The paper deals with nouns that denote something smaller than the meaning implied by the base word. Given that there are different types of nouns (simple, compound, concrete, abstract), the author explores formation of diminutive forms in German and Croatian. Since these two languages are from different language families, it is important to consider cultural differences that appear while using diminutives. Similarities and differences and their translation equivalents are explored through contrastive analysis at the morphologi-cal and semantic level.

The authors of this work investigated the chronic toxicity of the feed additive. Chronic tox-icity was studied in white mongrel rats with daily intragastic administration in various doses for 28 days. The results of the studies showed that the feed additive doses not exhibit its toxic properties on the body of laboratory animals during long-term use. This experiment, no cases of intoxication and death of animals were noted. The positive effect of the drug on some indicators of morphologi-cal and biochemical parameters of blood was determined.

Abstract Two case studies involving localized waterside corrosion of copper and carbon steel tubing due to MIC are presented. In each case, the morphology of the affected surface, the elemental composition of deposits and corrosion products determined using SEM/EDXS, and results of the metallographic examination are discussed. It is shown that certain surface morphologies can only occur as a result of MIC. This finding would aid any metallurgical evaluation - especially if the sample is dry and water from the system is not available for testing to positively identify the presence of bacteria.
