Abstract In this Appendix section, all genera and species of plant parasitic nematodes cited in the book are listed alphabetically. The genera and species are followed by their 'authorities', i.e. the name(s) of the author(s) of the original description, in some cases followed by the name(s) of the author(s) who have published the more recent valid taxonomic name, that is, by placing the species in another genus. In such cases, the original authorities are placed in parentheses. Both authorities are followed by their respective year of publication. The most common synonyms are also listed alphabetically as 'cf.'. Abstract:
In this chapter, we introduce you to formatting conventions for citations and references. Writers are obligated to cite others’ works that have significantly influenced or are relevant to their own work. It goes without saying that to include another’s original ideas without proper acknowledgment is plagiarism. Consequently, this stage of the writing process is critical both professionally and ethically. Although citations and references are inextricably linked, for clarity we deal with them separately. By the end of the chapter, you will be able to do the following: ■ Know what information should be cited ■ Know what information need not be cited ■ Use in-text citations appropriately ■ Recognize different reference formats (numerical and alphabetical) ■ Determine the appropriate reference format for your work Two Citing on Your Own tasks will guide you in preparing proper citations and references as you do the following: 17A Finalize citations 17B Compile and format references The seriousness of properly compiling and formatting citations and references is predictably emphasized in Information for Authors documents. The excerpts below serve as vital reminders of the importance of checking relevant guidelines before finalizing citations and references in your written work: Authors should be judicious in citing the literature; unnecessarily long lists of references should be avoided. (Author Information, J. Org. Chem. 2007, 72, 16A) The accuracy and completeness of the references are the authors’ responsibility. (Authors’ Guide, Anal. Chem. 2007, 79, 390 Avoid references to works that have not been peer-reviewed. (Instructions to Authors, Environ. Sci. Technol. 2007, 30) The citation of references in text . . . varies widely from journal to journal and publisher to publisher. . . . Authors are encouraged to check the author guidelines for a specific publication to find information on citing references. (The ACS Style Guide: Coghill and Garson, 2006) Most authors attend to citations and references when their work is nearly complete; useful reminders may be inserted into the text as they write—such as “cite Kopinski here” or “add ref”—but properly formatted citations and references are often added in the last stages of writing.

Abstract:
This chapter presents the findings of the author on the impact of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on the Israeli legal system. After a short description of the Israeli legal system and its judiciary, including figures on the use of foreign legal sources by the courts, the chapter describes briefly the relations between the EU and Israel and notes the weak legal approximation provision in the Association Agreement. Despite the lack of obligation on Israel’s part to rely on CJEU judgments, the author has found steadily growing numbers of citations of these judgments by various Israeli courts and tribunals. The chapter presents the statistics of these citations over the years, the types of tribunals that cite the CJEU, and the fields of law where these citations are mostly found (mainly in trade marks, competition law, and labour law). It also lists the CJEU cases that are most cited by Israeli tribunals. It then assesses the impact of the citations by a coding system that allows us to observe the relative influence that the citations had in the various tribunals. After having presented a statistic overview on the citation patterns, the chapter zooms into some specific cases where the CJEU was cited in order to put the citation into context and better understand its significance. Finally, the chapter discusses instances of CJEU impact on Israeli regulation, not case law, namely in the field of competition law, sports (the Bosman case), and privacy (‘the right to be forgotten’).

Abstract:
The concept of the greenhouse effect has yet to receive adequate historical attention. Although most writing ahout the subject is concerned with current scientific or policy issues, a small but growing fraction of the literature contains at least some historical material, which, as this chapter shows for the case of Joseph Fourier, is largely unreliable. Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier is best known today for his Fourier series, a widely used mathematical technique in which complex functions can be represented by a series of sines and cosines. He is known among physicists and historians of physics for his book Théorie analytique de la chaleur (1822), an elegant but not very precise work that Lord Kelvin described as “a great mathematical poem.” Most of his contemporaries knew him as an administrator, Egyptologist, and scientist. Fourier’s fortunes rose and fell with the political tides. He was a mathematics teacher, a secret policeman, a political prisoner (twice), governor of Egypt, prefect of Isère and Rhône, friend of Napoleon, baron, outcast, and perpetual member and secretary of the French Academy of Sciences. Most people writing on the history of the greenhouse effect merely cite in passing Fourier’s descriptive memoir of 1827 as the “first” to compare the heating of the Earth’s atmosphere to the action of glass in a greenhouse. There is usually no evidence that they have read Fourier’s original papers or manuscripts (in French) or have searched beyond the obvious secondary sources. Nor are most authors aware that Fourier’s paper, usually cited as 1827, was actually read to the Académie Royale des Sciences in 1824, published that same year in the Annales de Chimie et de Physique, and translated into English in the American Journal of Science in 1837! No one cites Fourier’s earlier references to greenhouses in his magnum opus of 1822 and in his earlier papers. Nor do they identify the subject of terrestrial temperatures as a key motivating factor in all of Fourier’s theoretical and experimental work on heat. Moreover, existing accounts assume far too much continuity in scientific understanding of the greenhouse effect from Fourier to today.

The chapter attempts to identify the information needs of educationists based on the citations in Master's degree dissertations in Education. The source for the study is the Master's degree dissertations submitted to the Manonmanium Sundaranar University during the period 1996 - 2006 from N.V.K.S.D. College of Education. The citation-based approach is followed in the study. Number of citations, cited articles, authors, frequency and percentage distributions were the tools used to analyze the data. Findings showed that journals were the most utilized reference materials in the dissertations. Indian periodicals are ranked first, followed by that from the USA. Mostly cited periodicals are published in the year 1993 with 181 citations (14.23%) and mostly-cited books were published in the year 1996 with 71 (13.95%) citations. Moreover, highest number of citations was in the year 1997 with 702(10.19%) citations and the lowest number of citations was during the year 2001 with 337(4.89%) citations.

Abstract:
Chapter 8 reports on circumstances and reasons that our interviewees disengaged from the right-wing movement. The chapter begins by combining our 3N approach with a commonly cited “push–pull” framework to understand the mechanisms through which disengagement may typically occur. Analyses revealed that it was unlikely for a singular event to cause disengagement; rather, circumstances pertinent to several radicalization factors (the three Ns) were likely to be present. Diverging from other accounts of disengagement, the most frequently cited reason for leaving pertained to disillusionment with the ideological narrative advanced within the right wing. Throughout, the authors highlight the commonalities of their findings with those of past research, revealing the universal process of radicalization and deradicalization that underlies seemingly disparate special cases. The chapter also discusses the components of disengagement from extremism that appear to be unique to the German context.

Customer engagement is one of the most debated topics in marketing literature. The great interest of the scientific community resulted in a large amount of research on this topic making it difficult for scholars to understand how to really contribute to advance the research. Based on these considerations, this chapter aims to provide an overview of the research findings and trends of previous studies to guide the researcher to the most influential works, results, and issues that need more insights. In particular, this chapter offers a literature review on customer engagement and retail customer engagement using bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping study. Abstract:
In what ways and to what extent are bioinspired designs (BIDs) and the biological systems that inspire them ‘efficient’? The answer to this question provides insight into the potential role BID could have in the generation of energy- and materials-efficient designs. By qualifying and clarifying efficiency-related claims in the context of biological evidence, this paper contributes to the theoretical foundation for BID for efficiency and provides guidance to those developing design tools and methodologies aimed at using BID to enhance the efficiency of engineered products and systems. Javna uprava obuhvaća tijela državne uprave, tijela jedinica lokalne i područne (regionalne) samouprave i pravne osobe koje imaju javne ovlasti (javnopravna tijela). Republika Hrvatska donijela je 2015. godine Strategiju razvoja javne uprave za razdoblje 2015. – 2020. godine, kao nastavak reforme javne uprave započete Strategijom reforme državne uprave za razdobl

In many fast-growing cities around the country, up to three- quarters of the land zoned for residential use is reserved for detached, single-family dwellings at suburban densities. This is both a climate justice and racial justice issue as it has the doubly negative impact of artificially constraining housing supply and driving up costs, forcing many lower and middle income families farther away from job centers and imposing on them long, costly, and carbon-intensive com- mutes. Single-family zoning was also used as an explicit tool to segregate the U.S. by race starting in the 1920s and, in t

Emerging technologies, defined as contemporary cutting-edge developments in various fields of technology, are generally associated with the potential for large impact on society. In a recent op-ed, “The coming Tech-led Boom” (Wall Street Journal, January 30, 2012), Mills and Ottino list three grand technological transformations — big data, smart manufacturing, and the wireless revolution — poised to transform this century as much as telephony and electricity did in the 20th century. This list is by no means comprehensive and most likely misses technologies that are not yet recognized, but may

The high flow boiling heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) and comparatively low pressure drop of microfin tubes make them suited to meet the ever-increasing energy efficiencies and burgeoning raw material costs of HVAC & R systems. Since the late 1980s, many empirical or semi-empirical correlations have been proposed to predict the in-tube boiling HTC for microfin tubes. A vast number of experimental studies have also been published for microfin tubes under different operating conditions with different refrigerants. However, due to the complex behavior of two-phase flows, it has been observe

When core temperature is outside of the normothermia range, patients are at increased risk of myriad complications. Hypothermic patients are at higher risk of, among other things, increased wound infections2, increased blood loss3, increased ICU times and hospital stays2, higher mortality rates4, increased transfusion requirements3. “Even mildly hypothermic patients could suffer an increase in adverse outcomes that can add costs of as much as $2,
