Pavle Mijović was a true giant of our science and culture, with whom it was an honor to collaborate. He demonstrated that Montenegrin heritage is part of Mediterranean culture and that the meeting of civilizations shaped Montenegrin uniqueness. The Đinovski painting family represents the last phase of post-Byzantine painting in Montenegro. They are characterized by precise drawing, respect for traditional iconographic schemes, harmonious coloring and realism of characters and scenes. In the less than four decades that they worked in Montenegro, they created a large number of icons and iconostases scattered throughout Montenegrin churches and monasteries. The influence of neoclassicism and academic realism on their artistic expression is noticeable, as well as their non-slavery to the painterly canons of Eastern Orthodox iconography.

This study analyzes the role of religion in Orthodox countries, where religion plays an important role when it comes to national identity, focusing on Serbia and Montenegro. Apart from analyzing this specific connection, the paper addresses the politicization of religion by both the state and religious institutions during the turbulent events in Montenegro between 2019 and 2020. Critical discourse analysis and the Discourse-Historical Approach is used to analyze the potential but significant shift in the ethnoreligious and nationalist discourse of Serbian Orthodox Church officials. Abstract:
The countries of Southeast Europe are facing severe demographic challenges. Falling birth rates, high levels of emigration, and a lack of a comprehensive family support system are leading to a rapid decline in population. All these factors are particularly true for the Western Balkan countries. We continue our analysis on Southeast Europe’s demographic situation with an overview of the trends in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

In other parts of the world, especially high-income countries, political will to repatriate is considerably lower. COVID-19 has further constrained nations in their efforts to repatriate law-abiding citizens, which is less controversial than FTF families. Based on discussio
