Abstract:
<em>This study examines eco-linguistic gendered language in the Bukidnon literary text "Magbangal," analyzing its impact on gender roles. Using categories like Gendered Pronouns, Stereotype Language, and Roles, it reveals that Pronouns are most prevalent (62%), with PROD_MALE and REPRO_FEM consistently employed, reinforcing traditional norms. Gendered Roles (23%) depict men as providers (PROD_MALE) and women in domestic roles (REPRO_FEM). Stereotype Language (15%) associates strength (PROD_MALE, GENDER_HIER) and nurturing (REPRO_FEM) with genders. The analysis highlights a gender dichotomy, re

The paper explores the economic disempowerment of married female factory worker as a result of being a mother, a working woman, and a community affairs participant. Most of the time women are forced to sacrifice on their careers than men. They wrestle with their triple burden role as a woman. Moser (2003) argues that women&#39;s work is reproductive work, productive work, and community managing work. These roles prevent women from utilizing their full potential as a worker as they juggle their career with their other roles as a woman

Abstract:
The relevance of intra-household division of labor for overall household wellbeing is common knowledge, especially among development practitioners from the developing world. While division of labor acquired a newer impetus as a consequence of a strong and emerging gender narrative a few decades ago, its momentum seems to have been torpedoed by the comfort of gender mainstreaming; reducing the role of gender analyses in agricultural extension and sustainable development initiatives. We briefly revisit the gender evolution, and empirically apply Caroline Moser’s triple roles framework in order t

Based on the analysis of 20 in-depth interviews held with employed women in Zimbabwe, this paper uses Moser’s ‘triple role framework’ to make sense of how they juggled production, reproduction and community roles while working from home during the COVID-19-induced lockdowns. It finds that although the enmeshing of the domestic and work spaces yielded different gendered dynamics for women, like ‘role overload’ and the ‘confusion of priorities’, destabilised gender relations and other challenges they faced were primarily perpetuated by patriarchy, hegemony and other dominant gender cultures.
