Abstract:
Binary Phase Shift Keying represents the simulation results of binary digital modulation schemes. Here for BASK and BPSK modulation techniques use FPGA algorithm. If multiplier block is used for multiplication bit stream with carrier signal, used time will rises. In addition using multiplier block obtained simulation results were analyzed and compared to other simulation results. Source consumptions of FPGA-based BASK modulation technique and BPSK modulation technique were compared. Also, for different modulation algorithm, source consumptions of BASK and BPSK modulation technique were analyzed using VHDL. Designed modulators using VHSIC (Very High Speed Integrated Circuit) Hardware Description Language (VHDL) was realized on high speed FPGA (Field Program Programmable Gate Array). Because for used modulation technique data rate transfer is fairly important in wireless communication systems. The highest speed data rate transfer can be realized using fiber optic cables. In addition, BER (Bit Error Rate) of BASK and BPSK modulator was compared using MATLAB simulation program. Binary data rate is same for BPSK and BASK. BPSK and BASK modulations were designed on FPGA using VHDL hardware description language.

Abstract:
Wireless communications are among the rapidly growing fields in our current life and have a massive effect on every aspect of our everyday life. In this paper, the performance of the various digital modulation techniques (BPSK, DPSK, QPSK, and QAM) based wireless communication system on the audio signal transmission through the additive Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel is assessed on the basis of bit error rate (BER) as a function of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Based on the results of this study, BPSK modulation outperforms the DPSK, QPSK, and QAM modulation strategies in the MIMO MC-CDMA VBlast based wireless communication system. The digital modulation of QPSK shows the worst performance in audio signal transmission especially in comparison to other digital modulations. It is clear from the current simulation study based on MATLAB that the V-Blast encoded 4×4 MIMO MC-CDMA wireless system with minimum mean square error (MMSE) signal detection and 1⁄2-rated convolution and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) channel encoding strategies show good performance utilizing BPSK digital modulation in audio signal transmission.

Abstract:
In this paper, the bifurcation parameter of the chaotic map is estimated accurately by utilizing the ergodic properties of a chaotic dynamical signal. Binary Phase Shift Keying Ergodic Chaotic Parameter Modulation (BPSK-ECPM) scheme is used to modulate the information signal in the bifurcating parameter of the chaotic map. A mean value estimation technique is used at the receiver to retrieve the original information accurately. This method minimizes the computational complexity of the receiver; thereby, reduces the total manufacturing cost. Simulation results confirm that, in AWGN channel and at bit error rate (BER) of 10-3, BPSK-ECPM achieves gains in Eb/N0 of about 0.7dB and 5dB in comparison with conventional direct sequence spread spectrum with BPSK modulation (DS-SS BPSK) and conventional ergodic chaotic parameter modulation spread spectrum (ECPM-SS) systems respectively. The results also confirm that in Rayleigh fading channel and at BER of 10-3, BPSK-ECPM achieves gains in Eb/N0 of about 6.3dB and 1.6dB in comparison with DS-SS BPSK and ECPM-SS systems respectively, which make BPSK-ECPM an ideal candidate for the intelligent transportation system (ITS).

Abstract:
The application of OFDM technology is still not fully implemented in the Telecommunication Study Program at State Polytechnic of Malang. This is because the application of this technology is applied to hardware. However, this can be overcome by simulating the OFDM technology through software. From the application of the system into the program by entering the predetermined parameters, the BER value can be compared to the predetermined parameters. Bit error that appears in the application of the OFDM Multi user system for bit error in BPSK Modulation with AWGN and Rayleigh Fading channels appears bit error respectively with an average of 9 bits and 14 bits at 11 dB SNR. Whereas in the QPSK modulation with AWGN and Rayleigh Fading channels, each bit error appears with an average of 13 bits and 18 bits on the SNR of 14 dB. Furthermore, in the calculation of bandwidth efficiency in the frequency allocation of 20 MHz for BPSK modulation, three values ??of bandwidth efficiency are obtained, among others, 1 bps / Hz in theory for practical, namely the code rate ½ is 0.3 bps / Hz and the code rate ¾ is 0.45 bps / Hz. While the QPSK modulation also obtained three values ??of bandwidth efficiency, namely, 2 bps / Hz in theory for practical, namely the code rate ½ is 0.6 bps / Hz and the code rate ¾ is 0.9 bps / Hz.

Abstract:
Innovations in the field of wireless communication are growing very rapidly in line with the behavior of modern societies that have high mobility, need of the flexible services, easy access, and high speed data transfer to facilitate any activities of its users. The needs of every user of any variety are more than just voice, video, data transfer, up to a demanding streaming multimedia capabilities and reliability of the communication system used. One of the factors that affect the quality and speed of data transfer in wireless communications is modulation. The development of technological modulation allows data transfer rate to become faster, more resistant to noise, and have high security (encryption) in order to secure data sent over the lead. The implementation of digital modulator PSK (Phase Shift Keying Modulation) and QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) on FPGA is designed to simplify the design of a hardware by representing the input which is prepared by using the VHDL programming language. The input will be programmed by logic gates contained in the FPGA into a circuit that functions as a digital modulator. This device can map the input bits into a modulator output that has been mapped in accordance with the coordinates of the constellation. The expected results of the implementation are three types of digital modulator, namely: BPSK, QPSK and 16-QAM to be implemented on FPGA Xilinx Spartan-6 XC6SLX45 CSG324C; modulation type to be used can be selected by entering input on the programs implemented in the FPGA. In the design used input from laptop devices with UART interface and data types for input is ASCII 8 bit for later analysis simulation results modulation of the input to each modulator using Modelsim for simulation design and Chipscope for simulation system design implemented in the FPGA.

Abstract:
Digital modulation increases information capacity, data security, and system availability while maintaining high communication quality. As a result, digital modulation techniques are in higher demand than analog modulation techniques due to their ability to transmit larger amounts of data. Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK), Frequency Shift Keying (FSK), Phase Shift Keying (PSK), Differential Phase Shift Keying (DPSK), and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) are critical components of current communications systems development, particularly for broadband wireless communications. In this paper, the comparison of bit error rate performance of different modulation schemes (BPSK, QPSK, and16-QAM) and various equalization techniques such as constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and maximum likelihood sequence estimate (MLSE) for the AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed using Simulink. BPSK outperforms QPSK and 16-QAM when compared to the other two digital modulation schemes. Among the three digital modulation schemes, BPSK is showing better performance as compared to QPSK and 16-QAM.

Abstract In this paper, we study the performance improvement of free space optical (FSO) communication system with spatial diversity techniques employing hybrid pulse position modulation-binary phase shift keying-subcarrier intensity modulation (PPM-BPSK-SIM). The involvement of multiple photo-detectors in diversity based FSO systems offers an effective way to overcome scntillation. In this paper, we have simulated the bit error rate (BER) with respect to different parameters like average SNR, link distance at various weather conditions. The simulation results are verified in Matlab environment with the mathematical analysis. The simulation results show that higher order single input multiple output (SIMO) system achieves better BER performance and hybrid PPM-BPSK-SIM has significant improved performance than the common modulation schemes like PPM, BPSK-SIM.

This paper details the design of integrated balanced PSK modulator using finline coplanar line hybrid junction. The PSK signal output is in suspended stripline with incident wave carrier in finline. Schottky barrier Diode MA4E2037 has been used for modulation. The balanced configuration offers high isolation between the carrier input port and the modulated carrier output port and thus the pulse width variations and amplitude deviations are suppressed. An insertion loss imbalance of±1.5 dB with an average loss of 2 dB in the two switching states has been achieved over 38.9 to 40 GHz. The phase imbalance is±10 degrees with phase switching from 180 to 199 degrees As the PSK output signal is in suspended stripline, two BPSK modulators can be easily combined together to work as QPSK modulator.

Abstract:
With many periodical discontinuous boundaries, periodic tube structure is prone to inter-symbol interference in acoustic communication. To look for the appropriate communication method and improve the quality of acoustic communication in the structure, experiments were carried out in the real periodic structure using raised cosine ASK, FSK and BPSK modulation respectively. The results show that:in periodic tube structure, ASK, FSK, and BPSK all can realize normal acoustic communication in the condition without noise or the noise is weak. Raised cosine ASK modulation can better use transmission power and get the highest data rate (up to 65.7Kbps in the experimental structure) in un-noise environment. BPSK has the best noise immunity in the condition with noise. So, the BPSK is more suitable for the actual acoustic communication in periodic tube structure in the actual environment.

Abstract:
How to improve spectral efficiency is one of the hot research topics in communication technology. UNB (Ultra Narrow Band), as a kind of modulation method that can improve spectral efficiency, has been advancing in a lot of disputation. EBPSK (Extended-BPSK) has been developed as an UNB modulation format and MEBPSK (Multi-Extended-BPSK) is also used to enhance the spectral efficiency. The details of frequency domain characteristics of MEBPSK will be investigated in this article. First, base band pulse coding is given; then, PSD expression for MEBPSK is deduced, and computer simulations are conducted with different modulation parameters, which shows that the theoretical results and simulation results are consistent. Finally, the bandwidth occupation and bandwidth efficiency of MEBPSK are analyzed according to different bandwidth definitions, a comparison is made between MEBPSK and EBPSK under the same conditions and, by analysis and experiment, it is shown that bandwidth efficiency of MEBPSK can be log2N times that of EBPSK according to-60dB definition, N is the integer power of 2, which obviously improves the data rates greatly under the same condition.

Satellite altimeters play a key role in Earth remote sensing programs. To attain a centimeter accuracy level within the limited energy budget the altimeter probing signal should have a processing gain of the order of tens of thousands. Un-der such circumstances both of the angle modulation modes (LFM, BPSK) are equivalent as for their tactical performance. Preference of LFM in modern foreign devices is based on the tendency to reduce demands to digital processing operation speed by transferring wide-band processing to the analog receiver part. However, modern circuitry capabilities allow to implement digital processing of the signals with the bandwidth of hundreds MHz, giving thereby the way to involving BPSK signals which are not that susceptible to various drifts and external disturbances, do not require frequency modulation super-linearity, etc. In the paper both modulation formats are compared and recommendations are given on how to choose the structure and parameters of BPSK signal.

The improvement for hybrid radio frequency–free space optical (RF–FSO) communication system in wireless optical communications has acquired growing interests in recent years, but rarely improvement is based on hybrid modulation. Therefore, we conduct a research on end-to-end mixed RF–FSO system with the hybrid pulse position modulation–binary phase shift keying–subcarrier intensity modulation (PPM–BPSK–SIM) scheme. The RF link obeys Rayleigh distribution and the FSO link experiences Gamma–Gamma distribution. The average bit error rate (BER) for various PPM–BPSK–SIM schemes has been derived with consideration of atmospheric turbulence influence and pointing error condition. The outage probability and the average channel capacity of the system are discussed as well. Simulation results indicate that the pointing error aggravates the influence of atmospheric turbulence on the channel capacity, and the RF–FSO systematic performance is improved obviously while adopting PPM–BPSK–SIM under strong turbulence and severe pointing error conditions, especially, when the system average symbol length is greater than eight.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the feasibility of using micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) to convert a binary phase shift keying (BPSK) signal to a simpler amplitude shift keying (ASK) scheme. Design/methodology/approach The prototype is designed within the SOIMUMPs® fabrication process constraints. The fabrication constraints imposed geometric limitations on what could be tested. These constraints were used to build a mathematical model, which in turn was used to optimize the response using MATLAB®. The optimized design was tested using finite element analysis with CoventorWare®, and finally lab tests on the fabricated device were performed to confirm theoretical predictions. Findings Theoretical predictions compared well with lab measurements on a prototype device measuring 2.9 mm2. The prototype was tested with a carrier frequency of 174 kHz at a BPSK data rate of 3 kHz and carrier amplitude of 6 V. With these parameters, ASK modulation indices of 0.96 and 0.94 were measured at the two output sensors. Originality/value This study provides a MEMS solution for BPSK to ASK conversion. The study also identifies what limits betterment of the modulation index and data rate. Such a device has potential application in wireless sensor network (WSN) nodes that have energy harvesters and sensors that are also built in MEMS. Being a MEMS device, it can facilitate integration in such WSN nodes and, hence, potentially reduce size and costs.

Abstract:
In this paper, we study the performance of Binary phase shift keying (BPSK) and Quartenary phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation signalling over fast and frequency non-selective Rayleigh fading channel with mobile digital communication and usually a decision feedback equalizer (DFE) at the receiver. Mobile communication is generally a complex process in which the input modulated signals propagate to the receiver over many different paths resulting in what is known as multipath propagation. Its main effects are delay spread and Doppler spread. These effects result in the channel being classified as fast and frequency non selective. Performances in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) with respect to the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) at different selected velocities of 10, 40, 70 and 100km/hr are investigated with Adaptive Equalizer. Simulation results are obtained using MATLAB 7.0 programming language. The results indicate that at all the velocities considered; there is an excessive degradation in the BER performance due to fading with both the BPSK and QPSK modulation schemes. However, the BER improves for BPSK modulation signalling scheme when a decision feedback equalizer is used at the receiver

Abstract:
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has become a valuable resource as a remote sensing technique. In the past decade, the use of reflected GNSS signals for sensing the Earth, also known as GNSS reflectometry (GNSS-R), has grown rapidly. On the other hand, with the continuous development of GNSS, multi-frequency multi-modulation signals have been used to enhance not only positioning performance, but also remote sensing applications. It is known that for some constellations, navigation satellites broadcast signals employing BPSK (binary phase-shift keying) modulation and BOC (binary offset carrier) modulation at the same frequency band. This paper proposes a new GNSS-R measurement, called a composite delay-Doppler map (cDDM), by utilizing the received reflected GNSS signals with different modulation techniques for the purpose of retrieving wind speed. The GNSS-R receiver can receive BPSK and BOC signals simultaneously at the same frequency band (e.g., GPS III L1 C/A and L1C or QZSS L1 C/A and L1C) and process the signals to generate GNSS-R measurements. Exploration of the observable features extracted from the composite DDM and the wind speed retrieval algorithm are also provided. The simulation verifies the proposed method under a configuration that is specified for the orbital and instrument specification of the upcoming TRITON mission.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In a last few decades there has been tremendous growth and a drastic rise in wireless communication technologies. The major issue that the world is facing today with the advent of so many sophisticated wireless communication devices is efficient utilization of the spectrum. Spectrum efficiency comes together with a tradeoff factor of energy consumption. Thus, the need of the hour is an energy and bandwidth efficient technique. DS-CDMA is one of the competitive and most investigated technique in wireless communication which caters the large demand at the same time with limited bandwidth. Existing modulation techniques does not promise to provide better performance in case of higher noise. Therefore, one looks for a better BER stipulated modulation format to improve and enhance the performance of the system. This article revisits conventional Binary phase shift keying method and compares its performance in terms of BER with a special Extended Binary Phase Shift Keying (EBPSK) modulation format for a DS- CDMA system. EBPSK scheme is flexible and simple which is easily integrated in a network and assures improved and enhanced performance.

Abstract:
The bit error rate performance of a V-Blast encoded 8x8 MIMO MC-CDMA wireless communication system for different signal detection (MMSE and ZF) and digital modulation (BPSK, QPSK, DPSK, and 4QAM) schemes for grayscale image transmission has been investigated in this paper. The proposed wireless system employ ½-rated Convolution and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) channel encoding over the AWGN channel and Walsh Hadamard code as an orthogonal spread code. The present Matlab based simulation study demonstrates that the V-Blast encoded 8×8 MIMO MC-CDMA wireless system with the employment of 1⁄2- rated convolution and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) channel encoding strategies shows good performance utilizing BPSK digital modulation and ZF signal detection scheme in grayscale image transmission.

Abstract:
Substrate removing technique is proposed in silicon Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM) to improve the electro-optic bandwidth. Based on this technique, a silicon MZM with 3 dB electro-optical bandwidth of 55 GHz is achieved at 5 V reverse bias for the first time. The V[Formula: see text] L of the modulator is 1.3 V[Formula: see text]cm with an on-chip insertion loss of 5.4 dB. The substrate removing technique reduces the electrode transmission loss, achieves the electro-optical group index matching and realizes 50 [Formula: see text] impedance matching, simultaneously. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate BPSK modulation based on this modulator at the baud rate up to 56 Gb/s.

Abstract:
The modulation recognition of digital signals under non-cooperative conditions is one of the important research contents here. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, deep learning theory is also increasingly being applied to the field of modulation recognition. In this paper, a novel digital signal modulation recognition algorithm is proposed, which has combined the InceptionResNetV2 network with transfer adaptation, called InceptionResnetV2-TA. Firstly, the received signal is preprocessed and generated the constellation diagram. Then, the constellation diagram is used as the input of the InceptionResNetV2 network to identify different kinds of signals. Transfer adaptation is used for feature extraction and SVM classifier is used to identify the modulation mode of digital signal. The constellation diagram of three typical signals, including Binary Phase Shift Keying(BPSK), Quadrature Phase Shift Keying(QPSK) and 8 Phase Shift Keying(8PSK), was made for the experiments. When the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) is 4dB, the recognition rates of BPSK, QPSK and 8PSK are respectively 1.0, 0.9966 and 0.9633 obtained by InceptionResnetV2-TA, and at the same time, the recognition rate can be 3% higher than other algorithms. Compared with the traditional modulation recognition algorithms, the experimental results show that the proposed algorithm in this paper has a higher accuracy rate for digital signal modulation recognition at low SNR.
