Abstract:

Artikel ini akan membahas tentang upaya kiai Misbahul Munir dalam meningkatkan minat belajar santri di pondok pesantren Gubug Al-Munir melalui pembacaan sholawat, pengajian kitab Al-Hikam dan pembacaan istighosah setiap malam kamis. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa upaya yang dilakukan kiai Misbahul Munir dalam meningkatkan minat belajar santri di pondok pesantren Gubug Al-Munir yaitu menenangkan hati santri dengan membaca sholawat burdah sebelum pembelajaran berlangsung. Secara perlahan kiai mengajarkan para santri untuk membentuk karakter muslim agar hidupanya menjadi bermakna, tenteran dan indah. Setelah membaca kitab Al-Hikam, kiai menutup kegiatan di pondok pesantren dengan membaca istighosah agar hati santri tentram dan apa yang sudah diajarkan mantap dalam hati para santri.

Abstract:

An overview of the tribe Chloantheae (Lamiaceae) is presented. Nomenclatural changes associated with reinstating Dasymalla Endl. and Quoya Gaudich. as distinct genera from Pityrodia s.lat. are provided. The genus Dasymalla consists of five species previously in Pityrodia, whereas seven species of the latter genus are transferred to Quoya. The circumscription of Hemiphora F.Muell. is expanded to include four species previously included in Pityrodia and Hemiphora lanata (Munir) B.J.Conn & M.J.Henwood is formally recognised as a species, based on Pityrodia exserta (Benth.) Munir var. lanata Munir. The new genus Muniria N.Streiber & B.J.Conn is described and consists of four species occurring in the Northern Territory (Australia) that were previously in Pityrodia. A summary of the diagnostic features of Dasymalla, Hemiphora, Muniria and Quoya is presented. The synapomorphies supporting the genera of ‘Physopsideae’ sensu Munir are described, whereas no synapomorphies for Newcastelia or Physopsis were found in the data. A key distinguishing the genera of the tribe is included.

Abstract:

This study aims to explain and analyze Abdul Munir Mulkhan's sufism-style education thoughts in dealing with the problems of modern society. This thought is an exploration of ideas that aims to find a contemporary educational format that can overcome the pathologies of modernity and modernism. This study uses a historical method, with primary data derived from interviews with sources and secondary data from literature reviews of the works of other sources and writers with related themes. This research finds that the concept of education with Abdul Munir Mulkhan’s sufism-style is an attempt to deconstruct theological doctrines in Islam and conventional sufism and direct them to the functionalization of Islam in social life. The epistemology of Sufism developed in Abdul Munir Mulkhan's sufism-style education aims to synthesize an objective-empirical paradigm with a subjective-intuitive nature so as to create an integrative paradigm model. Abdul Munir Mulkhan's sufism-style education ultimately aims to open people's internal awareness of situations, conditions, and spiritual responsibilities that can lead people to improve their self-quality and be responsive to the changes that occur around them, as well as to improve the welfare of other humans through the science of charity and the scientific charity. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis pemikiran pendidikan bercorak sufisme Abdul Munir Mulkhan dalam menghadapi problematika masyarakat modern. Pemikiran tersebut merupakan eksplorasi pemikiran yang bertujuan mencari format pendidikan kontemporer yang dapat mengatasi patologi modernitas dan modernisme. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode historis, dengan data primer berasal dari hasil wawancara dengan narasumber serta data sekunder berasal dari telaah pustaka terhadap karya-karya narasumber dan penulis lainnya dengan tema yang terkait. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa konsep pendidikan bercorak sufisme Abdul Munir Mulkhan merupakan upaya mendekonstruksi doktrin-doktrin teologis dalam Islam dan tasawuf konvensional dan mengarahkannya pada fungsionalisasi agama Islam dalam kehidupan sosial. Epistemologi tasawuf yang dikembangkan dalam pendidikan bercorak sufisme Abdul Munir Mulkhan bertujuan untuk menyintesis paradigma objektif-empiris dengan subjektif-intuitif sehingga tercipta suatu model paradigma yang bersifat integratif. Pendidikan bercorak sufisme Abdul Munir Mulkhan pada akhirnya bertujuan untuk membuka kesadaran internal manusia terhadap situasi, kondisi, dan tanggungjawab spiritual yang dapat mengantarkan manusia ke arah perbaikan kualitas diri dan tanggap terhadap perubahan yang terjadi di sekitarnya, sekaligus dapat menyejahterakan manusia lainnya melalui ilmu amaliah dan amal yang ilmiah.

The results and discussion of this research include the understanding of ethics, the meaning of the Tafsir Al-Munir, and the ethics decorated with the perspective of Tafsir Al-Munir on sociological analysis. This research concludes that decorating is a necessity of human life that must be equipped with ethics. The ethics inherent in decorative activities can give rise to good views from the surrounding environment to create collective goodness in the sphere of social life. This study recommends that further research be carried out related to ethics and decoration based on other interpretive perspectives.

Abstract:

Abstract This research examines Donald Trump and David Muir’s Utterances on ABC News and in Charlie Rose Show. The researcher also focuses positive politeness used by David Muir and Donald Trump. The researcher mainly utilized Pragmatics theory by Brown and Levinson which consists of four strategies, there are positive politeness, negative politeness, bald on record, and off record but, the researcher only focuses in positive politeness. As the methodology, the researcher used descriptive-qualitative approach to concern the description and the interpretation of Donald Trump videos. Under descriptive-qualitative method, this research significantly gives a wider understanding about how linguistic subjects emerges through pragmatics structure. The researcher gathered the data by downloading the interviews of Donald Trump on ABC News and in Charlie Rose Show, also the factors that influenced positive politeness used by David Muir and Donald Trump. As the result, there are 28 data were collected in this research and contained 10 types of positive politeness strategies based on Brown and Levinson’s theory. Moreover, there are two factors that influenced David Muir and Donald Trump. Those are social distance and relative power. Keywords: Pragmatics, Politeness Strategy, Positive Politeness, Donald trump, David Muir.Abstrakpenelitian ini meneliti ucapan Donald Trump dan David Muir di ABC News dan Charlie Rose Show. Peneliti juga memfokuskan pada strategi kesantunan positif yang digunakan oleh David Muir dan Donald Trump. Peneliti menggunakan teori pragmatik dari Brown and Levinson yang terdiri dari empat strategi yaitu, kesantunan positif, kesantunan negatif, ujaran secara langsung, ujaran secara tidak langsung. Tetapi, peneliti hanya lebih fokus di strategi kesantunan positif. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang berhubungan dengan deskripsi dan interpretasi dari video Donald Trump. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif bisa memberikan pengertian lebih luas tentang pelajaran linguistik dengan melalui teori pragmatik. Peneliti memperolah data dengan mengunduh video wawancara Donald Trump di ABC News dan Charlie Rose Show dan ada dua faktor yang mempengaruhi David Muir dan Donald Trump. Sebagai hasil dari penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan 28 data yang terdapat di penelitian ini dan ada 10 macam srategi kesantunan positif. Selain itu ada 2 sebab yang mempengaruhi David Muir dan Donald Trump untuk melakukan strategi kesopanan positif yaitu jarak sosial dan kekuasaan tidak mutlak. Kata kunci: Pragmatik, Strategi Kesantunan, Kesantunan Positif, Donald Trump, David Muir.

Abstract:

Background: We investigated the mutational landscape of skin tumors in patients with Muir-Torre Syndrome (MTS) a hereditary autosomal dominant mismatch repair disorder of increased cancer susceptibility, and examined mutations other than in the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) genes. Methods: This retrospective single-center case series included seven patients with the diagnosis of Muir-Torre Syndrome with precise medical history and family history. Mutational analysis of tumor samples Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks of skin lesions associated with Muir-Torre Syndrome were used for further analysis. All skin tumors were analyzed with the Oncomine Comprehensive Assay v3 (Life Technologies), which includes 161 of the most relevant cancer driver genes. Results: Eleven skin neoplasms (nine sebaceous tumors, one melanoma, one cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma) were diagnosed in seven patients. In two patients, visceral malignancies preceded the diagnosis of the skin tumors and one patient was diagnosed with a visceral malignancy after a sebaceous tumor. History of familial cancer of Lynch Syndrome (LS) was reported in three patients. The most frequently detected mutation was in the MSH2 gene, followed by mutations in the NOTCH1/2 and TP53 gene. Conclusion, this study provides a molecular analysis of Muir-Torre Syndrome associated and non-associated skin tumors in patients with Muir-Torre Syndrome. Patients with sebaceous lesions should undergo microsatellite instability analysis and accurate evaluation of personal and family history to detect a possible Muir-Torre syndrome. As secondary malignancies may appear years after the first occurrence of sebaceous tumors, lifelong screening is mandatory.

Abstract:

This article elaborates the tafsir methodology used by local scholars, namely AG. Daud Ismail. This research is descriptive-analytic, which describes comprehensively the methodology of Tafsir al-Munir written by AG. H. Daud Ismail, which includes manhaj, sources, and ṭariqah (method). This research's primary and secondary sources are literature, which dominantly focuses on textbook research, especially Tafsir al-Munir in Buginese language written by AG. H. Daud Ismail. The results showed that Tafsir al-Munir used the tahlili methodology by explaining the relationship (munasabah) between verses or between one chapter and another. Explaining the causes of the descent (asbab al-nuzul), Analyzing vocabulary (mufradat) and the point of view of Arabic pronunciation from, Describing the general content of the verse, Explaining the fasahah elements, bayan and i'jaz, Explaining the laws that can be drawn from the discussed verse, Explaining the meaning and purpose contained on the verse which interpreted in fiqh style.

John Muir can be interpreted to have employed a similar strategy in his earliest conservation advocacy writings as the strategy Ralph Waldo Emerson employed to overcome the public futility of his personal ideals. Like Emerson, Muir came to offset the despair he felt at the political impotence of his conscience with a positive outlook on his potential to embody his subjective ideals both in his personal character and in his contributions to concrete forms of social practice. Muir thus can be shown to have standing in the environmental virtue ethics tradition by dint of his appreciation for the necessity of virtuous political participation in movements for social reform.

Abstract:

In this article the authors look at their experiences teaching the trespass torts to law students using a documentary film about Muir v. Alberta. The case was brought by Leilani Muir against the government of Alberta for battery and false imprisonment and for sterilizing her without her knowledge or consent. The documentary follows Muir’s court case, and interweaves her personal story with the larger social history of the eugenics movement and the development of The Sexual Sterilization Act. The authors begin with a description of the Muir documentary and a discussion of the ways in which the texts, written and filmic, work together in the context of telling Muir’s story. The authors then discuss film as a medium for telling legal stories. Finally, the authors reflect on their classroom experiences with the various Muir texts, and the ways in which the film assists them in teaching both the particular case and torts more generally. The authors suggest that complementing case reports with documentaries about them, or events related to the case, helps to provide alternative and sometimes counter stories to the official account.

The transfer of two species renders Iolania Kirkaldy, 1902 absent from Australia and endemic to Hawaii. Iolania clypealis Muir, 1931 is transferred into Leades Jacobi, 1928, resulting in the new combination Leades clypealis (Muir). The new genus Yamirrina gen. nov. is created to accommodate Iolania vittipennis Muir, 1931, which leads to the new combination Yamirrina vittipennis (Muir). Another species, Yamirrina concolor sp. nov., is added to the genus. The hitherto monotypic genus Leades is revised, and with the addition of four new species, Leades grandis sp. nov., L. ginginensis sp. nov., L. centralis sp. nov., L. warro sp. nov., and with L. clypealis and L. rufinus Jacobi, 1928, Leades now contains six species in total. Leades and Yamirrina are endemic to Australia. Redescriptions are provided for Leades rufinus, L. clypealis and Y. vittipennis. Identification keys to the genera of Australian Cixiini, and to all species of Leades and Yamirrina, are presented and host plant relationships are discussed. The relation of influence between Ralph Waldo Emerson and John Muir helps to illuminate Muir’s characteristic brand of nature religion, namely his mysticism. This relation is especially clear, I argue, in both Emerson and Muir’s writing on their mystical affinities for plant life. Applying Harold Bloom’s renowned theory of literary influence, I draw lessons from Emerson and Muir’s mystical writings to highlight the ways in which Muir acquired from Emerson the plant-related vocabularies and practices that came to mediate his nature-inspired mysticism and also how Muir can be said to have surpassed Emerson’s own mystical example, thus opening new vistas of consciousness in human–plant relations in the nineteenth-century American religious experience.

Muir-Torre syndrome (MTS) is a rare autosomal-dominant genodermatosis characterized by sebaceous neoplasms and one or more visceral malignancies. Sebaceous tumors include sebaceous adenoma and carcinoma, which may be solitary or multiple. Visceral malignancies most often arise in the colorectum and endometrium. Because a subset of patients with phenotypic MTS will have germline mutations in the DNA mismatch repair genes hMSH2 and hMLH1, MTS is considered a phenotypic subtype of Lynch syndrome (also known as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer syndrome), in which inherited defects in DNA mismatch repair genes result in microsatellite instability. Pathologists have an important role in the early detection and initial diagnosis of MTS: identification of at-risk individuals allows appropriate screening and surveillance for visceral malignancies, thereby reducing morbidity and mortality. Herein, we describe the clinicopathologic features of MTS.
