Journalism in Mongolia has been understudied at the level of international researchers and has remained largely unnoticed. Mongolian journalism studies are usually published in Mongolian or in local academic circles, which may have limited access to the international academic community. This article focuses on how journalism in Mongolia has evolved over 110 years, as well as the current situation and the challenges. The Mongolian media industry began with the first newspaper called "Shine Toli Hemeeh Bichig" in 1913. Currently, the industry has grown to fully operational 451 media outlets

The author of this article aims to show the development trends of modern Mongolian television journalism, the observed positive and negative phenomena using specific examples of television programs and broadcasts. The factors and reasons that contributed to the emergence of existing shortcomings were also identified and their solutions were proposed. The author concludes that in the future it is necessary to take a serious step towards the transition from quantity to quality and create a legal framework aimed at creating a healthy environment for TV channels to compete with each other.
