Abstract:
The thesis discusses the possibilities of project management and analysis and it is focused on solving project analysis using the network analysis. The text describes chosen used methods of analysis. This text together with other findings in the theoretical part is used in the solution of practice part. The aim of this thesis was to create a functional Microsoft Project-based add-in of Microsoft Excel to ensure planning and management of simple projects. This created add-in can manage the project, manage project resources, allocate these resources to individual project activities and carry out simple analysis of the project, including a Gantt chart.

Abstract:
There are available various professional applications for the solving of optimization problems. This thesis deals with comparison of these optimization systems and simplicity of their connection with MS Excel through VBA. Problem of designing model together with his calculation in MS Excel or other systems connected via VBA, like MPL for Windows or LINGO, is demonstrated on concrete examples. Application in Visual Basic for Applications was created for this purpose. This application is easy to use and it is solving Knapsack Problem, Distribution Problem and also Quadratic Assignment Problem. Finally, comparison of these systems is made using Multi-criteria evaluation.

Abstract:
The aim of the diploma thesis was to create independently an application, automating a correspondence analysis calculation using MS Excel and taking advantage of VBA programming language. The application was then used to analyse Slovak banking sector. The created application is based on macro sets which can be split up to two parts. The first part produces a contingency table and converts it into a format usable in the second part. Then there is executed the Correspondence Analysis calculation itself. Supplement Matrix is being used, that allows to discharge functions from matrix and linear algebra. The application allows to process any matrix dimension. Dialog window offers four normalization types, shortened and also full output and it is possible to display row or column variable categories, eventually both. The analysis subject was to find out which of the products are typical for considered banks and for which clients, divided into age categories, is attractive particular bank and/or product. A starting point is a product usage data matrix at a particular bank. There was made a conclusion, that it is possible to divide banks into more traditional or modern type institutions and also that each bank has a typical product.

Abstract:
Thesis is based on original self-made application programmed at VBA in MS Excel 2007. The reason to build this application was integration of simulation Monte Carlo and chosen optimization methods. The application allows do simulation of the knapsack problem and of the assignment problem with uncertainty. The parameters of these models are possible to set up as changing values in dependence of chosen probability distribution. Output of the simulation is a probability recommendation which objects should be used. Choose of objects depend on optimized models. Results of both models are represented by statistical indexes, tables of parameters and graph.

The aim of this thesis is to create an application in MS Excel, which would have been able to count on basic stock models, and Markov decision processes with alternatives. This issue is devoted to the first part of the work. This is the theory needed to understand the basic principles and method of calculation tasks. The second part describes the developed application that can be solved one-product and multiproduct deterministic stock models, stochastic stock models and Markov decision processes with alternatives, and changing valuation of the transition. The description is supplemented with graphic images directly from the application, which makes using applications easier to understand. The part of work is also CD with created application.

Табличный процессор MS Office Excel 2007 обладает набором надстроек для решения сложных математических задач. В работе рассмотрена надстройка для интеллектуального анализа данных. В ней используются аналитические средства SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services. Надстройка интеллектуального анализа данных для Office 2007 помогает выявлять закономерности и тренды, существующие в сложных данных, отображать такие закономерности в диаграммах и интерактивных средствах просмотра, а затем формировать цветные сводные отчеты для презентаций и бизнес-аналитики. Можно анализировать корреляции и формировать прогнозы для данных, хранящихся в таблицах Microsoft Office Excel, или создавать и изменять модели интеллектуального анализа данных, хранящихся в экземпляре Analysis Services, а также получать результаты в графическом виде в среде Microsoft Office Visio.
Spreadsheet MS Office Excel 2007 has a set of add-ons to solve complex mathematical problems. The paper considers the add-in for data mining. It uses analytical tools of SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services. Data Mining Add-in for Office 2007 helps to identify patterns and trends that exist in complex data, display such patterns in charts and interactive viewers, and then generate detailed reports for color presentations and business intelligence. You can analyze correlations and generate forecasts for the data stored in tables in Microsoft Office Excel, or create and modify a data mining model stored in the instance of Analysis Services, as well as receive the results in graphical form in the environment of Microsoft Office Visio.

Abstract:
This master thesis aimed to create a syntax support add-in for writing business rules in Excel. More specifically the goal was to support business rules written according to the Semantics of Business Rules and Vocabulary standard. The add-in developed aimed to support the writing of the rules by providing syntax highlighting, content assist and validation. The implementation gave rise to many interesting challenges. This was partly because Excel had to be altered in order to function as a syntax support tool, by having dynamic input and feedback. The implementation also included parsing structured natural language. The final phase of the thesis work was to evaluate the end product. The evaluation of the efficiency, usability and correctness of the tool showed that the aim of the thesis was reached. The evaluation also showed that there is potential future work that could further improve the add-in.

Cette thèse de linguistique étudie le passif et les passivoi͏̈des en anglais contemporain dans une approche onomasiologique et sémasiologique. Il s'agissait de dresser une véritable carte de la notion de passif. Les domaines de la morphologie, de la syntaxe, de la sémantique, de la pragmatique et de la stylistique ont été envisagés. Une formalisation adaptée à cette étude a été mise en place. L'informatisation des données sous MS-Excel permet d'utiliser les possiblités de tri et d'extraction de ce logiciel. Le corpus, volumineux, est constitué de nombreuses variétés d'anglais et permet d'élaborer des corrélations entre divers critères : opérateur, tense, aspect, modalité, modalité de phrase, nature du participe passé, nature et genre du sujet grammatical, nature et nombre du déterminant du sujet, présence ou absence d'un complément (d'agent, d'instrument ou autre), introduit par quel terme, agent contraint, nature et genre du complément, nature et nombre du déterminant du complément, gloses à l'actif, passivoi͏̈des morphologiquement actifs et sémantisme passif, suffixes nominaux passivoi͏̈des, etc. Seul critère commun à une majorité de passifs, le marqueur -EN est nécessaire mais non suffisant pour définir la notion de passif. Présent dans les passifs canoniques et dans un certain nombre de passivoi͏̈des, il n'apparaît cependant pas dans les passifs dits "notionnels" et dans de nombreux passivoi͏̈des. Outre ce marqueur, nous nous sommes intéressée aux opérateurs BE et GET, aux différents modulateurs d'assertion faisant fonction d'opérateur de passivation ou permettant de modifier la teneur de l'énoncé, aux typologies de procès, à la notion d'agentivité et d'instrumentalité, aux agents contraints, etc. Plutôt que de parler de contextes propices au passif, nous avons défini qu'il existait des prédicats dont le sémantisme leur confère une propension passive en raison de la maxime pragmatique de la compassion humaine. Nous nous sommes particulièrement attachée à déterminer les raisons de recourir au passif et aux passivoi͏̈des en insistant plus particulièrement sur ce qu'ils permettent de mettre en relief ou de passer sous silence.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis was performed at PartnerTech AB in Åtvidaberg. It addresses the problem of managing test results obtained from testing electronics manufactured by PartnerTech. PartnerTech has developed a test system, called Tor, which performs tests on manufactured boards and stores the test results in files. The Tor system consists of both hardware and software part, where the software runs on an ordinary PC with MS DOS/Windows 2000. The effects on the existing Tor system that this thesis implies are minimal.

This work focuses on a way of storing the produced test files in a database. In this work a data model has been developed, implemented, and evaluated together with a system that imports test files into the database and a graphical user interface that allows a user to easily search and browse the stored test results. It is also possible to print test reports from the Tor system. For implementing the database system Microsoft SQL Server 2000 was chosen as database server and an XML based data format was chosen to import and export data to and from the database. Two alternative graphical user interface applications were developed and compared - one server based on Microsoft IIS and one client based in Microsoft Access. For advanced data manipulation certain parts of the system were developed in Microsoft Excel.

Diploma thesis focus on the design of turbocharger in SW MS Excel. For required flow and pressure ratio, the thermodynamics parameters were calculated for the turbocharger. From these, geometry was designed and the condition of mediums was calculated for each part of the turbine and compressor. At last basic characteristics of the turbine and compressor on varying the regime of engine operation the rotation was made and offered an idea about the working point position.

The main thesis aim is to introduce possibilities of MS Excel in data analysis and to point out to some strengths and weaknesses of MS Excel in data processing. I pay attention to tools which MS Excel contains by default as well as to statistical products which are not normally part of MS Excel. These products can be run in MS Excel environment as statistical add-ins for MS Excel. In the first case I focus on MS Excel tools as statistical functions, graphic analysis and statistical methods, in the other case on statistical products as XLStatistics, Analyse it, WinSTAT. In connection with the first mentioned statistical product I show some examples how to analyze and work with real data samples in product XLStatistics. The aim of this part is to show other way how to analyze data then in the others products or MS Excel itself. At the end of my thesis I programmed my own product Regxcel with the help of VBA language as the main contribution of my entire work. Product Regxcel provides solution in regression analysis for the six most common types of regression function. The main aim of this part is to point out to other possibility how to analyze data and solve some problems which users can face in regression analysis in MS Excel. I also try to show VBA language as big help in data processing in MS Excel. At the very end I presented all possibilities of Regxcel on real data sample. The product itself is part of attached CD

The diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the quality of customers using fuzzy logic based on the evaluation of their orders. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part is the theoretical basis of the thesis, which explains the issue of fuzzy logic. The second is the analytical part, in which the company ZKN METAL s.r.o. was introduced, for which a specific solution is subsequently proposed in the third and last part of the thesis. This solution is processed in the form of two models. The first of the models is processed in the MS Excel program and the second is modeled using the MATLAB programming environment. Both models are set in a user-intuitive environment and they are compared with each other afterwards.

The aim of the thesis is the mathematical model, which is capable to divide participants of large summer camps into groups, according to specific limitations. The first part describes the economics model and all valid conditions. The second part is devoted to theoretical description. There are mentioned the basics of mathematical programming and the basic of working with Excel and VBA. The thesis describes only actually used methods. The following third part shows the final form of the model. So the reader doesn´t have to go through the whole process, described in the fourth part. There is a model testing in the fourth part, especially with the help of the Excel Solver. The problems are sold immediately. That is the reason why the fifth part can be used for implementation of working environment, which allows the end user to run the model without any significant knowledge of the issue. The app uses the wide possibilities of VBA. The sixth part briefly describes other add-ins, that are able to solve mathematical problem. The conclusion summarizes all the previous parts and offeres solution, that would be used in real application of the thesis.

In my work I deal with the issue of data mining and its use in the commercial sphere. Specifically, I focused on marketing and sales forecast. The aim of my work was first to assemble knowledge from data mining and then use it to create sales forecasts using data mining add-on for Excel. In the first part I gather the theoretical information about data mining. I focused on definition, the methodology, algorithms and of course on the most frequent usage. The second part consists of the practical application of acquired knowledge. I focus on making the sales forecast of HERO CZECH company. I used data mining add-on for Microsoft Excel 2007. Results are compared with real forecasts prepared by the Key Account Manager. Results of my work proved that forecasts from data mining add-on for Excel were not more accurately than the existing ones from Key Account Manager. Nevertheless, I believe that the use of data mining methods have found use in preparing the forecast, at least as a means of support.

The planning, development and updating of the construction project are key elements for leading a project to the finish line. A programme adapted to implementation is also required to obtain the best results. The two most common work programs for creating project schedules are Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. A project's tasks are identified and structured in a schedule, often called Gantt Schedule. It should give employees at the workplace an idea of the ongoing project's activities, as well as upcoming important events and deadlines. A timeschedule should also be able to pare for changes and allocate the project's resources evenly to prevent congestion. An effective schedule includes project start and finish dates, needed resources, and recurring tasks for updating and monitoring the project schedule. An assignment issued by BDX Företagen AB gave me the opportunity to create a template and instruction for facilitated work on the development and updating of project schedules in Microsoft Project. BDX is a construction company primarily active in northern Sweden. They carry out assignments for both private individuals and companies in land, road and infrastructure. They work daily on the creation of ongoing and upcoming projects and use Microsoft Excel as a planning program.  The background to the assignment of BDX is their efforts to improve work primarily on updating a project's schedule with the transition from Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Project. The template created contains the basic settings required for a good structure for a schedule. It also includes notes and shorter explanations of tools and features. BDX's focus on improvement around updating provided the premise that the template also contains recurring tasks, which means that they are scheduled continuously during the project. The usage instruction provides a more detailed description of the template, basic settings, and features.

The diploma thesis is focused on verifying the accuracy of web Analytics Adobe Analytics. Manual control is a time-consuming activity, therefore web analysts are looking for ways leading to its acceleration and automation. Selected problem was solved by writing VBA macro in MS Excel. Macro checks the reports that are uploaded into Excel from analytic database using Adobe Report Builder. The theoretical part is focused on explaining the role of web analytics in online marketing and related concepts. The practical part presents the requirements for macro in Excel and then interprets all functions and procedures created by the program. Thesis also includes the configuration of the ObservePoint system competitive environment, which will be the last part compared with created macro. Created solution in Excel allows to verify the accuracy of web analytics with clearly sorted results quickly, thereby replaces the previous manual control.
