Obesity is a rising global health burden. The accumulation of fat in the body is associated with metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and cancer. Currently available anti-obesity medications are not effective and safe to meet the medical need for obesity management. Prostaglandin E receptor subtype 4 (EP4) is involved in the development of adipocytes, but the signaling in adipogenesis and the effect on the regulation of energy homeostasis is not clear to understand. Thus, EP4 receptor and its signaling pathway are interest for research. The purpose of this

The aim of the present study was to further investigate the structure of collagen in mineralized tissues. Crosslink data collected for different ages of turkey leg tendon at the edge of mineralization showed no changes in the mature crosslink levels except those associated with mineralization. Increased arterial stiffness is a predictor of cardiovascular events and mortality across a diverse range of populations. Although gross-mechanical stiffness can be measured in vivo, in order to understand the pathological mechanisms it will be necessary to identify which local micro-structural remodelling events are the prime drivers of altered macro-mechanical function. However, characterisation of arterial structure by conventional histological approaches: i) commonly induces artefacts as a consequence of the sectioning process, ii) provides no insight into the three dimensional structure o

In the conventional ionomers, the ionic groups are placed randomly along the polymeric backbone resulting in a network structure that is rather poorly defined. Abstract:
CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior<br>The SÃo Miguel do Tapuio Circular Structure (SMTCS) is a remarkable geomorphological feature with 20 km diameter recognized in Mesopaleozoic sandstones of ParnaÃba Basin (Piauà State, Brazil). Studies concerning the origin of the SMTCS are divided between an endogenous origin and other caused by a meteoritic impact. In this study, we performed an extensive bibliographic research, analysis of the previous cartographic studies, field geology and laboratory works (remote sensing, geophysics, topography, petrography and geochronology).
