This article presents an applied solution of the Leontiev's balance model using MS Excel software. One of the advantages of the algorithmic solution of such tasks through appropriate software is the significant expansion of their practical application related to data processing and performing numerous computational operations. On the other hand, this allows a deeper analysis of the interrelationships between the individual groups given different initial data or changing the factors themselves in the structure of the model.

This paper provides implementations of three well-known ciphers – Caesar Cipher, Vigenere Cipher and Hill Cipher in Microsoft Excel. It is shown how the ciphers can be broken by using Brute-force Attack, Frequency Analysis Attack and Known-plaintext Attack. For the purpose of the cryptanalysis the relative occurrence frequencies of the letters and the index of coincidence (κ ) in Bulgarian language are determined. The aim of this lecture note is to present and exemplify the Kragten method to calculate the combined uncertainty (uncertainty budget) of a measurand from the standard uncertainty estimates of individual inputs of that measurand, and the mathematical formulation of that measurand. If these two elements are not available, the Kragten method cannot be applied. The method also provides sensitivity (significance) assessment of the different components (inputs) in the combined uncertainty budget. Serving as a windbreak, properly sited and designed snow fences have been proven effective in mitigating the negative impacts of blowing snow. To achieve the best snow-control effects, the ideal locations for snow fences are usually outside the roadway right-of-way. Few efforts have been made to examine the economic efficiency of snow fences and explore ways to reward private landowners.
