Abstract:
This paper attempts to present a solution that allows the users to scan the remote host machine on a network and to assess IPv6 enablement for MS-SQL. It aims to detect the hardware and the software installed on that machine. This goal is achieved by the use of Windows Application Programming Interface (API) through Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Scripts which handles the registry. WMI Scripts are used to connect to the registry of a remote host machine that reads the installed path of the software and hardware details of that machine. First, it will detect the underlying Operating System whether it can support IPv6 or not. If the underlying operating system can support IPv6, then only applications running on it can run on IPv6 enabled network. So for this the system also assesses the IPv6 enablement of MS-SQL Server.

Wireless internet is gaining wide spread usage in teaching affairs, especially in score query system development. This paper explores how simple Math score query system can be developed for mobile devices and introduces general framework for designing such score query applications. Using the framework, based on Microsoft database software SQL Server 2000, T-SQL clause is employed to program one stored procedure for Math score query. The framework utilizes mobile phones simulator software, Nokia WAP Toolkit, which interacts with a server-side ASP (Active Server Pages) in conjunction with the associated SQL Server database. The design and implementation of the management information system are discussed in the paper, and test results are presented.

Comparison of efficiency is not a trivial phenomenon because of disparities between different database systems. This paper presents a methodology of comparing relational database systems in respect of mean time of execution individual DML queries containing subqueries and conjunction of tables. The presented methodology can be additionally accommodated to studies of efficiency in a range of database system itself (study of queries executed directly in database engine). The described methodology allows to receive statement telling which database system is better in comparison to another in dependency of functionalities fulfilled by external application. In the article the analysis of mean time of execution individual DML queries was performed.Two research hypotheses have been put forward: "Microsoft SQL Server database system needs less time to execute INSERT and UPDATE queries than Oracle database" and "Oracle database system needs less time to execute DML queries with binary data than SQL Server"

Abstract:
This research investigates the effects on e-commerce system performance of alternative types of application controls that continually monitor transaction-processing activity. The three categories of controls examined were relatively simple controls involving calculations, more complicated controls requiring database lookups, and the most intensive controls involving the use of aggregate statistical functions. A test e-commerce platform comprising a sales order entry application was programmed using Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. The system, running on a Windows 2000 Server platform with the data in a SQL Server 2000 database, was stress-tested using Microsoft's web Application Stress tool. To gauge the performance of the system under low, medium, and high load conditions, various statistics were gathered including processor utilization, ASP requests per second, SQL Server transactions per second, ASP requests queued, and time to last byte of the main order processing script. Results revealed that calculation controls could easily be accommodated by the e-commerce system, regardless of system load. Lookup controls had a detrimental effect on system performance only when they were heavily used. Aggregate function controls had a dramatic negative impact on system performance. The results of this study are useful for both capacity planning and capacity management and provide support for both internal and external auditors requesting the inclusion of continuous monitoring controls in modern e-commerce systems.

Houve uma época em que os bancos de dados do modelo relacional eram a única solução viável, por serem seguros e de fácil manipulação. Com os avanços tecnológicos e a popularização da internet em todo o mundo, a cada instante um número considerável de novos dados são gerados, devido a esse fenômeno surgiram novas abordagens de manipulação de dados, a fim de atender às crescentes necessidades do mercado. Os bancos de dados NoSQL estão sendo cada vez mais reconhecidos como alternativas ao modelo relacional para manipulação de dados. Ambas as abordagens são boas para determinadas situações. Este trabalho tem como objetivo fazer um estudo comparativo entre banco de dados relacionais e banco de dados NoSQL. A nossa pesquisa compara os dois bancos de dados para ajudar o desenvolvedor a identificar qual plataforma é mais adequada para uma massa de dados específica e, assim, auxiliar na tomada de decisão com relação a qual a melhor escolha para o projeto em questão. A metodologia usada nesse trabalho é a análise das arquiteturas dos bancos de dados e teste envolvendo grandes massas de dados para a verificação do desempenho de cada banco. Nos resultados obtidos na nossa pesquisa observamos uma diferença surpreendente entre o banco de dados MS SQL Server e o MongoDB no tempo de inclusão de dados. Outro resultado que nos chamou a atenção fora o tempo de consulta entre o MongoDB e o MSSQL, que se mostrou significativo para nossas conclusões sobre que banco é mais recomendável para grandes requisições. Também notamos que há diferença no consumo de recursos de cada SGBD, podendo influenciar na escolha de uma das plataformas.

It can be used by the Maritime Administration (MARAD), Navy, or a ship-scrapping company to estimate ship-dismantling costs, to view inventory of surplus vessels, to view construction details of a vessel, and to determine the amount of petroleum products on board. Int the time of executing the recording and calculating the costumer loan transacton, PT BPR Metro Asia Mandiri uses Microsoft Excel.These problems will result uneffective and unoptimal.To reduce these problems, the writer takes the title “Perancangan Sistem Informasi Akuntansi Kredit Konsumtif dengan Menggunakan Software Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 dan SQL Server 2000 Berbasis Client Server”. As the research design the author uses research design with primary/secondary daya, the author uses qualitative data ande quantitative data, the author uses exploratory ande descriptive research as a research method, for data collection techniques the writer uses field studies consinting of interviews, obsrvation dand literature studies, the author using process, data and output oriented methodologies. The author use the waterfall model as a system design structure. Information system degin use contxt diagrams, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, flow diagram, normalization and Entity Relationshop Diagrams.

The design of the infological model, the data design, the physical design, the architecture of the software and hardware complex are given. Possibilities of plasma spraying of implants with biocompatible elements are investigated. The system of classification of implants according to the type of application and manufacturing materials has been developed, implants have been classified according to the geometric-topological dimensions of the components. A scheme of plasma spraying of metal and ceramic surfaces of parts and assemblies using a robotic complex is described.

This paper proposes an approach that uses serial communication based on the Windows system to collect the manufacturing data through multi-thread mechanism. The data collection system adopts two levels control architecture. The down streaming level is based on several data collection terminals that use ARM chips as central processing units (CPU). The upper level is consisted of personal computers which are connected to the communication network through RS-422, aiming to transfer the data on one side. On the other side, these computers interact with data server, aiming to transmit the data to the processing center. SQL Server 2000 has been utilized as the data manager within this system which uses multi-thread technology to continuously enquiry the data collection terminals (DCTs). After the practical implementation, this system is qualified in the manufacturing environment with high reliability, real-time feature as well as quick responses to the users when they operating the DCTs.

Based on the yearly catch data (1994~2011) of Chinese fishery and inversed SST from satellite remote sensing in North Pacific Ocean, we developed the predicting system of fishing grounds using Bayesian probability theory. The system used the client/service mode; while the database used the SQL Server 2000 data management system combining with the Control type GIS technology. The precision verification using historical catch data was conducted and the results showed that the prediction accuracy of fishing and non-fishing ground were 69.46% and 57.15%, respectively, and the total average predict rate of accuracy was 63.31%. The predicting system showed important advising significance in foresting fishing ground and fishing activity of the flying squid in North Pacific Ocean.

This report includes information on the acquirement, expression, and inference and management of KBE. The structure of the KBE system was established by selecting the principles of processing parameters and optimizing the model of machining data and by using the method of expressing knowledge of combining producing type with frame type and by using the software SQL server 2000. The inferential mechanism of every functional module in the system was realized by applying the software, VC++ 6.0. The KBE technology will help technicians to share expert knowledge and experience, and to optimize cutting parameters to intellectualize cutting design and machining.
