Abstract:
AbstractTeleoperated vehicles are gaining importance during the transition to fully automated vehicles since at the current state of development automated vehicles are not capable of operating in all conditions and environments. Despite the high potential of the concept of teleoperated vehicles, there are still challenges to be dealt with. As the teledriver is physically not present in the vehicle during teleoperation, the communication between the teledriver and the vehicle takes place via internet. That could lead to a delayed transmission of the telemetry and visual signals. Additionally, the teledriver’s perception of the vehicle motion is reduced. This study demonstrates the differences between teledriving and normal driving from a theoretical perspective and how the stability of the vehicle-teledriver system is affected by the communication delay and the reduced perception of the vehicle motion. To increase the driver’s perception and the ease of control of the teleoperated vehicle, a simple structured and tunable steering wheel torque emulation concept is introduced.

Abstract According to the current situation of China's agricultural picking, large scale, complex terrain and labor shortage. This design is an all-terrain intelligent agricultural picking robot. The picking robot has the functions of walking, avoiding obstacles and picking. In this paper, the design of robot structure and hardware circuit control is carried out. The basic structure of the design is divided into upper box and lower box. The upper box is a replaceable functional device and the default is a cargo hold and picking robot arm. The lower box is composed of a new all-terrain track motion mechanism and camera module, obstacle avoidance module, power module, transmission module and core control module. The upper box is fixed by a detachable bolt group on the balance table of the lower box, and the mechanical arm is installed in the cargo hold through bolt connection. The end of the mechanical arm is loaded with a pressure sensor, and the new all-terrain track motion mechanism and the drive and sensing control system equipped with the lower box can realize the picking and handling of the operation object. Aiming at the climbing stability, the dynamic modeling was carried out and the maximum climbing height of the robot was obtained based on theoretical calculation and simulation. Through the finite element analysis of the main parts of this design, it is found that the strength meets the requirements of material properties and the calculation is reasonable and reliable. The design has the advantages of stable structure, easy implementation and operation, low cost, strong expansibility and practicability, and easy promotion and application. It can be used with harvesting machinery, spraying equipment, etc., and can also be put into rescue and disaster relief, scientific research and exploration, logistics and transportation and other fields.

Abstract:
AbstractIn order to improve the energy dissipation effect of the connection components of steel truss joints and optimize the arrangement of the components, a new replaceable component railway pier structure was proposed, referring to the transmission tower structure. The new pier consists of four pier columns and the steel truss connection system between the columns. Based on the OpenSees platform, a dynamic analysis model of the new railway pier was established. 56 seismic records were input, and incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) was carried out to investigate the damage evolution law of the connection components and the influence of component yielding on the stress of the rebar in the middle and bottom of the pier. The results show that the steel truss connection system yields in a row and consumes energy in a graded manner. The yielding order of the second and third rows of the steel truss connection system is always in the forefront. The second and third rows are the main energy-consuming rows, followed by the fourth, fifth, and sixth rows, and finally the seventh, eighth, and first rows, with the first and eighth rows being less likely to yield. The outer chord members in each row yield first, followed by the inner chord members, and the vertical and diagonal members are less likely to yield. The yielding of the pier columns occurs after the yielding of the chord members of the steel truss. The yielding of the outer chord members in the steel truss connection system has a certain inhibitory effect on the stress increase of the rebar in the pier columns and at the bottom of the pier, and the inhibitory effect on the bottom of the pier is better than that in the middle.

The focus of this paper is the biphasic phenomena that occurs in a lubrication system of a CVT gearbox transmission of an agricultural tractor, in particular a Method of Analysis is outlined with the aim of mapping and assessing the behavior of the lubrication circuit. The study of the lubrication in gearboxes is an important issue in the design of off-road machines because their reliability depends mostly on the lubrication performance, as well as the machine’s lifetime and overall energy efficiency of the transmission is strongly dependent on the lubrication system behavior. Abstract A Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) offers a variable ratio transmission for wind turbines that has a higher power to weight ratio than traditional gearboxes, and requires less maintenance. In a conventional turbine, when the wind speed increases above the rated speed, the blade pitch is controlled to dissipate excess energy and regulate the turbine at rated power. An energy storage system allows the turbine to temporarily operate above rated power, and capture the traditionally dissipated energy in an accumulator. When the wind speed drops below the rated speed, the energy in the accumu

Considering the challenges hindering the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and heavy-duty electric vehicles(HDEVs), the integration of dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) technology into roadways has gained interest. By embedding DWPT components into pavement, electrical power can be delivered to an EV or HDEV as they are in motion. Yet, large-scale implementation depends on further in-depth research, both to explore optimal construction methods and to understand the impact of embedment on the pavement’s resultant behavior. The objective of this project was trifold: (1) design

Pipeline transmission of liquids, although highly cost effective relative to other means of liquid transport (e.g., on-highway freight vehicles or trains), still encumbers costs with opportunities for improvement. Liquid pumps, serving as the prime mover for liquids in a pipeline, are a chief operating expense for pipeline transmission. A large and diverse set of pump characteristics - both in terms of style, motive force, and age -make it difficult to identify technologies that result in substantial cost savings for the owner / operator of liquid pipeline systems. Thus, characterizing and cla

Nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems hold promise for improving therapeutic efficacy and targeting precision. However, a critical challenge in their development is ensuring size stability, as particle size directly influences biodistribution, cellular uptake, and drug release profiles. This study establishes a streamlined methodology to assess nanoparticle size consistency by comparing three widely used characterization techniques: Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA). Two types of nanoparticles were analyzed: 100

The restricted host range of many baculoviruses, highly pathogenic to Lepidoptera and non-pathogenic to mammals, limits their use to single or few closely related Lepidopteran species and is an obstacle to extending their implementation for pest control. The insect immune response is a major determinant of the ability of an insect pathogen to efficiently multiply and propagate. We have developed an original model system to study the Lepidopteran antiviral immune response based on Spodoptera littoralis resistance to AcMNPV (Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus) infection and the

The risk of widespread transmission of both known and newly emergent pathogens has prevented licensure of live blood-based vaccines in the U.S. and is a major concern for their continued use in Israel. Vehicle Surge Reduction Technology during Towing in Parallel HEV Pickup Truck. SAE International, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.4271/2022-01-0613.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a technology to reduce vehicle surge during towing that utilizes motors and shifting to help ensure comfort in a parallel HEV pickup truck. Hybridization is one way to reduce fuel consumption and help realize carbon neutrality. Parallel HEVs have advantages in the towing, hauling, and high-load operations often carried out by pickup trucks, compared to other HEV systems. Since the engine, motor, torque converter, and transmission are connected in series in a parallel HEV, vehicle surge may occur when the lockup clutch is engaged to enhance fuel efficiency, similar to conven
