Abstract:
2019 verunglückten 26.938 Motorradfahrer auf deutschen Straßen. Bei den Kleinkrafträdern wurden 2019 insgesamt 13.748 Unfälle gezählt [1]. Zusätzlich steigt jedes Jahr die Zahl der Zulassungen von Krafträdern in Deutschland. Einer der Gründe für vermehrte Unfälle ist die mangelnde Sichtbarkeit mit Einbruch der Dämmerung [1]. Nach aktueller Rechtsprechung (§49a I STVZO) darf die Beleuchtung an Krafträdern nicht über die vorgeschriebenen und zulässigen Leuchten hinaus erweitert werden. Vermehrt tragen Zweiradfahrer Sicherheitswesten, um besser erkannt zu werden, jedoch ist dieser Schutz nur passiv. So entstand die Idee der beleuchteten Sicherheitsjacke. Judith T. Abstract:
The aim of this thesis project was to create something, that has never been there before in motorcycle design. A new, deep collaboration between the future generation of riders and their bikes. It should create a whole new riding experience. And this experience should be inspirational and new to several fi elds of transportation design besides motorcycling. The process started with the research and inspiration fi nding. It continued with form exploration through sketching, ergonomic tests and photoshop sketches. The whole process was based on an interdisciplinary working method. Being in touch with modelers, engineers, generative designers, color and trim designers was an essential part of the project. The interdisciplinary work continued digitally, with many different types of software. Creating the 3D visualisation of the project required the use of Alias, Cinema 4D, Rhino, Grasshopper, Fuse, Speedform, Maya and VRED. Frequently reviews on the current project status and taking part in technical meetings, along with responsible designers at BMW, in combination with weekly reviews with the university, structured the time plan throughout the whole project. As well as fl ying to the university for check-ups and presentations. BMW Spirit provides a revolutionary experience for future motorcycle riders. Focusing on the interaction between the rider and the bike, it creates the opportunity to build a deep relationship. Since AI becomes more and more important in our daily lives developing ways of human-machine interactions will be crucial for our future. The concept is focused on the opportunities it could bring to combine an Artifi cial Intelligence with motorcycling. BMW Spirit creates a human-machine symbiosis and is controlled like an extension of the human body, with intuitive movements. The built in Artifi cial Intelligence is the rider’s companion and develops its own character and consciousness over time. It learns and grows together with the rider and adapted to the rider. Growing trust enables more possibilities to push the limits and enjoying the power of this unique riding experience.

Motorradfahren ist in Deutschland mit einem hohen Risiko verbunden. Etwa 20 Prozent der Getöteten bei Verkehrsunfällen sind Fahrer:innen motorisierter Zweiräder. Das Risiko als Motorradfahrer:in getötet zu werden ist, bezogen auf die Fahrleistung, mehr als 20 mal höher als das von Pkw-Fahrer:innen. Ziel erfolgreicher Präventionsarbeit muss es daher sein, alle Aspekte des Unfallgeschehens von Motorradfahrer:innen zu verstehen, um geeignete Maßnahmen zu erarbeiten. Dazu zählt auch das Fahren in Motorradgruppen respektive das entsprechende Unfallgeschehen zu verstehen.

Abstract:
2008 starben etwa 650 Motorradfahrer im Straßenverkehr. Fast 31.000 Verunglückte sind bei Unfällen zum Teil schwer verletzt worden. Beim Motorradfahren ist das Unfallrisiko - bezogen auf den Fahrzeugbestand - nach wie vor am höchsten (18 Getötete pro 100.000 Fahrzeuge). Wegen dieser alarmierenden Zahlen aus dem Unfallgeschehen, beauftragte die Unfallforschung der Versicherer (UDV) das Fachgebiet Kraftfahrzeuge der TU Berlin und die Professur für Straßenverkehrstechnik der TU Dresden mit der Untersuchung der Unfallgefährdung von Motorradfahrern erstmals aus einer verknüpfenden Perspektive von Fahrzeug- und Straßenverkehrstechnik [1]. Neben einer bundesweiten Analyse von über 100.000 Unfällen mit Motorradbeteiligung, sind vertiefte Untersuchungen in Sachsen durchgeführt worden, da sich das Motorradunfallgeschehen in diesem Bundesland als repräsentativ erwiesen hat. Grundlage der örtlich detaillierten Untersuchung sind über 12.000 Unfälle mit Beteiligung motorisierter Zweiräder in Sachsen in den Jahren 2004 bis 2006. Hier wurden über 200 Streckenabschnitte mit 1.600 Unfällen für einen paarweisen Vergleich ausgewählt: Die Hälfte der Strecken sind durch ein besonders konzentriertes Motorradunfallgeschehen aufgefallen und wurden vergleichbaren Strecken gegenübergestellt, die nicht unfallauffällig sind. Auf der Fahrzeugseite wurden über 1.300 Datensätze aus der Datenbank der UDV ausgewertet, um die spezifischen Einflüsse von Fahrzeugeigenschaften und Fahrerverhalten zu beschreiben. Zudem wurde eine Befragung von 6.879 Motorradfahrern gemeinsam mit der Zeitschrift „Motorrad“ durchgeführt. Häufigste Unfallursachen sind nach wie vor: - zu hohe Geschwindigkeit - Fehler beim Überholen - Abstandsfehler - Selbstüberschätzung. Die Unfallforschung der Versicherer (UDV) hat daher zusammen mit dem Deutschen Verkehrssicherheitsrat (DVR) und den Zeitschriften „Tourenfahrer“ und „Motorradfahrer“ zunächst für drei Jahre die German Safety Tour (GST) ins Leben gerufen. Im Kontext der rasanten Stadt- und Verkehrsentwicklung in Subsahara-Afrika haben Motorrad-Taxis in den vergangenen Jahren einen starken Bedeutungsgewinn erfahren. Diese sorgen für die Erreichbarkeit randstädtischer Siedlungsgebiete und erfüllen auch in innerstädtischen Gebieten wichtige Funktionen. Bisherige Studien haben vor allem Aspekte der Verkehrsunsicherheit sowie quantitative Angebotsmerkmale und Nutzerbewertungen der Dienstleistung herausgearbeitet. Auch um die Potenziale für eine Reduzierung ihrer Negativeffekte und für ihre stärkere verkehrsplanerische Einbettung abschätzen zu können, bedarf es darüber hinaus eines besseren Verständnisses ihrer Steuerungsmechanismen. Vor diesem Hintergrund untersucht die vorliegende Studie die Organisation und Regulierung der Motorrad-Taxis am Beispiel der tansanischen Metropole Dar es Salaam. Die Empirie stützt sich auf ein methodisch qualitatives Vorgehen, das sich am Forschungsstil der Grounded Theory und den Argumenten des Southern Urbanism orientiert. Die Analyse und Einordnung der Ergebnisse basiert auf verschiedenen theoretischen Perspektiven der Steuerung sowie auf Konzepten der soziologischen Praxistheorien. Die Arbeit zeigt, welchen Einfluss der lokale Kontext auf das Entstehen der Motorrad-Taxi-Dienstleistung hat und welche Governance-Mechanismen ihre kontinuierliche Integration in den lokalen Markt der Mobilitätsdienstleistungen ermöglichen. Dabei deckt die Studie das enge Zusammenspiel und die Bedeutung von Selbstregulierung, staatlicher Regulierung sowie Konflikten und Kooperation zwischen den beteiligten Stakeholdern auf. Damit trägt die Studie zur Überwindung einer oft unterstellten Dichotomie von ‚informellen‘ und ‚formellen‘ gesellschaftlichen Relationen bei. Darauf aufbauend liefert die Studie außerdem einen empirischen Beitrag zu aktuellen theoretischen Debatten um das Verhältnis von Strukturzwängen in den Städten Subsahara-Afrikas einerseits und den Handlungsmöglichkeiten sozialer Akteure andererseits.
In the context of rapid urbanisation and transport development in Sub-Saharan-Africa motorcycle-taxis have become an important mobility option in recent years. They increase accessibility in peri-urban settlements and provide crucial functions in inner urban areas. Previous studies have contributed to a better understanding of road safety issues and have investigated quantitative service characteristics and user perceptions. However, in order to reduce negative effects and to evaluate the potentials for their consideration in urban transport planning, it is fundamental to also understand the governance of motorcycle-taxis. Against this background, this study investigates the organisation and mode of regulation of motorcycle-taxis in the Tanzanian metropolis of Dar es Salaam. The study is based on a qualitative research design and follows a Grounded Theory approach and the arguments of Southern Urbanism. The analysis of the empirical results is informed by different governance perspectives and concepts from the field of sociological practice theory. The study shows how the emergence of motorcycle-taxis in Dar es Salaam is shaped by the local context and how particular governance mechanisms continuously enable their integration into the local market of mobility services. In that regard the study unveils how self-regulation, state regulation as well as conflicts and cooperation between stakeholders interrelate and what role they play. In that way the study contributes to overcoming the often-assumed dichotomy between ‘informal’ and ‘formal’ social relations. Moreover, based on a social-theoretical analysis the study contributes to current urban theory debates on the relation between the constraints of social structures in the cities in Sub-Saharan Africa on the one hand and the agency of social actors on the other hand.

Abstract:
A roads and highways are a complex structures consisting of different geometric and structural elements. Some of those elements influence the driving comfort, speed and traffic safety whereas others contribute to motorway durability and its proper function during different seasons of a year. The development of motorway construction or reconstruction designs either relies or is about to rely on the principles of spatial design of a motorway route. The application of the said principles improves optical quality of the route and leads to a correct comprehension of the motorway concerned. Nevertheless, the global as well as the European and the Lithuanian experience witnesses the cases of the emergence of unavoidable optical deformations in the solutions of motorway route design and the reason for that could be an unavailability of clear requirements set forth in the relevant standard documents in force in regard to coordination between the horizontal alignment and the vertical alignment of motorway elements. The missing coordination between the solutions of horizontal alignment and vertical alignment of the motorway turns to be the cause for lower levels of driving comfort and traffic safety, as an adequate prevision of the current situation driving such a motorway cannot always be possible. Abstract:
The developed, innovative method of estimating the impact of motorway on agricultural land allows determination of all the losses associated with the directions of this impact. The basis for the determination of losses is the analysis of variability in land use and the quality classes and location of access roads to the land along the axis of the planned motorway. The approved measure of the multidirectional impact of the motorway on agricultural land is a change in the value of land, which is designated taking into account the differentiation of their suitability for agricultural production. The developed method of determining the impact of motorway on agricultural land was presented on the example of A4 motorway section between Bratkowice and Mrowla. The existing section of motorway was assessed and then for the same section the calculations were made again, but with an alternative location of the motorway overpasses. In the case of the existing section, the construction of one kilometer of the section of motorway under consideration will result in a reduction in the value of agricultural land of 1725 cereal units. Acquisition of land for the construction of the motorway and its negative impact cover about 69% of the total reduction in value of agricultural land. The remaining 31% of the land value reduction is related to the increase in transport and the deterioration of the parcels layout. On the other hand, in the case of the section with alternative arrangement of viaducts, the value of agricultural land is reduced of 1538 cereal units. Acquisition of land under construction and its toxic impact will be equal 75%, while the combined effect of transport growth and deterioration of the layout makes 25%.

An adopted measure of the multi-direction motorway impact on agricultural land is a specified change in the value of land, at which determination only the diversity of the land suitability for agricultural production is taken into account. The developed method for determining the motorway impact on agricultural land is shown on the example of the planned motorway section. The construction of one kilometre of the motorway section will reduce the value of farmland amounting to an average of 1.350 cereal units. Taking over the land for the highway construction and its negative impact covers about 85% of the total loss of value of agricultural land. The remaining 15% loss of the land value is associated with an icrease in transport and deterioration of land configuration plots.
