Abstract:
Abstract Hysteretic behavior in piezoceramic transducers is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The applicability of the rate-independent generalized Maxwell resistive capacitor (MRC) hysteresis model is established. Methods for MRC and inverse MRC online model identification are developed by first establishing that the MRC and its inverse are the same particular cases of the classical Preisach hysteresis model. This enables use of the extensive mathematical framework that has been developed for Preisach models. A method of incorporating the MRC model in a feedforward control scheme

Previously1 we introduced the use of the maximum entropy principle (MEP) for image reconstruction of moment-coded images. The MEP and the minimum relative principle (MREP) are used in reconstructing images previously compressed by retaining a subset of the coefficients of their discrete cosine transform (DCT), a popular method of image compression since it approximates closely the ideal Karhunen-Loeve transform compression. The normal way to reconstruct such compressed images is by using the inverse DCT. The reconstructed image under the MEP is the one that maximizes the entropy of the image s

This paper describes improvements to the ultrasonic procedures to be used for the detection of thermal fatigue in nuclear power plants in accordance with the requirements of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Material Reliability Program (MRP) inspection and evaluation guidelines. These examinations have been performed at nuclear plants in the USA since the 1980s with very few detections of degradation. However, since 2013 there have been ten instances of thermal fatigue cracks. The MRP formed a thermal fatigue focus group to analyze these leaks and flaws related to thermal fatigue i

These models are based on linear elastic fracture mechanics methods and were initially developed in the 1970s; they remain largely unchanged since that time. Recently, a modification to Code Case (CC) N-830 has been proposed to provide alternative fracture toughness models for use in the flaw evaluation methodologies of ASME Section XI Nonmandatory Appendices A and K. Multi-hop machine reading comprehension (MRC) task aims to enable models to answer the compound question according to the bridging information. Existing methods that use graph neural networks to represent multiple granularities such as entities and sentences in documents update all nodes synchronously, ignoring the fact that multi-hop reasoning has a certain logical order across granular levels. In this paper, we introduce an Asynchronous Multi-grained Graph Network (AMGN) for multi-hop MRC. First, we construct a multigrained graph containing entity and sentence nodes.
