The present research work was carried out in order to develop simple, accurate and precise UV sprctrophotometric methods having comparable sensitivity as that of sophisticated chromatographic techniques. Two methods were developed namely first derivative spectrophotometry and ratio spectra derivative spectrophotometry for accurate determination of specified impurity methimazole (imp A) in presence of drug carbimazole. First derivative spectrophotometric method involves recording of zero order spectra of both the drugs carbimazole and methimazole and its mixture in the range of 200-400 nm and s

The present work describes the application of spectrophotometric method for the determination of manganese (Mn) used in water samples collected from the coastal zone of the Black Sea. We studied a colorimetric method for the determination of manganese using UVVIS molecular absorption spectrophotometry. We measure absorbance of the 450 nm charge transfer band of permanganate. In all analysed samples we found that the levels of manganese did not exceed the pollution threshold.

Abstract:
Three new, simple, sensitive and selective spectrofluorimetric and spectrophotometric methods were developed for the determination of the γ-amino-n-butyric acid derivative, pregabalin. Pregabalin as a primary amine reacts with fluorescamine to yield a fluorescent product (Method I), with 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (Method II) and 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (Method III) in aqueous alkaline buffered media to form colored products which could be measured spectrophotometrically. The optimum conditions for each reaction were ascertained and the methods were applied for the determination of

Methods for the complete characterization of liposomes prepared by ether-injection are described in detail. The validity of atomic absorption spectrophotometry Ior measuring markers of trapped volume was checked by comparative determinations of markers with established optical spectrophotometrical methods. The favorable results usingl atomic absorption spectrophotometry to quantitate the marker Mn2+ are of particular relevance as manganese ion is also the paramagnetic probe in n.m.r, measurements of water permeability of lipo-somes; our results indicate that in such measurements no other marke

The aims of the study were the comparison of granules, in terms of dissolution rate and moreover the development of spectrophotometric method to the simultaneous determination of both active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in granules. The granules were tested by two pharmacopoeial methods of dissolution for solid dosage forms, and the dissolution profiles for each formulation were compared.
