Šiame darbe tiriama galimybė analizuoti įtakas, lemiančias studentų mokymosi universitete sėkmę. Remiamasi duomenų gavybos algoritmais. Sukurtas būdas, kaip prognozuoti, ar būsimas studentas, remiantis jo turimais stojimo balais bei ankstesnės kartos patirtimi, sėkmingai užbaigs studijas. Pradžioje aptariamos galimos duomenų gavybos taikymo sritys, būtini etapai, tam skirta programinė įranga. Detalizuojami Microsoft SQL Server 2008 palaikomi duomenų gavybos algoritmai. Keturi iš jų sėkmingai pritaikyti pasirinktos dalykinės srities analizei. Sukurta analitinė sistema, sugebanti įvertinti stojimo balų įtakas, universitete dėstomų dalykų įtakas galimybei sėkmingai baigti studijas. Atliktas tyrimas, nustatyti, kuris duomenų gavybos algoritmas yra tinkamiausias prognozuoti studentų iškritimą.This paper describes a research of evaluation of influences, causing a success to graduate university. The research is based on the data mining algorithms. There has been developed way to predict if a prospective student will successfully graduate the university or not. The prediction is based on the data of earlier generation of students, and school’s marks of prospective student. First part of paper describes the spheres, where data mining is adapted. Then, there is detailed stages used in data mining process; reviewed most popular data mining tools. After Microsoft SQL Server data mining algorithms were analyzed, it became clear witch ones are most suitable for the selected research area. The realization part explains how data mining can serve to improve the study process in university. This can be achieved by analyzing influences of different study disciplines to the ability to graduate the university. The last part of paper describes the performed experiment, witch showed the most appropriate algorithm to make predictions about ability to graduate the university.

This diploma thesis deals with building of large Data Warehouses on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 platform. First part of the thesis discuss about news in MS SQL Server 2008, which I have considered as being important for Business Intelligence area. Following chapters are focused on approach to implementation of real Data Warehouse for Customs Administration of Czech Republic on MS SQL Server 2008 basis. These parts of the thesis cover specifics of the Customs Administration of Czech Republic, current state of Data Warehouse and reasons for migrating to MS SQL Server 2008. Further the thesis describes both logical and physical architecture of proposed solution and a way of implementation Data Warehouse on MS SQL Server 2008. The main aim of the thesis is to create a list of critical success factors (CSF) of building large Data Warehouses on MS SQL Server 2008 platform. It's not only plain list CSF, but rather the best practices for MS SQL Server Data Warehouses implementation. The most significant contribution of this thesis is that it offers instruction manual for designing and implementing large Data Warehouse on MS SQL Server basis. Background for the creation of summary of CSV and recommendations were vendor's publications and especially my own experience with the product. My colleagues from company Adastra gave me an advisory opinion as well.

This master’s thesis was performed at PartnerTech AB in Åtvidaberg. It addresses the problem of managing test results obtained from testing electronics manufactured by PartnerTech. PartnerTech has developed a test system, called Tor, which performs tests on manufactured boards and stores the test results in files. The Tor system consists of both hardware and software part, where the software runs on an ordinary PC with MS DOS/Windows 2000. The effects on the existing Tor system that this thesis implies are minimal.
This work focuses on a way of storing the produced test files in a database. In this work a data model has been developed, implemented, and evaluated together with a system that imports test files into the database and a graphical user interface that allows a user to easily search and browse the stored test results. It is also possible to print test reports from the Tor system. For implementing the database system Microsoft SQL Server 2000 was chosen as database server and an XML based data format was chosen to import and export data to and from the database. Two alternative graphical user interface applications were developed and compared - one server based on Microsoft IIS and one client based in Microsoft Access. For advanced data manipulation certain parts of the system were developed in Microsoft Excel.

Į baigiamojo darbo sudėtį įeina SQL Server 2005, Reporting Services, bei kitų numatomų instrumentinių priemonių ir technologijų analizė, reikalavimų sistemai išgavimas, taip pat sistemos modulių projektavimas bei apjungimas ir realizacija. Sistema supruojektuota ir realizuota remiantis sudaryta specifikacija. Sistemos realizacijai naudojami Microsoft SQL Server 2005 bei Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 programavimo paketai. Taip pat pateikiama, jau realizuotos sistemos testavimo rezultatai ir išvados.This final work includes SQL Server 2005, Reporting Services and other instrumental tools or technology analysis, requirement for the system extraction and also modules of the system projection, integration to one unit and realization. The system was designed and implemented in accordance with specification. To implement the system was used Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 programming packages. Also there are the testing results of the system and final conclusions.

The subject of the diploma thesis entitled "Business Intelligence in Microsoft Dynamics AX" is to analyze the functionality of the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 in the area of Business Intelligence and Reporting with the reflection of the current market position of the company. The goal is to set the basic definition of the relationship between ERP and Business Intelligence systems, further defining the possibilities of MS Dynamics AX in BI in the terms of their practical use and also to describe the fundamental technological aspects. The aim of the work is evaluation and definition particular steps during implementation based on methodology MS Sure Step 2010 together with description of deployment process. As a reflection of insufficient coverage of some of the areas is mentioned solution of the company Circon Circle Consulting. Also is realized proposal for BI for AX cost accounting module, including designing data mart, ETL and report with respect to specifics, such as the parent-child hierarchies and many-to-many relationship between fact tables and dimensions. The contribution of this work is mainly evident for the consultants of the system, to who is provided insight into the important and for users attractive functionality and also is offered possible implementation process. Technically oriented readers may appreciate the solutions for Cost Accounting and potential approaches to the concept of data mart or other areas where they meet the above-mentioned aspects.

This diploma thesis deals with the problem of automatic alerting on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 platform. Thesis was elaborated with Clever Decision s.r.o. company which significantly contributed to thesis assignment. Main goal of this thesis is to provide a solution concept for absence of alerting for multidimensional data in Microsoft's product. Alerting is aimed at critical business data -- Key performance indicators - KPIs. KPIs are used to deliver enhanced business performance through Corporate Performance Management concept. These indicators need to be watched frequently. Considering that alerting solution is convenient for watching the data. Solution concept is based on market research of Business Intelligence (BI) platforms which dominates the market. Platforms are examined for their alerting capabilities. Next goal is to provide overall insight to KPI management -- creating, managing, analyzing and monitoring of KPIs. Thesis is divided into three sections. First part creates theoretical background for solution creation and describes the field of KPI management. Second part consists of market research using selected criteria. Third part is aimed at providing the solution concept through web application fixing the absence of alerting on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 platform. This thesis is primarily intended for Clever Decision company but also for various BI experts dealing with alerting problems on BI platforms. Thesis serves also as a theoretical summary of KPI management which is commonly evaded by available technical literature.

Heat metering and billing functions are described and solution is presented. MS Navision and MS SQL Server technologies usability aspects where analyzed. The functionality of MS Navision where compared with described heat metering and billing functions and the fit-gap where made. Product was built as a specific add-on module for MS Navision Attain. The most important goals of product where heat energy billing integration with financial management and flexible data model for program adaptation to methodology changes of heat energy billing. Data model flexibility analysis where done and compatibility to requirements was established. The main objective of this thesis is to describe working with spatial data and their use in reports. The author focuses mainly on the MS SQL Server 2008 R2 platform. The first part deals with theoretical foundations. Defines the concept of Location Intelligence and describes its history to the present. It also addresses the benefits of Location Intelligence in various sectors and the relationship with Business Intelligence. Further theoretical part goes on to describe both spatial data at a general level and at the level of MS SQL Server 2008 R2. In addition, it described the use of ESRI Shapefile files and work with these files. From the description of spatial data author goes on to use reporting tools in Microsoft - SQL Server Reporting Services and Report Builder. Possible forms of map visualization and a detailed description of the settings are at the end of the theoretical part. The second part is focused on solving practical problems. Tools that are described in the theoretical part, are used to create report examples that the author at the beginning of this section set out to create.

This diploma thesis deals with the possibility of presentation data in business intelligence (BI) applications. The aim is to develop a methodology for reporting and data visualization using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence Development Studio and Microsoft Excel 2010. Evaluate and identify opportunities for data display using the perception of information at a subconscious level in the above mentioned tools. Identify market trends from the perspective of business intelligence data visualization. In the first part thesis focuses on the analysis of the current BI market with regard to trends in data visualization. In the following part options of perceptions on a subconscious level are examined, which are then reflected in the establishment of a methodology reporting. Similarly, it is investigated the human perception of color. Presented are appropriate and inappropriate data visualization forms, at the most commonly used graphic forms. The work describes a method to ensure that the data will not be displayed tendentiously or distorted. My contribution is creating a reporting methodology that respects the life cycle of the report, as well as a logical follow-up steps to project management.

The thesis contains a complete theoretical overview of high availability technologies in Microsoft SQL Server. For each technology, guidance is provided for the deployment of technologies. Technologies are analyzed from a security perspective, they are determined advantages and disadvantages of using technology in practice and is determined the optimal variant of use of the technology. High availability technology are compared with each other and is given the availability of individual technologies in versions of MS SQL Server. The thesis contains three scenarios with practical examples of using technology for high availability in practice. It provides an analysis of high-availability features in Oracle and are subsequently compared high availability features in Oracle environments with high availability technology in MS SQL Server.

This thesis focuses on design and implementation of a data mining solution with real-world data. The task is analysed, processed and its results evaluated. The mined data set contains study records of students from University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) over the course of past three years. First part of the thesis focuses on theory of data mining, definition of the term, history and development of this particular field. Current best practices and meth-odology are described, as well as methods for determining the quality of data and methods for data pre-processing ahead of the actual data mining task. The most common data mining techniques are introduced, including their basic concepts, advantages and disadvantages. The theoretical basis is then used to implement a concrete data mining solution with educational data. The source data set is described, analysed and some of the data are chosen as input for created models. The solution is based on MS SQL Server data mining platform and it's goal is to find, describe and analyse potential as-sociations and dependencies in data. Results of respective models are evaluated, including their potential added value. Also mentioned are possible extensions and suggestions for further development of the solution.

Cílem této práce je přiblížit tématiku zpětného zápisu do datových OLAP kostek, v praxi tento přístup otestovat na ukázkové datové kostce v MS SQL Serveru 2005 a navrhnout možná využití této funkcionality v nějaké firmě. Tohoto cílu je dosaženo vytvořením vlastní ukázkové OLAP kostky pro tyto účely. Nejprve je vytvořená jednoduchá transakční databáze fiktivní firmy, která je naplněna fiktivními daty. Dále jsou specifikovány uživatelské požadavky, z nichž je odvozen datový sklad a z něj je odvozena ona datová kostka. Na této kostce je pak testována funkcionalita zpětného zápisu dle vysvětlené teorie a dle dokumentace k systému. Práci lze rozdělit na dvě hlavní části. V první z nich je vysvětlena teorie k datovým skladům, tvorbě OLAP kostek a vysvětlení principů zpětného zápisu do těchto kostek včetně toho, jak by měla být dle dokumentace tato funkcionalita v MS SQL Serveru 2005 realizována. V druhé části je prakticky vytvářen datový sklad, datová kostka a testován zpětný zápis. Práce dokazuje, že zpětný zápis do datových kostek v tomto systému funguje a je použitelný např. pro plánování, tvorbu rozpočtů a provádění ?what-if? analýz.

This diploma thesis deals with an analysis of SAP Business Intelligence platform (SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0) and compares its chosen tools with Microsoft SQL Server BI. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate SAP BI system in a comprehensive way whereas extra attention is paid to certain areas, such as a data warehouse. One of the goals is the comparison of approaches and methods of the creation of the data warehouse with MS SQL Server BI solution. The thesis consists of theoretical insight into Business Intelligence, which is focused on the architecture of data warehouse, and OLAP technologies. There is an evaluation of the role of SAP in the BI market followed by the introduction of SAP NetWeaver, an application and integration platform. Included is also an analysis of the architecture of data warehouse, methods of storing data, ETL process and other chosen functions and tools (including presentation tools) in next sections. A sample application in the final part provides the reader with better understanding of different ETL approaches, which are analyzed into detail and evaluated. There is the comparison of OLAP technologies in the end and the comparison of basic reporting tools, as well.

Multi-tier enterprise systems consist of more than two distributed tiers. The design of multi-tier systems is considerably more involved than two tier systems. Not all systems should be designed as multi-tier, but if the decision to build a multi-tier system is made, there are benefits to this type of system design. CSCources is a system that tracks computer science course information. The requirements of this system indicate that it should be a multi-tier system. This system has three tiers, client, business and data. Microsoft tools are used such as Visual Basic (VB) that was used to build the client tier that physically resides on the client machine. VB is also used to create the business tier. This tier consists of the business layer and the data layer. The business layer contains most of the business logic for the system. The data layer communicates with the data tier. Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL) is used for the data store. The database containsseveral tables and stored procedures. The stored procedures are used to add, edit, update and delete records in the database. Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) is used to control modifications to the database. The transaction and security features available in the MTS environment are used. The business tier and data tier may or may not reside on the same physical computer or server. Active Server Pages (ASP) was built that accesses the business tier to retrieve the needed information for display on a web page. The dissertation describes the process of creating Business Intelligence solution over the ERP system MS Dynamics NAV. The successful development and deployment of prototype version is also the main goal of this work. The work is divided into two parts in accordance with sub-objectives: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part starts witch research of works with similar theme and then continues with description of the current state of Czech market with BI solutions on the MS Dynamics NAV, basic principles of Business Intelligence development and then the description of the method of setting benchmarks using the Balanced Scorecard. The practical part describes the development of Business Intelligence solution starting with identifying potential customer as a wholesale distributor company and setting the requirements for BI. The practical part continues through the design of a data warehouse in MS SQL Server, creation of data pump connected to the MS Dynamics NAV database, filling the data warehouse, OLAP cubes creating and ends with an example of output reports form working solution using MS Excel 2013.

This thesis is about comparison between C# and Java in implementation of a university desktop application. In .Net world the prominent IDE is MS Visual studio and DB is MS SQL server. In Java domain we have several IDEs and techniques to approach the problem. The knowledge to choose between these techniques to use is as much as important if a programmer can gain it, he can apply it in many other software engineering domains like a personal management system, library system, etc. Therefore the importance of a descriptive and applied experience is showing itself up. This thesis has started with a discussion to choose NetBeans IDE and application definition, and use case modeling then it goes through comparison and implementation part. The comparison will go in depth for each use case in this project in its implementation in C# and Java and see which techniques are used. This includes comparison between these two apps in Software quality factors.

At the very beginning of the diploma thesis, we introduce the reader to the issues of BI and controlling of manufacturing companies. Subsequently, we perform an analysis and evaluation of the current state of the selected manufacturing company in terms of variations in production. Then we use MSSQL server and SSAS to create a controlling model. The company will be able to unambiguously and quickly identify weaknesses in production and quickly eliminate them. Finally, we evaluate the real benefits of this project for the company.

The interfaces, which allow us to control measurement devices, are one by one described. Additionally there are described technologies which were used for realization of web application, as ASP.NET, AJAX, AngularJS, and relation databases. Last but not least there is described solution of web application which allows to users to do automation measurements from anywhere by web browser.

This master thesis deals with the software support of one Financial and Property Analysis of Municipalities (FAMA). The co-author of this method is Doctor Petr Toth from the Institute of Public Administration and Regional Development at University of Economics in Prague. The method is supported by Microsoft Access database application and two C++ applications ArisDestiller and Prognoza at present time. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the present software support of Financial and Property Analysis and implement an alternative solution based on Business Intelligence tools. Chosen part of analysis is implemented in the pilot project using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 environment. The thesis focuses mainly on using integration tools for XML data. The contribution of the thesis is to implement data warehouse, which uses the municipalities‘annual bills in XML format from the database of Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic. The Financial and Property Analysis method and the current software support are discussed in the first half of this thesis. The other half of the work is dedicated to the Business Intelligence pilot project. Both means of software support are reviewed and compared from various perspectives in the conclusion.

This Diploma thesis deals with the analysis and proposal of the pilot BI solution for the company Svoboda & Partner CZ s.r.o., engaged in the automechanic expertise. Fundamental objectives of this work focus particularly on the above mentioned pilot BI solutions and partial objectives deal with an analysis of the company and its needs, arising from business strategy and market analysis applications available to support the visualization of transaction reporting. These objectives have been achieved by analyzing the company's business model in chapter seven, further analysis of needs and problems within the company in chapter eight. Before the analysis, the diploma thesis deals with a survey of available applications that offer functionality of dynamically generated graphs to aid visualization of transaction reporting in chapter six and finally a major analysis and preparation of pilot BI and transaction reporting for this business which you can find from chapter 9 to chapter eleven. Contribution of this work for the company will be a complete analysis and delivery of all necessary documents in order to decide whether the above BI solutions to the company implement or not. In the case of a positive decision of the company, it is expected that thanks to BI solutions the ways of looking at corporate data can be more expanded, more precise and more operational management of the company, achieving better performance, higher profits and more efficient decision-making based on better data for decision making.

Further, this work deals with extending the platform Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services of new mining algorithms. In the practical part of this thesis, plugins for mining sequential patterns are implemented into MS SQL Server. In the last part, these algorithms are compared on different data sets.

The rest of the thesis includes description and analysis of the Star-miner algorithm, design, implementation and testing of the application.

This thesis deals with different approaches in the development of an analytical model of the data warehouse with a focus on tabular mode and its associated technologies and tools from the Microsoft company. In the theoretical part the thesis introduces the principles of Business Intelligence and also the concept of the semantic model. It also states tabular model as a new approach of creating an analytical database stored in the RAM memory. The tabular model is developed on the top of the data warehouse of a fictitious company Contoso in the practical part. The emphasis is put mainly on the comparison between the tabular and multidimensional model. The work ends with deploying both models on a virtual server with a comparison of their computing power for each of the designed scenarios.

This work provides a survey of creation of the Business Intelligence by using QI information system data. The work concisely describes Business intelligence functions and its user's environment. QI system and the way of data storage are also defined in this dissertation. The following chapters describe the design and implementation of Business Intelligence itself over the actions made by registered employees. The proposal describes the design of a data storage system, a method of obtaining the necessary data from the QI information system, ETL process design, OLAP cubes design, and how to interpret the information in the form of reports. The last chapter then describes the realisation of all the proposed districts in MS SQL Server.

Dissertação de Mestrado em Engenharia Informática apresentada à Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de CoimbraCom o objectivo de melhorar os processos internos nas áreas de controlo do ciclo de vida dos suportes de publicidade de exterior (outdoors), bem como gerir o parque instalado, a empresa Espaços pretendeu desenvolver um sistema (Sistema Integrado de Gestão do Parque - SIGP) de modo a automatizar os procedimentos específicos do seu negócio. A aplicação é web based, no entanto, algumas funcionalidades podem ser utilizadas em dispositivos móveis que utilizem os sistemas Android e IOS. A aplicação criada possui não só a capacidade de gestão do parque instalado, o registo das características de um suporte, a criação de uma rede de suportes e respetivos preços de comercialização, como também permite integrar funcionalidades que cobrem todo o ciclo de vida do suporte: angariação, montagem, venda e respetiva afixação e eventual desmontagem do outdoor. Está também prevista a funcionalidade de gestão e controlo das atividades de manutenção preventiva e corretiva do suporte. A aplicação irá comunicar com o backoffice da empresa Espaços baseado em PHC (sistema ERP de faturação e financeiro). Esta integração irá enviar os dados necessários para o PHC poder emitir faturas. Os dados mestre relativos ao negócio específico da empresa estarão na posse do sistema construído ficando o PHC com a função de faturar e realizar o respetivo reflexo contabilístico. O sentido de integração é SIGP -> PHC, evitando-se assim integrações bidirecionais entre as duas aplicações. A abordagem proposta pela Softwell Europe (SE) consiste em realizar este desenvolvimento através do Maker®, plataforma que permite criar de uma forma muito rápido aplicações específicas aos processos de negócio das empresas. Esta plataforma, como será especificado no restante deste documento, permite criar de forma ágil não só aplicações web based, mas também aplicações móveis que, no limite, podem adaptar-se a qualquer tipo de necessidade de negócio. A metodologia proposta integra-se dentro do conceito RAD (Rapid Application Development), que permite de uma forma iterativa desenvolver a aplicação em conjunto com os utilizadores de negócio fomentado grande aproximação entre os programadores e os conhecedores do negócio. Com o desenvolvimento desta aplicação a empresa conseguiu o aumento da produtividade das atividades de gestão do parque de outdoors instalado. Através do ambiente integrado é conseguida de uma forma automática a obtenção de dados de negócio essenciais para a tomada de decisões táticas e operacionais. No futuro pretende-se igualmente que este ambiente permita a obtenção dos dados necessários para a tomada de decisões estratégicas nomeadamente a nível comercial e de localização geográfica de futuros suportes integrantes do parque instalado.

This research is to study the effectiveness of learning transfer by learning style and behavior modeling in face-to-face and asynchronous and synchronous environment with regard to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Courses related training. Its purpose was to determine which environment could best be utilized in computer related training to transfer of learning. A field experiment was conducted using ninety six students of graduate as subjects. Evaluation of trainees included a pre-using computer experience, near and far transfer tests, and summary test. Training treatments included face-to-face, on-line asynchronous, and synchronous learning environment. Performance outcomes were operationalized using near transfer performance and far transfer performance of the course as dependent variables. End-user satisfaction with the asynchronous and synchronous environment was also measured. Covariates, the middle evaluation score, were also into the study. The use of behavior modeling in face-to-face and asynchronous and synchronous environment resulted in transfer of learning has no significant difference; there is no significant difference in learning style. This research also shows that no interaction effect. Hence, using behavior modeling should support the software package on e-Learning.
