Abstract:
This article re-examines the attention scholars have given to the origins of monoergenism and monotheletism and proposes a rebuttal to the positions of J. Tannous who, in an article in Dumbarton Oaks Papers in 2014, holds that these doctrines represented in Syro/Palestine certain “regional doctrinal hegemonies, at least among Chalcedonian communities, and were not artificial concoctions”. For the author, on the other hand, the episcopal sees in these regions had to have been for the most part in the hands of monophysites, without in any way excluding the possibility that there were also Chalcedonian bishops and communities as well, as in the case of Abraham of Rusafa. Thus, for the Author, monoenergism and monotheletism, from an epistemological and theological point of view, were the last glimmer of Apollinarism which was continually re-emerging from the ashes and given a new life by Severian monophysitism.

В настоящей статье анализируется одно выражение свт. Кирилла Александрийского (ок. 378-444). В своём «Толковании на Евангелие от Иоанна» (Ин. 6, 53) святитель, объясняя действие Евхаристии через сравнение с воскрешением дочери Иаира (Лк. 8, 53-54) посредством повеления Христа и протягивания Его руки, называет животворящую ἐνέργεια одной и сродной. В VII в. это место было введено моноэнергистами для доказательства того, что во Христе есть только одна ἐνέργεια. В статье сначала рассматривается, какое значение придавалось выражению «одна и сродная ἐνέργεια» различными поборниками моноэнергизма, прп. Максимом Исповедником (579/580-662), а также несколькими богословами Нового времени. После этого исследуется, что именно подразумевал сам свт. Кирилл, когда писал этот фрагмент. Автор приходит к выводу, что одна ἐνέργεια - это божественная ἐνέργεια, которая действует как через повеление, так и через прикосновение. Это не синтез божественной и человеческой энергий. Человеческая ἐνέργεια не упоминается в этом контексте, но из других мест становится ясным, что, согласно свт. Кириллу, Христос имеет также и человеческую ἐνέργεια. This article analyzes one expression of St. Cyril of Alexandria (c. 378-444). In his Commentary on John 6, 53, the archbishop elucidates the working of the Eucharist by comparing it with the raising of Jairus’s daughter through Christ’s command and the stretching of his hand. In this context St. Cyril calls the life-giving ἐνέργεια one and cognate. In the seventh century, this passage was adduced by the Monoenergists to argue that in Christ there was only one ἐνέργεια. In this article, at first it is studied what meaning was given to the phrase “one and cognate ἐνέργεια” by various Monoenergist protagonists, by Maximus the Confessor (579/80-662), and also by a few modern theologians. After that the author investigates what St. Cyril himself will have had in mind when he wrote this passage. He comes to the conclusion that the one ἐνέργεια is the divine ἐνέργεια, which is at work both through the command and through the touch. It is not a synthesis of the divine and human ἐνέργειαι. The human ἐνέργεια is not mentioned in this context, but from other passages it is made clear that according to St. Cyril, Christ also had a human ἐνέργεια.

Celem artykułu jest zrozu­mienie czy kwestia społeczno-kulturowa może być również przedmiotem kon­frontacji między Sofroniuszem z Jerozolimy a Sergiuszem z Konstantynopola. Poglądy Sofroniusza zostały uformowane w tradycji monastycyzmu palestyńskie­go, który był wierny wobec dosłownego wyznania chalcedońskiej chrystologii dwóch natur. W związku z tym wyraził on swój protest przeciwko stwierdzeniu o jednym działaniu w Chrystusie. W odpowiedzi Sergiusz z Konstantynopola opracował swoją taktykę, aby bronić stanowiska Konstantynopolitańskiego Koś­cioła i rządu. W konsekwencji powstało napięcie między dwoma patriarchami. Dyothelitisme yang diwakili oleh pemikiran Maximus the Confessor merupakan acuan di dalam memahami Kristologi dua natur – satu pribadi dari Chalcedon, yang diterima sebagai ortodoksi Gereja di dalam melawan ajaran Monothelitisme dan Monoenergisme. Abstract:
OBJECT Monoenergetic imaging with dual-energy CT has been proposed to reduce metallic artifacts in comparison with conventional polychromatic CT. The purpose of this study is to systematically evaluate and define the optimal dual-energy CT imaging parameters for specific cervical spinal implant alloy compositions. METHODS Spinal fixation rods of cobalt-chromium or titanium alloy inserted into the cervical spine section of an Alderson Rando anthropomorphic phantom were imaged ex vivo with fast-kilovoltage switching CT at 80 and 140 peak kV. The collimation width and field of view were varied between 20 and 40 mm and medium to large, respectively. Extrapolated monoenergetic images were generated at 70, 90, 110, and 130 kiloelectron volts (keV). The standard deviation of voxel intensities along a circular line profile around the spine was used as an index of the magnitude of metallic artifact. RESULTS The metallic artifact was more conspicuous around the fixation rods made of cobalt-chromium than those of titanium alloy. The magnitude of metallic artifact seen with titanium fixation rods was minimized at monoenergies of 90 keV and higher, using a collimation width of 20 mm and large field of view. The magnitude of metallic artifact with cobalt-chromium fixation rods was minimized at monoenergies of 110 keV and higher; collimation width or field of view had no effect. CONCLUSIONS Optimization of acquisition settings used with monoenergetic CT studies might yield reduced metallic artifacts.

Abstract:
Abstract John Damascene’s use of philosophical logic in his theological treatises has remained a somewhat unclear subject. We know that John compiled purely logical and philosophical works, such as the Institutio Elementaris and the Dialectica. But it is not clear how much, if at all, John’s purely philosophical projects contributed to his later theological work. In order to illuminate the issue, I shall take under investigation the Damascene’s implementation of the Aristotelian types of motion that are clearly found both in John’s philosophic and in his theological works. One of his theological works in which the Aristotelian types of motion are used in tandem with the intelligible motion is the De duabus in Christo voluntatibus. Taking this Christological work as a starting point, this article aims to shed light on the potential sources behind the Damascene’s use of the different types of motion and the significance thereof for his arguments against Monothelitism and Monoenergism.

Les termes logos (raison) et tropos forment un couple qui est très significatif pour la pensée de Maxime le Confesseur (c. 580-662). Dans notre thèse, nous examinons les contextes dans lesquels Maxime le Confesseur emploie le terme tropos (mode) soit à l’intérieur du couple logos-tropos, soit de façon autonome. Nous ne traitons pas le concept de tropos comme un terme invariant intégré à une doctrine uniforme, mais plutôt comme un moyen ou un «outil» conceptuel qui aide Maxime à résoudre des problèmes très différents dans plusieurs domaines de sa pensée. Nous examinons les différents contextes dans lesquels Maxime le Confesseur utilise le couple logos-tropos ou le seul terme tropos, comme, par exemple, la logique, la relation entre l’universalité et la particularité, la théologie trinitaire, la question du mal et la Théodicée, la cosmologie, la théorie du progrès spirituel, la théorie de l’achèvement ontologique, la christologie et l’eschatologie. Dans chaque cas, nous insistons sur les termes qui sont déterminés par le mot tropos et sur les relations de contraste, d’opposition ou tout simplement de distinction qui se forment entre eux. Nous examinons également le champ lexical des mots qui sont relatifs au terme tropos. En général, le logos exprime la stabilité et la permanence qui est nécessaire pour qu’il y ait un sens contemplé par le sage, alors que le tropos signifie une modalité qui ouvre la possibilité de contingence, de surprise et d’innovation à l’intérieur de l’Histoire. L’emphase est plutôt mise sur le fait que le tropos est exactement une modalité qui peut coexister avec le logos sans l’annuler, altérer ou corrompre
The terms logos (reason) and tropos (mode) form a very important couple in the thought of Maximus the Confessor (c. 580-662). In our PhD thesis, we are examining the contexts in which Maximus the Confessor is using the term tropos (mode) either inside the couple logos-tropos or independently. We are not developing the concept of tropos as a uniform doctrine, but we are examining it mostly as a means or as a conceptual “tool” which helps Maximus solving very different problems in diverse domains of his thought. We thus examine the use of the term tropos in contexts such as logic, the philosophical relation between universality and particularity, Trinitarian theology, the question of evil or Theodicy, cosmology, the stages of spiritual progress, the theory of the ontological actualization of beings, Christology and eschatology. In each case, we are insisting in the terms which are determined by the word tropos, the terms which are determined by the word logos, as well as the relations of contrast, opposition or simple distinction between them. We are equally examining the lexical field that is related to the term tropos. In general, logos expresses the stability and the permanence that are necessary for the existence of a meaning which could be contemplated by the philosopher, whereas tropos means a modality which opens a space for contingence, surprise and innovation inside History. The emphasis is placed on the fact that tropos is exactly a modality which can coexist with logos without annulling, altering or corrupting it

Efektyviam šildymo sistemos su šilumos siurbliais darbui didelę įtaka turi tikslus šilumos siurblio sistemos parinkimas. Projektavimo metu svarbu atsižvelgti į sistemos įrengimo ir eksploatavimo išlaidas. Skaičiuojant eksploatacines išlaidas reikia žinoti, kokiomis sąlygomis ir kokiu režimu dirbs šilumos siurblys ir koks galėtų būti jo sezoninis naudingumo koeficientas (angl. SPF – seasonal performance factor). Darbe nagrinėjamos realiai veikiančio šilumos siurblio energijos sąnaudos. Nustatyta, kad faktinis šilumos siurblio naudingumo koeficientas SPF atitinka standartų reikalavimus. Remiantis faktiniais duomenimis atliekama šilumos siurblio darbo režimų analizė. Nagrinėjami šie režimai: monovalentis, monoenergis, dvivalentis–alternatyvus ir dvivalentis–lygiagretus. Kaip papildomas (alternatyvus) šilumos šaltinis pasirenkamas gamtinių dujų katilas. Nustatyta, kad didžiausias elektros poreikis pastato šildymui yra monoenergio režimo atveju, mažiausias – dvivalenčio–alternatyvaus (0 °C). Didžiausios gamtinių dujų sąnaudos yra dvivalenčio–alternatyvaus (0 °C) režimo atveju, mažiausios – dvivalenčio–lygiagretaus (-5 °C). Didžiausia šilumos kaina yra dvivalenčio–alternatyvaus (0 °C) režimo atveju, mažiausia – monovalenčio režimo atveju. Didžiausios pradinės investicijos reikalingos monovalenčio režimo atveju, mažiausios – monoenergio.
