Os efeitos cruzados de três revoluções (tecnológica, econômica e sociocultural) que confrontam a maioria das empresas têm feito a mudança organizacional um tema central de estudo, em virtude da crescente necessidade de adaptação a ambientes instáveis e sobrevivência sob condições incertas. Congruente com os recentes desenvolvimentos da teoria organizacional, o modelo teóric de Greenwood e Hinings (1996) busca esclarecer a incidência da mudança radical, unindo pressupostos do velho e do novo institucionalismo. O modelo sugere que a mudança radical resulta da influência dos contextos mercadológico e institucional sobre as dinâmicas internas da organização (insatisfação de interesses de indivíduos e grupos, comprometimento com valores, dependências de poder e capacidade para ação). O presente trabalho mostra sua aplicabilidade ampla e testa as relações entre as condições propostas pelos autores por meio da técnica de modelagem de equações estruturais. Os dados foram coletados em três organizações (N= 244) que enfrentam fortes pressões institucionais e cujo sucesso depende da confiança e estabilidade alcançada pela conformidade às regras institucionais. Escalas do tipo Likert de cinco pontos foram construídas para acessar precisamente a percepção dos participantes. Os resultados indicam que os dados se adequam ao modelo de forma satisfatória, apesar de algumas alterações em seu desenho serem requeridas. O contexto mercadológico se apresentou como o melhor preditor de mudança radical, apesar desta relação não ser sugerida no modelo teórico. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The crossed effects of a three branched revolution (technologic, economic and socioculture wide) confronting most companies hava made organizational change a central theme due to their need to adapt to unstable environments and survive under uncertain conditions. Scholars and professionals struggle to solve the issue of how organizations can successfully change. Congruent with recent developments of organizational theory, Greenwood and Hinings (1996) theoretical framework seeks to enlighten the incidence of radical change, bringing together assumptions of the old and new institutionalism. The framework suggests that radical change results from the influence of market and institutional environments on the organization internal dynamics (group interest dissatisfaction, value commitment, power dependencies and capacity for action). This paper shows its broad applicability by testing the relationship between its conditions through SEM (structural equation modeling). Data were collected from three organizations (N= 244) facing strong institutional pressures and which success depends on confidence and stability achieved by conformity to institutional rules. A five point likert scale was built to each variable to precisely access employee perception. Results indicate the framework fits data satisfactorily, although a few alterations on its design are required. Market environment seems to be the best predictor of organizational change (β= 0.38, p< 0.000) although it’s not predicted on the original framework.

Full textDesde que foram reconhecidas como uma fonte de acesso e geração de vantagens competitivas pelas empresas, as redes de negócios têm merecido uma atenção crescente na academia e no mundo dos negócios. Estas redes são frequentemente vistas como combinando uma elevada estabilidade com processos de mudança contínua, mais ou menos incrementais, tanto ao nível da díada como em partes da rede. Neste trabalho procura-se explorar este fenómeno recorrendo a uma tipologia de interfaces relacionais para analisar um caso longitudinal numa rede focal no contexto da indústria automóvel. Partindo da noção de que as díadas são geradoras, receptoras e transmissoras da mudança, testou-se a relevância da noção das "interfaces relacionais" para avaliar a co-existência entre estabilidade e mudança na rede focal manifestada na variação e estabilização desses interfaces num dado momento e ao longo do tempo. Os resultados deste estudo sugerem que a tipologia de interfaces constitui um quadro adequado para ajudar a entender melhor a geração de estabilidade e mudança nas redes.
Since they have been recognized as a source of access and generation of competitive advantages for the member firms, inter-organizational networks have received a growing attention in scholar and business world. Networks are often seen as high stability structures combined with processes of continuous change, more or less incremental, both at dyad level as well as in parts of the networks. This work attempts to explore this phenomenon using a typology of resource interfaces to analyze a longitudinal case of a focal network in the context of automotive industry. Starting from the notion that dyads are generators, recipients and transmitters of change in networks, was tested the relevance of the "resource interfaces" notion to evaluate the coexistence between stability and change in a focal network expressed in variation and stabilization of those interfaces in a certain period and along the time. The results of the present study suggests that the typology of "resource interfaces" provides an appropriate framework to help a better understanding of the stability and change in networks.

Full textThis work aims to study the epistemological concept of environmental sustainability through Cartesian and economic theoretical paradigms. This analysis guides the modern society development, which causes deterioration on social and environmental fields. It also includes the environmental history study, which expresses, over time, different sustainability concept meanings, so, nowadays, sustainable development is a widespread idea. These different conceptions are analyze on theories like; Kuznets´s, Solow´s, market laws, ecodevelopment and ecossocialism, grouped in two main ideas: the radical ecology, concept focused on changes in the current development model; and moderated ecology, suggesting soft changes, without affecting the society structure. These conceptions differ about the configuration of the environmental debate structures relationships: the social and economic fields, which use ideas such as, education, interdisciplinary, technology and sustainable development in several ways. These analyses are translated to scientific research, an important environmental discussion forum issue by questioning the character of science, taking FAPESP Thematic Projects as data for a case study. Despite this possibility, these projects follow the concept of environmental sustainability adopted by the economic system, the moderate ecology, which based its solutions on technique, coherent to the prevailing paradigms.

Full textA 30 de janeiro de 2020, a Organização Mundial de Saúde declarou que o vírus SARS CoV 2,~popularmente~designado como Covid-19, gerou um surto pandémico a nível global (Sohrabi, Alsafi, O’Neill, Khan, Kerwan, Al-Jabir e Agha, 2020). Logo, para diminuir a propagação do mesmo, vários países em todo o mundo fecharam as suas fronteiras perante o exterior, com medidas que acabaram por gerar recessões e uma sucessiva crise económica global (Sohrabi et al, 2020; Restubog, Carmella, Ocampo e Wang, 2020; International Labour Organization, 2020; Wall Street Journal, 2020). Estas medidas, pela forma especial da atividade do setor hoteleiro, tiveram um elevado impacto na sua atividade (Restubog et al, 2020; Mao, Morrison e Coca-Stefanik, 2020). Nesse sentido é importante perceber, qual o impacto dos níveis de Commitment e de Resiliência nos trabalhadores do setor hoteleiro, durante as medidas de combate à Covi 19. Deste modo, questiona-se: A) Como se relaciona, em tempos de crise, o Commtiment e a Resiliência a nível organizacional (?); B) Variáveis relativas às perceções dos colaboradores poderão ter sido afetadas (?); C) O investimento em Capital Organizacional e em medidas de Responsabilidade Social Corporativa, ajudam a manter adequados níveis de Commitment e de Resiliência, para fazer face às limitações impostas pelas medidas de combate à Covid-19 (?); D) Os níveis de Commitment e de Resiliência são influenciados pela dimensão da organização (?). As principais conclusões deste estudo foram: A) Os resultados da relação entre o Commitment e a Resiliência, com as perceções pessoais dos colaboradores que foram afetadas, explicando o desempenho organizacional necessário para ultrapassar esta época e retomar a normalidade, assim que possível; B) O quão crítico é o investimento em medidas de Responsabilidade Social Corporativa; C) Os recursos que a organização tem disponíveis, determinam o seu sucesso.
On January 30th of 2020, World Health Organization declared that Sars-Cov-2 Virus, popularly known as "Covid-19", created a global pandemic outbreak (Sohrabi, Alsafi, O’Neill, Khan, Kerwan, Al-Jabir & Agha, 2020). Consequently, due to Health concerns, various countries shut down their borders, creating a global economic crisis (Sohrabi et al, 2020; Restubog, Carmella, Ocampo & Wang, 2020; International Labour Organization, 2020; Wall Street Journal, 2020). These measures had an impact on the global hotel industry (Restubog et al, 2020; Mao, Morrison & Coca-Stefanik, 2020). Therefore, the impact of Commitment and Resilience in hotel employees had been affected, creating several questions such as: A) How works the relationship between Commitment and Resilience (?); B) How affected were variables related to employees personal perceptions (?); C) The investment of Organizational Capital and Corporate Social Responsibility, helps maintain adequate levels of Commitment and Resilience to overcome the limitations created by these measures (?); D) Are the levels of Commitment and Resilience influenced by the companies dimension (?). The main conclusions of this study were: A) The results between Commitment and Resilience with the employees’ personal perceptions, explain the levels of organizational performance needed to overcome this stage, in order to return to normality with success; B) How critical is the investment of Corporate Social Responsibility for the success; C) The company’s organizational resources determine its success.

Full textThe present study is aimed at verifying of the educational nurses; with a doctor's degree, master and specialist have feelings of pleasure and of suffering generated at the work, due to a radical curricular implementation. I focuses on the understanding the conception a nurse has in he working function as a teacher in her daily professional practice. The subject of the curricular implementation was selected to support the research accomplishment that is characterized in a quantitative exploratory study, with the use of the Likert scale, in a sample of thirty educational nurses with a degree in nursing in the State University of Londrina, North of Paraná. The instrument used for collection of data possesses 39 questions that evaluated the factors: valorization, wearing and recognition. The study contemplates two theoretical conceptions: the perspective relational pleasure and suffering, while feelings that involve the teachers quotidian, therefore, social processes; and the psychodynamic of the work in that he/she expresses the confrontation of the subject with the reality of that quotidian, as a theoretical alternative that permeates the analysis of the dynamics of the psychic processes. After having tested the hypothesis, the reflections obtained on the results, indicate that most of the educational nurses feel appreciated, it doesn't live suffering feelings due to the wear that the curricular implementation of the change provokes, however, it lives suffering feelings by virtue of the non recognition for the work and in the way that he/she executes it. The results send the reflection about the factors that provoke the pleasure and suffering feelings in the process of radical change that involves the structure in the nursing course, while political space in itself, strategic for the implementation of a curricular change, that is configured in one of the fundamental aspects of the organization of the educational work. And they reveal one of the teacher's significant roads, in her/his relationship with the task and colleagues because they establish the factors that interact directly in the pleasure and suffering feelings, enlarging discussion spaces and possibilities of adoption of new strategies to administer the conflicts in the academic context of nursing.

Full textThis study aims to evaluate the replacement of potassium by sodium in diameter growth and wood quality of Eucalyptus grandis trees, planted in spacing 3x2 m and fertilized with potassium and sodium (at planting, 6 and 12th month), order to guide the mineral fertilization with potassium and sodium in forest plantation subjected to water stress. Were selected 60 eucalyptus trees at 101th month, in five classes of basal area and were evaluated the increment in trunk diameter, every 14 days, from February 2006 to September 2012, through dendrometer bands. For sampling the wood, discs were collected in six positions (base, DBH, 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%) of the total tree height. The samples were used to evaluate the anatomical properties (fibers and vessels), physical (basic density weighted by hydrostatic balance, near infrared spectroscopy and apparent density by X rays densitometry), mechanical (strength and stiffness in static bending and strength in compression parallel to grain), chemical (lignin, holocellulose, extractives and ash contents) and radial variation of Ca, K, Mg , Na, and P (by laser induced breakdown spectroscopy) according to the fertilization treatments, classes of basal area, radial and longitudinal positions of the stem. The results show that the eucalyptus trees with potassium and sodium treatments and larger class of the basal area demonstrated higher rates of increase in stem in relation to control trees and other classes of basal area. Effect of seasonality was found in trunk diameter, with periods of maximum and minimum growth. Except the weighted density, all other properties of the wood analyzed showed significant differences due to fertilization. The determination of the density by NIR showed satisfactory results with coefficient of determination close to 0.70. Higher values of the chemical elements K and Na were found in the tree\'s wood of the respective treatments. All studied nutrients were higher in the wood in external position (100 % of the radius). The results allow to conclue that the fertilization with K and Na induced the largest increases in trunk diameter and influenced the properties of the wood. The influence of sodium and potassium fertilization demonstrated by Eucalyptus grandis in water deficit periods for the region studied is clear, once during periods of low rainfall the seasonal variation of growth presented itself differently in relation to periods with higher amounts of rainfall.
