Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate the concept of a graduate’s satisfaction profile with educational programs, which includes a number of parameters. This concept is proposed to be introduced in connection with monitoring the satisfaction of university graduates with educational programs. The methodology for measuring graduate satisfaction is based on the use of quantitative (questionnaires, the results of which are processed in SPSS) and qualitative (interviewing) methods. Graduates’ satisfaction with the quality of higher education is considered as a subjective assessment of the quality of their education. The proposed and tested methodology can become the basis for the development of a university system for monitoring the satisfaction of university graduates with educational programs and a university quality management system.

Abstract:
The monitoring of graduates from Professional and Technological Education - EPT is of utmost importance to assess whether the "graduate profile" envisaged in the pedagogical projects of the courses, based on the evaluation of the path taken by former students after completing their courses, has been achieved. Scientific productions dedicated to the study of this theme address topics that encompass the reality and aspirations of graduates regarding their insertion into the labor market, the continuation of their studies, as well as the implementation and evaluation of public policies in this modality. Beyond recognizing the relevance of this monitoring, it is urgent to also acknowledge that its achievement brings several difficulties for the managers of institutions who recognize its importance but understand it as a medium to long-term action that requires considerable planning and allocation of resources and personnel that these institutions, as a rule, do not have. This article aims, in light of works addressing the challenges of monitoring graduates and field research conducted within the scope of the Graduate Program in Professional and Technological Education - ProfEPT and which originates from it, to present a tool aimed at directors and coordinators of technical course programs, with the purpose of enabling the automation of procedures inherent to the monitoring of EPT graduates, allowing for bulk work, avoiding the need for individual approaches, and assisting them in the process of seeking information from graduates, as well as in the analysis, comparison, and archiving of this information.

Abstract:
The advantages and problems of job search and employment methods for graduates of higher educational institutions have been studied. Author’s monitoring has shown that recently every third graduate is a certified unemployed. In modern socio-economic conditions, graduates of higher schools find themselves disoriented in the labor market. 60% work outside their specialty for reasons: 35.7% — it is difficult to find a job; 35.7% — low pay; 17.9% — got a more interesting job; 3.6% — do not like the specialty they received; 7.1% — other reasons. The factors for this are: imbalance of the labor market and the market of educational services; dissatisfaction of employers with the quality of professional education of graduates of educational institutions; low level of interest of educational institutions in the employment of graduates; inflated self-esteem of graduates of their professional level. The author’s monitoring made it possible to identify the most effective methods of employment and determine measures to improve them.

Abstract:
How do European Arts and Humanities (A&H) graduates contribute to their economies and societies? This paper aims to answer this challenging research question by analysing data from the 2018 pilot Eurograduate survey of graduates. The article explores the monitoring of employment dynamics and considers the labour market outcomes of A&H graduates compared to other graduate groups. Our analysis enables an understanding of the utilisation of A&H graduates’ knowledge and skills in the current employment market (job-qualification match) and more specifically, their contribution to legal, social and cultural occupations. The dataset variables enable an exploration of the multiple contributions made by A&H graduates to other aspects of contemporary society. Specifically, we examine graduates’ volunteering activity during and after their degree, alongside other forms of civic engagement, including political and social action. The findings contribute to the broader debate on the value and impact of A&H degrees beyond measurements of graduate earnings.

Abstract:
Change management in the field of training and certification of academic personnel implies a reliable information support in the form of statistical and sociological data that enable the monitoring of the effectiveness of the institution of doctoral education. The current system for monitoring the activities of doctoral schools does not fully meet these requirements, thus making it difficult to assess objectively the implementation of doctoral education’s main function – the training of researchers and faculty for higher education. The article attempts to fill this information lacuna by presenting an analysis of the database created by the authors which contains information about the defense of dissertations and research results of PhD students who graduated in 2013 from nine Russian universities over the five-year period after their graduation (N = 1178). Information on the results of each graduate’s research activities was obtained from open sources: the portal of the Higher Attestation Commission, the electronic catalog of the Russian State Library, Scopus and eLibrary.ru databases, as well as the database of the Industrial Property Institute. As a result of our research, it was established that the actual timeframe of doctoral students’ advancement to their academic degree is determined by discipline-related factors. In the sample as a whole, the share of persons who defended their dissertations was 45% of the total number of graduates, which is 1.7 times higher than the share of graduates who defended their dissertations in the course of their studies at the doctoral school. Approximately 90% of graduates defend their dissertations no later than two years after graduation from the doctoral school. The quantitative data of doctoral school graduates’ retention in the academic field are given, with the breakdown by discipline. On average, more than 60% of Candidate of Sciences degree holders continue their careers in academic positions. The obtained data on Russian doctoral school graduates are in good agreement with the results of monitoring doctoral programs’ graduates in Europe and the USA. The results of this work make it possible to take a fresh look at the methodology for diagnosing the effectiveness of university doctoral schools.

Abstract:
The object of research is databases of graduates of educational institutions that need to be digitalized and prepared for analysis. The study highlights the formation of a digital database out of the graduates among educational institutions for monitoring the implementation of educational and intellectual potential. Monitoring procedures for tracking the implementation of educational and intellectual potential are an important component of making managerial decisions to balance supply and demand in professional labor markets, make better use of the human potential of economic development, and reform educational institutions in accordance with the latest public needs. Monitoring procedures for tracking the employment of graduates are an important element of Education Management. The study highlights the technology of preparing and forming databases of graduates of educational institutions for further work with them (conducting a survey, summarizing and visualizing its results) using Microsoft Excel. For this purpose, methods of intelligence analysis of data, ranking and classification of statistical populations, and data mining technologies are used. Approaches to structuring and coding graduate data are described. The mechanism for creating a digital database is provided with arguments and descriptions of all the structural components of the database: fields, headers, and records. The description of the sequence and results of working with databases is given on the example of data from graduates of higher educational institutions of the Lviv region. These technologies for working with databases were obtained during the implementation of the regional development project within the framework of EU sectoral support, which was implemented in the Lviv region (Ukraine) in 2018–2020 with the participation of the authors. The proven method of forming digital databases highlighted in the study is only a stage of monitoring the implementation of the educational and intellectual potential of graduates of educational institutions of the Lviv region. Method can be used and scaled to other regions of Ukraine without significant changes or to educational institutions of different levels with minor clarifications. At the same time, the creation of such databases at the national level would increase the effectiveness of monitoring the employment of graduates. The proposed methodology is universal and allows for national research, as well as provides opportunities for international comparisons of educational and intellectual potential.

Abstract:
South Africa reportedly has one of the highest rates of unemployment in the world. Graduate unemployment parallels the country’s overall unemployment rate, with the youth being the most vulnerable group. Hence, work experience programmes are offered to prepare fresh graduates for the labour market. The purpose of this paper is to explore the experiences of graduates in a work experience programme. This paper adopted a qualitative approach to elicit the experiences of graduates regarding the graduate work experience programme. A total of 30 face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted with graduates sampled from the eThekwini municipality’s work experience programme. The results indicate that while graduates participate in a work experience programme to gain skills and work experience needed to secure jobs and for professional registration purposes, they experience numerous challenges in the programme. These challenges include ill-treatment from senior staff members, lack of work resources, and unreasonable workload. It was also evident that graduates were unsatisfied about the work experience programme owing to the poor or lack of mentorship and the irrelevancy of the programme itself. This paper offers important evidence which suggests the need to develop work experience programme policy and monitoring and evaluation systems in order to improve the experiences of graduates in the programme. Received: 21 April 2022 / Accepted: 20 August 2022 / Published: 2 September 2022

Abstract:
The labour market started to make a difference between the diplomas issued by higher educational institutions. The decision of prospective students considerably depends on the labour market value of a certain diploma. Career monitoring of graduates is a very important task of higher educational institutions. Feedback and experiences from the graduates and the employers are valuable sources of information for the institutions to shape their teaching activities in order to meet the actual demand of the labour market. Career monitoring of graduates is not a common activity at present in Hungary. Some institutions regularly monitor the labour market position of their graduates, but unfortunately most institutions do not invest time or manpower in such activities. A country level study has already been introduced that included almost all the higher educational institutions in Hungary. This study, coordinated by the Hungarian Ministry of Education, appears ready to be continued. The aim of this study is to introduce some institutional and country level initiations of career monitoring.

The present paper aimed to analyze the perception of graduates of integrated technical courses of a Federal Institute of Education, regarding their employability. The research is descriptive, of the documentary type, and were used data from the 2020 Graduate Monitoring Survey. Then a significant number of graduates seek verticalization of studies, prioritizing entry into higher education over entry into the labor market. The theoretical foundation addresses the relationship between education and work and, more specifically, professional education and the world of work. Other than that, few graduates are working and among those who have a job, a low percentage works in their area of technical training. In addition, the graduates stated that there are few job opportunities in the area of training. Thus, there is a disconnection between the objectives of the graduates with the completion of the technical course at the institution and some objectives of the Brazilian Professional Education Policy; as well as between the offer of courses and the demands of the local and regional productive sector.

Abstract:
Background: Higher educational institutions must prepare graduates for careers by monitoring their performance. They must also evaluate academic relevancy to practical needs. The PR program at Universitas Padjadjaran strives to deliver the best education and monitor graduates’ performance. Purpose: This paper aims to study how graduates’ first income is associated with GPA, study duration, and job wait time. This study also linked public relations education with graduates’ current position in their work based on their self-assessment. Methods: Using tracer study data from the Career and Development Centre of Universitas Padjadjaran, exploratory data analysis was done to examine the characteristics of graduates based on the observed variables. The bivariate analysis investigated the association between income, GPA, study duration, and job wait time. Conclusion: Findings of this study show no statistical evidence of the relationship between first salary, GPA, and duration of the study. Exploratory data analysis shows that PR program graduates perform well when comparing the average income of undergraduates on a national level. Graduates’ self-assessment of study relevancy indicated that most graduates possess the relevant educational background and appropriate level of education for their current occupational position. As the statistical testing for this study was conducted post hoc, careful considerations need to be taken when taking the results at face value, considering potential flaws in the sampling frame and the power of the tests. Implications: The findings in this study would serve as a platform for future references on graduates or tracer study, more specifically public relations graduates, as it provides a starting point for measuring graduates’ performances. As the database provides more data with more graduates in future years, an updated finding of this particular study would be very important to measure how well graduates fare post-graduation.

Abstract:
This paper is an analysis of the salary levels in a group of people who graduated, in 2014, from Polish higher-education institutions with agricultural degrees, i.e. degrees in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, veterinary science, zootechnics and fishery. This analysis is based on data from reports published as part of the Polish National System for Monitoring the Situation of Polish University Graduates. In a group of 1,953 graduates with agricultural degrees, the average gross salary in the fourth year after graduation amounted to PLN 3,416.85. This shows that the salary paid to such graduates after four years of work was lower than the average salary in Poland for all working year-2014 graduates with second-cycle degrees (PLN 3,765.30) and long-cycle master-level degrees (PLN 4,209.21). Moreover, the data shows that the highest average pay in the fourth year after graduation is earned by graduates with forestry degrees. It is worth noting that the results of the study are relative in nature. If other degrees, such as biotechnology, food technology or human nutrition, were included in the analysis, the classification would probably be different. This paper is by no means an exhaustive explanation of the topic and, given the limitations mentioned above, should be regarded as a contribution to further analyses.

Abstract:
This article is the first in a series of papers dedicated to the career and educational trajectories of recent Master’s graduates in Russia. The research focuses on the specifics of educational transitions from Bachelor’s to Master’s degrees and is based on administrative data for Russia (Monitoring of Graduate Employment), which covers all university graduates in the country. The data show that 66% of Master’s graduates are recent Bachelor’s graduates who have continued their studies within five years of their previous education. 36% of full-time bachelor’s graduates enter a master’s programme in the first few years after graduation, and 93% of them do not take a break from their studies. About a quarter of continuing Bachelor’s graduates change their field of study at Master’s level. Changing university or region is much less common, although part-time bachelor graduates and those who took a break between bachelor and master are more likely to do so. A series of probit regressions were used to identify characteristics associated with continuing on to a Master’s degree, as well as changing field of study, university or region of study when moving from undergraduate to postgraduate study. The results show that graduates in technical and scientific fields, who studied full-time at more selective universities and who have high levels of academic achievement, are more likely to continue their studies at Master’s level. The more time elapses after a Bachelor’s degree, the more likely Master’s students are to change their educational trajectory, including their field of study, university, and region of study. Honours graduates from selective Bachelor programmes are less likely than others to change their educational trajectory. The specificity of educational transitions allows us to identify several segments of Master’s education (the same educational pathway as Bachelor’s and ‘basic education’), which may lead to different labour market outcomes of graduates

Abstract:
Research background: Despite a fairly long tradition of measuring students’ assessment of the quality of obtained university education, there are still many unresolved issues in this area. The aim of the study: to theoretically substantiate the concept of a profile of graduates’ satisfaction with university educational programs including several parameters. The satisfaction profile serves as a criterion of the quality of education, at the same time reflecting students’ subjective assessment of the learning outcomes received at the university that they correlate with their expectations at the stage of admission. The concept is proposed in association with the monitoring of university graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs developed and tested as part of the research work at the Russian State Social University. Methods: graduate satisfaction is assessed using quantitative (questionnaires, the results of which are processed in SPSS) and qualitative (interviews) research methods. The proposed and tested method for the assessment of university graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs can serve as a basis for the development of university systems for monitoring graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs and education quality management and the satisfaction profile can become a universal criterion of education quality assessment not only in Russian but also in foreign universities. Results and novelty: The novelty and significance of the study results lie in the fact that the rating of educational process factors significant for graduates’ satisfaction provides information that can be used for successfully placing the direction of training in the market of educational services. Moreover, two ratings of the importance of the identified factors are constructed. The first one reflects the respondents’ direct assessment that can be used in advertising and information campaigns in the market of educational services. The second rating shows indirect assessment providing a more adequate image of the real impact of various factors on graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs; the results of this rating can be used in the intra-university quality management.

Abstract:
The aim of this publication is to assess the relationship between the effectiveness of university management and the graduate's position on the labor market. The implementation of the goal serves to verify the following hypothesis: the higher the effectiveness of educational institutions, the better the graduate's position on the labor market. Additionally, two specific goals were adopted: 1) identification of variables important for shaping the university's potential and the direction of their influence; 2) identification of variables important for shaping the graduate's position on the labor market and the direction of their impact. The study used a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach, which perfectly relates observable variables to difficult-to-measure variables. The data concerns Poland and comes from the Scientific Achievement Assessment System and the Graduates' Economic Career Monitoring System. As a result of the analyses, it was confirmed that there is a positive relationship between the university's potential and the situation of graduates on the labor market. It was also shown that the factors influencing the improvement of the university's potential, which should be taken into account in the management process, are the following variables: expenditure on teaching activities and the share of the number of teachers with academic degrees in the total number of teachers. In turn, the improvement of the situation of graduates on the labor market is determined primarily by the extension of the average time of looking for a job.

A wealth of research has been amassed documenting the effectiveness of drug treatment courts in addressing the needs of substance-abusing individuals involved with the criminal justice system. However, there is a relative dearth of research that examines the long-term impact of these programs on recidivism rates for both drug treatment court graduates and those unsuccessfully discharged from the program. In this study, we examine which demographic and programmatic/legal factors influence program disposition and recidivism rates of participants (both graduates and those unsuccessfully discharged) across the 5 years following their discharge from a drug treatment court program located in a suburban city in the Midwest. The study sample consists of 249 ( N = 249) male participants who have been out of the program for more than 5 years. Results from the univariate and multivariate analyses are provided, as well as policy implications, directions for future research, and study limitations.

ImportanceKidney disease is common in infants admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Despite the risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in infants discharged from the NICU, neither evidence- nor expert-based recommendations exist to guide clinical care after discharge.ObjectiveTo develop recommendations for risk stratification and kidney health monitoring among infants after discharge from the NICU.Evidence ReviewAt the National Institute of Health–supported Consensus Workshop to Address Kidney Health in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Graduates meeting conducted in February 2024, a panel of 51 neonatal nephrology experts focused on 3 at-risk groups: (1) preterm infants, (2) critically ill infants with acute kidney injury (AKI), and (3) infants with critical cardiac disease. Using established modified Delphi processes, workgroups derived consensus recommendations.FindingsIn this modified Delphi consensus statement, the panel developed 10 consensus recommendations, identified gaps in knowledge, and prioritized areas of future research. Principal suggestions include risk stratification at time of hospital discharge, family and clinician education and counseling for subsequent kidney health follow-up, and blood pressure assessment as part of outpatient care. Conclusions and RelevancePreterm infants, critically ill infants with AKI, and infants with critical cardiac disease are at increased risk of CKD. We recommend (1) risk assessment at the time of discharge, (2) clinician and family education, and (3) kidney health assessments based on the degree of risk. Future work should focus on improved risk stratification, identification of early kidney dysfunction, and development of interventions to improve long-term kidney health.

Abstract:
The paper explores the tension between humanizing and dehumanizing aspects of doctoral education ("doctorateness") in Ph.D. mentorship programs. It calls for a shift towards a more humane approach that prioritizes integrity, ethics, and the well-rounded development of doctoral candidates. Universities traditionally aim to bridge knowledge gaps and foster ethical research, but a failure to do so can lead to a dehumanized doctoral experience. Scholars emphasize the need for universities to cultivate humane environments that nurture innovative solutions through quality doctoral mentorship. This approach equips graduates with the technical and emotional intelligence needed to tackle global challenges. The true essence of "doctorateness" lies in a humanized process that fosters research, innovation, and capacity building. Quality doctoral graduates embody humanizing attributes and go beyond mere technical proficiency process. However, the current focus on quantity often results in graduates lacking the skills and humanity sought by employers. Universities must address these gaps by developing programs that train postgraduates in a humane environment. The root cause of graduate unemployment lies not in the number of graduates, but in the lack of quality, integrity, and humanizing elements embedded in doctorateness programs. An exploration of "doctorateness" within supervision processes highlights deficiencies in program approval, supervisor allocation, and the lack of robust monitoring mechanisms. The current landscape falls short of ideals that prioritize a humane and transformative doctoral experience. The paper proposes steps to cultivate a more humane doctoral mentorship environment: Integrate humanizing aspects into doctoral program approval, prioritize supervisor consultation for manageable workloads, provide comprehensive training for new supervisors, Implement ongoing monitoring and evaluation throughout the doctoral journey. By adopting these recommendations, universities can foster a doctoral mentorship environment that balances academic rigor with the holistic development of scholars, navigating the humanity inherent in academia.

Abstract:
Life Skills Education (PKH) is one approach in non-formal education that teaches skills, enabling individuals to think critically, make informed decisions, manage emotions and communicate effectively. In Indonesia, the PKH program is integrated with specific skills training, one of which is beautician skills. One of the institutions that organize the PKH beauty styling skills program is the Ungaran Learning Activity Center (SKB). The PKH beauty styling skills program held at SKB Ungaran aims to equip the community with practical skills to support economic independence and form competent and professional human resources, so that they are able to compete in the industry and the world of work. However, the real impact of this program has not been analyzed. Knowing the impact of SKB Ungaran's PKH beauty program on the socioeconomic conditions of graduates is a picture of the success of the program's objectives in the real world. This study aims to analyze the impact of the program on the socioeconomic condition of its graduates as well as to describe the profile of graduates of SKB Ungaran's PKH beauty styling skills program who have become employed or entrepreneurs, and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors of the program. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study collected data through interviews, observation and documentation studies. Respondents totaling 10 program graduates were selected using purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman Interactive Analysis model. The results showed that the program had a positive impact on the socio-economic level of graduates. The graduates produced by the program reflect competent and professional human resources in the field of beauty. Challenges were found in the form of a lack of a graduate tracking system and limited communication media to support graduates. This article recommends strengthening the monitoring system and expanding access to employment opportunities and further training.

Abstract:
The main problem addressed in this study is the mismatch between the training of qualified personnel and the needs of individuals, the economy and society. Vocational education and training (VET) plays an important role in providing opportunities for the continuous development of individual skills. In this context, the results of monitoring studies on the career trajectories of VET graduates will contribute significantly to the matching of acquired skills and competences with labour market requirements. Currently, in Ukraine, such monitoring research is carried out irregularly and unsystematically. Moreover, there is no common methodology for collecting reliable information on the success of VET graduates, their subsequent employment or the application of acquired skills in their work. The purpose of this article is to develop methodological recommendations for conducting monitoring studies on the career trajectories of VET graduates. The proposed methodological recommendations are developed for the first time and are based on surveys of a homogeneous group of graduates conducted one year after graduation. The research tool proposed is a questionnaire consisting of 11 modules covering all aspects of graduates' career trajectories – from the choice of VET institution and profession to individual assessments of job satisfaction. The methodological recommendations also outline a set of indicators designed to facilitate an objective assessment of graduates’ employment status, their position in the labour market, and the relevance of the knowledge and skills acquired during training to labour market needs. Further research is needed to complement survey data with data from administrative registers. Thus, in order to obtain a comprehensive assessment of the career trajectories of VET graduates, it is advisable to combine data from the software and hardware complex "AICOM" with data from the State Register of Compulsory State Social Insurance.

Abstract:
In modern conditions, the task of integrating science, education and innovation activities is of great importance. The need for highly qualified and proactive employees leads to the natural integration of the University and employers, who are the main external stakeholders and consumers of educational services. The article discusses the main forms of interaction between Polotsk State University and the main enterprises and organizations of the region. The main results of comprehensive monitoring of employers ‘satisfaction with the quality of training specialists in the higher educational institution are presented. The assessment of consumer satisfaction with educational services in the framework of this monitoring was carried out on the basis of a competence campaign. This is primarily due to the fact that the quality of education is determined precisely by the competencies formed by the graduate, which allow applying the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in solving specific professional tasks. The monitoring demonstrated a high level of development of a number of competencies, in particular the competence “ability to use information and communication technologies”, which highlights the fact that the educational programs of compulsory and additional education implemented at Polotsk State University provide the knowledge and practical skills necessary for using the latest ICT in professional activities. Employers have also identified the scarce skills of graduates, namely “Ability to take decisive action in case of uncertainty”, “Ability to anticipate a problem” and “Ability to use time effectively”. Based on the self-assessment of graduates, during their studies at Polotsk State University they have to a large extent developed the competences required for successful work in today’s economy. The success of Polotsk State University graduates is clear evidence of the high quality of their training.

Abstract:
In 2019, China achieved a milestone in higher education with a gross enrollment rate surpassing 50%, signifying the internationally recognized phase of “universalization”. In 2023, the escalating number of college graduates amounted to 11.58 million, an increase of 0.8 million over the last year, reaching a new high in scale. Despite this remarkable progress, the employment rate of college graduates has remained low and stagnant over the past two decades. This paradox highlights the pressing need to address the employment challenges faced by a growing number of college graduates in China. The existing supply structure of college graduates, including education levels, academic disciplines, spatial distribution, and core competencies, is inconsistent with the demand structure of the labor market. This mismatch emphasizes the necessity for both the supply and demand sides to collaborate in resolving the college graduate employment problem. By advancing the industrial structure, optimizing the configuration of higher education, and fostering a culture of innovation, a harmonious integration of the higher education system with economic development, market demands, and long-term planning can be achieved. The strategies proposed in this study offer practical solutions to promote sustainable employment for college graduates in China.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problems of studying the professional trajectories of graduates of pedagogical classes. The need for research in the monitoring mode is determined by the importance of identifying internal and external factors that influence the choice of pedagogical classes by graduates of professions and vocational education at different levels, as well as conditions that determine the productivity of their development of the main professional educational program. The results of the first stage of the study described in the article allowed us to conclude that despite the motivation of students of pedagogical classes, a wide range of pedagogical technologies used, a significant part of graduates make a choice not in favor of the pedagogical profession. This circumstance determines the need for a prolonged assessment of the productivity of pedagogical classes in the aspect of analyzing the content of the educational process. The conducted research allows us to identify ways to improve the effectiveness of the system of pre-professional training of a future teacher.

Abstract:
Abstract Starting points: In Slovenia, the higher education institution for nursing started exploring employability opportunities in nursing care in connection with the achievement of competencies from students’ and employers’ point of view. This article highlights the importance of monitoring nursing graduates’ employability. Its aim is to examine the employability of nursing care graduates based on the self-evaluation of competences obtained during the last study year and to establish a link between the self-evaluation of competences and students’ academic performance. Methodology: A questionnaire was distributed to full and part time nursing care students attending the last study year at five different healthcare/health sciences faculties in Slovenia and to employers (healthcare institutions) where the majority of nursing care graduates finds employment. We examined the level of competence achieved by nursing students and the level of competences required by employers. The sample included a total of 485 students. 194 surveys were returned, which represent a 40 percent response. We used Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for each individual joined competence. Further, we compared employability skills of students and employers with Mann-Whitney and Wilcox rank-sum test. For correlation between two variables we used Spearman correlation analysis. Results: The Mann-Whitney and Wilkson Rank test show that employers generally assess competences with a higher average grade in comparison to students and these differences are statistically significant. By applying the Spearman correlation analysis, we established that a statistically significant weak correlation may be observed between the “average grade” and “competences” variables. Discussion and conclusion: Our findings show that a continuous monitoring of general and subject-specific competences gained by students, along with a periodic verification of competences demanded by employers, is necessary. It is very important to monitor the requirements of the labour market in terms of ongoing communication with employers who can best estimate special knowledge needs.

Abstract:
The outflow of college graduates will damage the accumulation of regional human capital and affect regional economic and social development. This article uses the administrative data of the employment monitoring system for college graduates in a province in central China in 2018 and establishes a multivariate logit model based on the Todaro model, opportunity inequality theory, and the relative poverty hypothesis to analyze first employment place preferences and group differences of college graduates. The study found that college graduates tend to peer flow (returning to urban employment at the same level as the city of origin), and family background will promote peer flow. Also, graduates are more willing to work in large and medium cities with higher economic levels, and this employment ratio shows obvious differences in majors, college types, gender, and educational levels. Finally, college graduates from relatively low family status are more likely to experience upward or downward flow.
