Abstract:
The study investigates the month-of-the-year effects in Nepalese stock market employing composite index along with other nine sub-indices between mid-July 17, 2007 and mid-July 15, 2017. The study finds statistically significant highest average monthly returns in the month of Ashad (mid-June - mid-July) among other eleven months. On contrary, the significantly negative return is found in the month of Bhadra (mid-August - mid-September). It indicates that the Nepalese stock market has specific returns patterns showing inefficient in weak-form of market efficiency.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the behavior of implied volatility in the form of day-of-the-week, year-of-the-month and surround the expiration of options. The persistence of volatility is modeled in ARCH/GARCH type framework. The empirical results have shown significant effects of the day-of-the-week, month-of-the-year and day of options expiration. The positive significant Monday effect explains that India VIX rises significantly on the initial days of the market opening, and the significant negative Wednesday effect shows that expected stock market volatility fall through Wednesday

I use the monthly closing price index (Indonesia Bond Indexes / INDOBeX) data for the periods of July 2003-July 2017 from Bloomberg. This Study uses a period between 1939-2017 to analyse calendar anomalies on the Swedish equity market. We test whether calendar anomalies’ return deviates from the return of ordinary trading days. Our result shows that the day of the week effect, weekend effect, turn of the year, turn of the month and holiday effect have had an impact on the daily rate of return, both domestic and abroad. Abstract This work details a microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) failure analysis case study for a produced water pipeline. A pipeline in a shale and tight asset experienced heavy corrosion and ultimate failure within a 7-month period, with estimated corrosion rate at 161 mils per year (MPY), or 4.1 mm per year (MMPY).
