Abstract:
The purpose of the article was to determine the infestation with dominant helminths and helminthozoonosis of stray cats in the Moscow megapolis. Coproovoscopic examinations were conducted in the spring, summer and autumn of 2021. A total of 172 stray cats were examined, including 59 stray kittens under one year old. Infestation of stray cats with helminthozoonosis Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, Dipylidium caninum and helminth Taenia spp. was revealed. In previous years, we conducted studies of circus and Zoo carnivores of the feliform (Felidae), which were infested with various parasites, including helminthozoonosis. With Toxocara cati (=T. mystax) were infested: circus cats with EI (extensiveness of invasion) =10%, lions with EI=25%, Siberian tigers with EI=41.6%, leopards with EI=50%, and with Toxascaris leonina – circus Amur tigers and lions with EI = 100% and with the maximum number of eggs of Toxascaris in the summer – more than 21 000 in 1 g of feces. Helminthozoonosis Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina: domestic, circus and stray cats can be a source of human disease (especially children) and most often in the larval form larva migrans viscerale. Toxocara cati reached its maximum value in kittens under one year old in autumn (EI = 39.1%), and in stray cats older than a year in spring (EI = 36%). Toxascaris leonina was not found in stray kittens under one year old, and in stray cats older than a year, the maximum invasion value reached in spring (EI=20%). Dipylidium caninum in stray kittens reached the maximum value of invasion in spring (EI=47.6%) and autumn (EI=43.5%), and in stray cats older than a year in autumn (EI=50%). Taenia spp. in stray kittens under one year old, the maximum value of infestation reached in summer (EI=6.7%), and in stray cats older than a year in summer (EI=17.6%). Parasitic diseases contribute to the weakening of the immunity of animals and create more favorable conditions for the infestation of animals with viral and bacterial infections. Therefore, the detection of helminths and helminthozoonosis of not only Zoo, circus, domestic representatives of the feliform (Felidae), but also homeless cats remains an urgent problem of healing and prevention from parasitic diseases, which was the purpose of our article.

We analyze the concepts of “social health” (based on sociocentric, utilitarian, medical and social approaches), consider concept of “social activity”; research data reflecting the relationship between the social health of adolescents and their social activity are presented. In the process of analysis, we conclude that the social activity of the adolescent acts as one of the main factors of his social health, contributing to the development of socially significant knowledge, skills necessary for their self-realization and social adaptation in society, reflects his desire and the ability to build relationships with others, the inclusion of the personality of a adolescent in society. In the process of the analysis, we conclude that one of the main tasks of developing an adolescent’s personality is the formation of harmonious relations between an adolescent and society, that is, the development of his social health, which is possible only if the adolescent is included in active work on the development of social norms, rules, values, duties, where he would act not just as an observer, but as an active participant in what is happening. In order to empirically study the impact of social activity on the adolescent’s social health, a preliminary study was conducted in which adolescents from the Moscow State Budgetary Institution of Family Education Promotion Center “Y.V. Nikulin School of Circus Art” of the Moscow Department of Labor and Social Protection.

Introduction. For the time present, the active substances of many ice-melting agents used in Moscow are technical sodium and calcium chlorides. By degree of impact of sodium chloride on the human body is characterized as a moderately dangerous substance that belongs to the 3rd hazard class. Residents of megacities who remain unprotected from the possible harmful effects of these substances need the compliance of the ice-melting product’s application with appropriate security measures. Our research focused on the presence of these substances and their accompanying components in the transit environment and determining their actual and extreme loads to prevent possible functional changes in the future traffic chain objects. Material and methods. Chloride (Cl-) and sodium (Na+) content in the snow mass samples taken from the sites adjacent to motorways in Moscow were determined using ion chromatography. Other associated elements in the ice-melting agents were detected using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry method (ICP-MS). Results. According to the snow mass analysis as an object of transit accumulation and distribution of ice-melting reagents, the authors ranked results and identified clusters with different degrees of contamination for many indices. Selecting the group with very high contamination enabled us determine the indices’ levels that limit the use of deicing reagents. When using sodium-chloride reagents, they are the levels of the specific electrical conductivity (SEC) ≥ 4500 µS/cm, the concentration of chloride anions (Cl- ≥ 2500 mg/l), the concentration of sodium ions (Na+) ≥1500 mg/l, the index of total contamination (Zc).

Abstract. The Totten Glacier is rapidly losing mass. It has been suggested that this mass loss is driven by changes in oceanic forcing; however, the details of the ice–ocean interaction are unknown. Here we present results from an ice shelf–ocean model of the region that includes the Totten, Dalton and Moscow University ice shelves, based on the Regional Oceanic Modeling System for the period 1992–2007. Simulated area-averaged basal melt rates (net basal mass loss) for the Totten and Dalton ice shelves are 9.1 m ice yr−1 (44.5 Gt ice yr−1) and 10.1 m ice yr−1 (46.6 Gt ice yr−1), respectively. The melting of the ice shelves varies strongly on seasonal and interannual timescales. Basal melting (mass loss) from the Totten ice shelf spans a range of 5.7 m ice yr−1 (28 Gt ice yr−1) on interannual timescales and 3.4 m ice yr−1 (17 Gt ice yr−1) on seasonal timescales. This study links basal melt of the Totten and Dalton ice shelves to warm water intrusions across the continental shelf break and atmosphere–ocean heat exchange. Totten ice shelf melting is high when the nearby Dalton polynya interannual strength is below average, and vice versa. Melting of the Dalton ice shelf is primarily controlled by the strength of warm water intrusions across the Dalton rise and into the ice shelf cavity. During periods of strong westward coastal current flow, Dalton melt water flows directly under the Totten ice shelf further reducing melting. This is the first such modelling study of this region to provide a valuable framework for directing future observational and modelling efforts.

The dynamics of thermoabrasion coasts on loose sediments under permafrost conditions are highly variable due to several factors: length of the dynamic period of the year, mechanic composition of the frozen ground and its ice content, hydrometeorological conditions, and human impact. Multiannual monitoring of the coastal zone was carried out by Lab. Geoecology of the North (Moscow State University) at the 22 km long Kharasavey deposit site, Western Coast of Yamal Peninsula (Kara Sea). The methods include direct measurements and observations (repeated topographic survey of shore transects from 1981 to 2012) along with remote sensing data analysis (images from 1964 to 2011). This allowed producing detailed characteristics of coastal dynamics. At the site, thermoabrasion coasts occupy the most part, and accumulative coasts are present in the north. Data on natural relief forming factors and ground composition are included in the detailed geomorphologic map of the site. Shore retreat rate shows correlation to amounts of wind-wave energy and to specific wind directions. Human impact on the coast includes dredging at the port channel, mining of sand, driving motor vehicles, and deposition of construction debris. Relations between shore retreat rate and aforementioned factors were studied, including dependencies on ice content, and shore segmentation was carried out. This allows for coastal dynamics forecasts in the region.
