achieve higher content of protein in the milk of ruminants by modulating the translational machinery in the mammary gland. The first specific aim of the BARD proposal was to characterize responsiveness of various experimental systems to combination of lactogenic hormones and amino acids with particular emphasis on discrimination between the control of total protein synthesis and milk protein synthesis. Based on the results, we planned to proceed by characterizing the stage of protein synthesis in which the stimulation by lactoge

Abstract:
Original objectives: Understanding the regulation of abscission competence by exploring the nature and function of auxin-related gene expression changes in the leaf and pedicelAZs of tomato (as a model system), was the main goal of the previously submitted proposal. We proposed to achieve this goal by using microarray GeneChip analysis, to identify potential target genes for functional analysis by virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). To increase the potential of accomplishing the objectives of the previously submitted proposal, we were asked by BARD to show feasibility for the use of these two

Abstract:
The objectives of this project were to: 1) Identify genetic markers linked to sex-determining genes in various experimental and commercial stocks of O. niloticusand O. aureus, as well as red tilapias; 2) Develop additional markers tightly linked to these sex determiners, and develop practical, non-destructive genetic tests for identifying genotypic sex in young tilapia; A third aim, to map sex modifier loci, was removed during budget negotiations at the start of the project. Background to the topic. A major obstacle to profitable farming of tilapia is the tendency of females to reproduce at a

Full text
Abstract:
Original proposal objectives: Our main original goal was to develop ultra-fast methods and instrumentation for the analysis of hazardous chemicals in the food supply. We proposed to extend the QuEChERS approach to veterinary drugs and other contaminants, and conduct fast and ultra-fast analyses using novel 5MB-MS instrumentation, ideally with real samples. Background to the topic: The international trade of agricultural food products is a $1.2 trill ion annual market and growing. Food safety is essential to human health, and chemical residue limits are legislated nationally and internationally

Abstract:
The necessity to improve broiler thermotolerance and live performance led to the following hypothesis: Appropriate comprehensive incubation treatments that include significant temperature management changes will promote angiogenesis and will improve acquisition of thermotolerance and carcass quality of heavy broilers through epigenetic adaptation. It was based on the following questions: 1. Can TM during embryogenesis of broilers induce a longer-lasting thermoregulatory memory (up to marketing age of 10 wk) that will improve acquisition of thermotolerance as well as increased breast meat yield
