Abstract:
This paper looks at how local women understand and cope with monga and attempt to shape the government’s monga mitigation policy. Monga is often defined by scholars and policy-makers as seasonal, periodic famine. That is, it is a time of special food and economic crisis that occurs annually. In contrast, this study defines monga as obhab or chronic poverty that exists throughout the year. In other words, it does not confine monga to a specific time period. This conceptualization of monga can help change its mitigation policies that currently centers largely on “relief” for a limited period. Th

For Ancient Greeks, beauty was a characteristic of individuals and actions that they considered to be morally good. Greek statuary and art in general project beauty based on the assumption that outward appearance reflects personal virtues (Tytler, 1982, p. 36). Pythagoreans, for example, held that ugliness expressed confusion and turmoil, and that beauty was a material expression of universal truth. In more modern times, and in many ways envisaging today’s materialistic societies, Kant expresses a certain perplexity that beauty is perceived primarily as a pleasurable response to exterior form

Abstract BACKGROUND Random forest classifiers can predict survival and progression status with radiomic features. Here, we compare the predictions of radiomic, histomic, and genomic features on progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with low-grade glioma (LGG). METHODS We identified patients from our institution and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) with LGG and analyzed histopathology, mRNA expression, and MRI sequences. Differential gene expression analysis was performed to obtain top gene expression values. Discriminative feature-oriented dictionary learning (DFD

Abstract:
Abstract Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are deadly, Ras-driven sarcomas that lack effective therapies. Many tumors are unresectable and toxic chemotherapies are ineffectual. The sensitivity of MPNSTs to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies is not known, although sarcomas are generally unresponsive. Patient tumor analyses comparing MPNSTs to benign precursors identified Ras effectors, MEK and CDK4/6 kinases, as rational targets for therapy. We tested the efficacy of dual MEK-CDK4/6 inhibition versus single drug therapy using preclinical MPNST models. In MPNST cells, low

In Bangladesh, rural–urban migration is widespread. Many earlier studies discussed the factors, patterns, causes, and consequences and the socio-economic and environmental impact of migration from the general perspective. However, rural–urban migration with a particular focus on particular communities or migrants’ employment profiles, for instance, farmers, is poorly described. In contrast, many farmers move from rural to urban areas every year in Bangladesh. However, the factors that affect farmers’ rural-to-urban migration are a primary concern to academia and key actors, as the country’s ec

Abstract Management of neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is extremely difficult not only because available therapeutic regimens cannot effectively kill NEPC cells but also due to the aggressive, highly metastatic nature of NEPC cells to invade distant organs. Development of effective therapeutic agents for NEPC is urgently needed but is suffering from lack of proper understanding about critical and selective molecular targets. Recent molecular analyses revealed that the pseudokinase, Tribbles 2 (TRIB2), is consistently overexpressed both in the treatment emergent as well as de novo NEPC ce
