With the development of environment-friendly cutting technology, the low-temperature MQL technology emerged. In order to solve the problem that caused by cutting heat, it adds the cold air on the foundation of MQL. In the view of low-temperature MQL studies which could reduce the cutting force and heat, we have done a lot of experiments. The experimental results show that the most important reason why the low-temperature MQL can reduce the cutting force effectively is a reliable lubricant film that between tool and chip. To solve the problems caused by high temperature in the cutting zone during high-speed milling of Titanium alloys, some cooling methods are employed, such as cold air cooling, high pressure coolant jet impinging, MQL, etc. But all have their shortfalls, both in cooling efficiency and environmental pollution. Here a new high efficiency cooling technology-cryogenic pneumatic mist jet impinging (CPMJI) cooling technology is offered. In this technology, a little quantity of coolant is carried by high pressure cryogenic air (-20) and reaches the machining zone in the form of mist jet. This paper ma

A short 9–month climatology study reveals that weak CAPs, defined as temperature inversions larger than 1◦C across a valley depth of ∼170m, occur 45% of all nights. The changing structure of the marginal sea-ice zone (MIZ), together with high temperature gradients between the cold Arctic air and relatively warm sea water, contribute to uncertainty in numerical weather prediction (NWP). Since cold-air outbreaks (CAO) over the MIZ contribute strongly to heat transfer in the polar areas, assessment of variability in them is of a great importance. This thesis deals with extending our understanding of the variability within CAO by means of large eddy simulations, performed in The Met Office Large Eddy Model (LEM).
