Abstract:
OBJECTIVE. Structural and functional properties of erythrocytes were researched in patients with benign obstructive jaundice of different degree of severity. MATERIAL AND METHODS. Patients (n =81) with obstructive jaundice of benign genesis were examined at the period from 2013 till 2016. The control group consisted of 29 healthy patients. The atomic-force microscopy of erythrocytes was applied in all patients in order to study structural and functional properties of erythrocytes. RESULTS. There was noted, that growth of bilirubin conсentration caused the increase of erythrocyte size. Binocave

Introduction. Successful translating of the fundamental research results into clinical practice is determined by a sufficiently large number of components, including the age of experimental animals and the anesthesia used. Chloral hydrate is often used as an anesthetic in preclinical studies, while its effect on the morphofunctional characteristics of the hippocampus in aged animals remains unexplored, which can lead to significant distortion and incorrect interpretation of the obtain results. Aim. To identify the phylogenetic changes of the evolutionary process in the historical aspect of pig domestication. Domestication is the process of phylogenetic transformation of wild animals into domestic animals. The main role in this process belongs to artificial selection, especially its destabilizing form. Undoubtedly, as a result of destabilizing form of selection, wide phenotypic variation appears in domesticated pig populations. Methods. Using archaeological, morphological, biochemical, genetic and zootechnical methods of investigation, we were able to establish morphological features

A case of multicystic encephalomalacia in a deceased child aged 1 month 17 days is presented. The dynamics describes changes in the general condition of the child, morphofunctional changes in the brain. The tactics of treatment and resuscitation measures in dynamics are given. A rare case of the formation of huge cysts of both hemispheres of the brain in a child born with an intrauterine cytomegalovirus infection is presented. In this observation, the relationship between a congenital infection and hypoxic dysfunction and morphology of the cerebral hemispheres is considered.

Using a wide range of different physical and chemical methods, it was found that the oxidative stress caused by addition of hydrogen peroxide to the incubation medium has a significant effect on the conformation of haematoporphyrin, influencing the oxygen-binding properties of haemoglobin in red blood cells. Morphofunctional characteristics of red blood cells change; in particular, we have observed the transformation of erythrocytes, their transition into echinocytes. In erythrocytes, in response to increased lipid peroxidation (LPO) antioxidant enzymes become active. The use of natural antiox
