Full textRoe, as a product of Jacobean society, perceived Mughal events and institutions from an early seventeenth century English context, thus limiting any hope of "objective" reporting. To substantiate this assertation, this thesis investigates (a) Roe's life in England and how it related to ongoing literary and political movements; (b) the appearance of Jacobean language and metaphors in his text; (c) and highlighting these incongruencies by examining indigenous Mughal documents. Lastly, the study researches historiographical trends of the colonial era and why they have contributed to the consistent use of this source.

Full textIdén med examensarbetet var att konstruera en generell radiolänk med minsta möjliga storlek, som skulle kopplas samman med en redan befintlig konstruktion. Radiokrets CC1100 från Chipcon används tillsammans med mikroprocessor MSP430 från Texas Instruments. För att
radiomodulen skall klara ett stort inspänningsområde används en spänningsstabilisator XC6202 från Torex. Det färdiga kortet är ett fyralagerskort med komponenter på en sida, med ett helt jordplan. Komponenterna är placerade så att de fyller sin funktion, samtidigt som de upptar minsta möjliga utrymme egentligen kanske detta med ska vara dåtid? . Med hjälp av en nätverksanalysator undersöktes antennanpassningen så att denna erhöll ett värde på nära 50
W. Radiokretsen programmerades och testades sedan.
The idea behind this project was to construct a general RF-module as small as possible and the RF-module should be able to connect to an existing design. A transceiver from Chipcon, CC1100, was used together with a microprocessor MSP430 from Texas Instruments. To make
the RF-module handle a wide input voltage range a voltage regulator, XC6202, from Torex was used. The circuit board is a four layer card with one layer ground and components on one side. The components are placed to full fill there purpose and at the same time make the card
as small as possible. With help from a network analyzer the network to the antenna was examined so it obtained a value near 50 W. The RF-module was programmed and tested with good result, but I didn’t participated.

Full textThis master thesis describes the development of an UPS module. UPS is an acronym for Uninterruptable Power Supply. The UPS module has been developed at the company AerotechTelub AB. The UPS module delivers the necessary voltage and current in case of a power interrupt. If a power interrupt occur, the computer system has one to three minutes available to store data and shut down correctly.
The UPS module consists of two parallel systems. Every system is built out of four parts. Part one consists of batteries and safety circuits, part two charges the batteries, partthree is a control unit, and part four delivers the voltage and current. The delivered voltage is 5 V and the current is 4 A.
Tests and verifications showed that the UPS module could supply a computer system with power for about one minute. The tests have been performed in a lab at AerotechTelub AB.
The UPS module is supposed to be mounted in a cassette. The cassette is then inserted in the computer system through a hole in the chassis. Thereby an opening of the computer system is avoided when the module is connected.

Full textThis report describes a master thesis which was done at the company Motion Control i Västerås AB. The report follows the project development stages and describes how the process of developing electronics and embedded software for a communication module has progressed. The purpose of the communication module is to serve as a link between a controller and an I/O device. The initial parts of the report consist of studies about the communication protocols PROFIBUS and PROFINET which are standard communication methods in the industry. The studies formed the basis for which protocol to be used in the module. PROFIBUS was chosen and a module was designed based on the determined requirements. Furthermore, the report describes how the hardware and firmware have been developed. The module was tested to verify that all requirements were met. Overall the project was successful and after some minor hardware changes the module could be used in products where PROFIBUS communication is desired.

Full textThis thesis has been conducted at Outotec in Skellefteå, Outotec is a Finnish company that supplies process and automation solutions for metal, mineral, energy and water industries. Hydraulics are included in many of Outotec's equipment’s and process solutions and because of this they have come to the idea of having a smaller hydraulic module for operating simple functions that use hydraulic cylinders. This thesis has been to develop a design concept for this small hydraulic module to operate the cylinders that are used to run simple functions in a metal melting plant. The work includes the development of a hydraulic diagram for the module where the necessary components are included, the calculation basis for selecting components to the module, a proposal on which significant and important components that can be used for the system and a design proposal on how the module might look at a completion. As a result of this, a decision basis was developed in order to complete the module. The decision data are based on calculations made on the components that will be needed in the module and the various functions that the module is supposed to run. The bigger components are selected and can be seen as a guideline for a final decision, so it is possible to choose a similar product but with other dimensions or products from another manufacturer. The result also includes a hydraulic diagram describing the function of the module and which components that should be included when the module is completed. A draft of the design and layout is designed for the module, this does not contain all the components, but the main components are included such as the tank, motor and accumulator.

Full textDuring the last decade, the freight bicycle has experienced sort of a revival. Historically, the freightbicycle has been used extensively for deliveries of mail and goods only to become replaced by themodern car. Considering the environmental problems that have come about as a result ofhumanity’s dependence on modern four-wheeled vehicles, a demand for emission-free vehicles hasrisen. Companies, cities and municipalities have realized the potential of the modern freight cycle tosolve these problems. In line with modern technology, commercial freight bicycle has been equippedwith an electric motor, which enables many new areas of applications for the freight bicycle, manyof which the freight bicycle can replace the car as the primary mode of transportation. Some of thepossible uses are delivery of goods in urban environment and metropolitan areas, bicycle cab andmobility service. In this study, a concept of a module for a bicycle taxi has been developed through asystematic product development process. The material for the concept is selected using CES EduPackwhere its environmental impact is also studied by the way of a life cycle analysis using the functionEcoAudit within the same program. The concept is brought to life by a 3D-model using SolidWorks.
