Abstract:
Mulita é o único composto termodinamicamente estável no sistema binário Al2O3 - SiO2, na faixa 70,5 a 74,0% em peso de Al2O3. Mulita metaestável na faixa de 74 a 83,6% de Al2O3, entretanto, pode ser obtida. Devido às suas excelentes propriedades físicas e mecânicas a altas temperaturas, como alto ponto de fusão, baixa expansão térmica, boa resistência à fratura e ao choque térmico, alta resistência à fluência, estabilidade térmica, baixa densidade e baixa constante dielétrica, tem tido um uso cada vez maior em corpos cerâmicos. O mineral mulita, porém, é raro e quase inexistente na natureza. Para atender a um mercado crescente, mulitas sintéticas são produzidas, por meio de misturas de pós de Al2O3 e SiO2 em escala molecular, usando técnica sol-gel, ou por meio da calcinação de minerais que contenham sílica e alumina em suas estruturas, os chamados alumino-silicatos. Normalmente estes minerais contêm impurezas e, muitas vezes, produzem uma mulita acompanhada de uma fase vítrea. Neste trabalho é feito o estudo alternativo para se obter uma mulita pura e de baixo custo por meio da calcinação do topázio Al2SiO4[Fx (OH)1-x]2. Topázio incolor e imperial foram utilizados para a produção de mulita. O topázio incolor não tem valor gemológico nem comercial e é abundante na natureza. Para o topázio imperial foram usados refugos provenientes de sua extração. O rendimento da calcinação foi alto, cerca de 80%, obtido a uma temperatura não muito alta, em torno de 1300 ºC, produzindo uma mulita muito pura e sem fase vítrea. A microestrutura da mulita obtida foi do tipo agulhas (whiskers de mulita) e apresentou alta porosidade. Essa microestrutura e porosidade são duas propriedades intrínsecas que estão associadas à decomposição do topázio. Este estudo mostrou que o topázio é uma fonte alternativa para a produção de mulita de baixo custo e de alta qualidade.

Abstract:
Controversy regarding female genital mutilation based on arguments occurred from various circles, both scholars, health experts and academics. Indonesia did not escape the debate. The Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) and the two largest Islamic Community Organizations (Ormas) in Indonesia issued different fatwas. MUI has a sunnah fatwa, the Batsul Masa'il Institute of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) has a sunnah and obligatory fatwa, and the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Institute condemns it as haram. In the midst of the heat of this feud, Musdah Mulia, a progressive Muslim feminist, came up with her thoughts on banning female genital mutilation. The focus of this research is Musdah Mulia's thoughts on female genital mutilation. This study aims to determine the characteristics and legal arguments of Musdah Mulia's thoughts on female genital mutilation. This study uses qualitative methods, while in collecting data the author used primary data in the form of interviews and secondary data from literature review in the form of books, articles and publications of scientific papers related to research. As for the analysis, the author used descriptive analysis method, which is a way of writing that prioritizes observations of actual symptoms, events and conditions in the present and then concludes things that are considered important and relevant. The results of the research show that Musdah Mulia's thoughts on female genital mutilation based on the arguments in the Al-Qur'an and Hadits. Musdah also emphasized aspects of benefit, basic medical and human rights. Practicing female circumcision is tantamount to doing things that are dangerous to women. Therefore, based on the above considerations, Musdah Mulia said the appropriate rule of law is la ḍarara wa la ḍirar, the meaning of which is to stay away from something dangerous is prioritized. Abstrak Kontroversi mengenai sunat perempuan dengan dilandaskan argumentasi-argumentasi terjadi dari berbagai kalangan, baik ulama, ahli kesehatan maupun akademisi. Indonesia tidak luput dari perdebatan tersebut. Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) dan juga dua Organisasi Kemasyarakatan (Ormas) Islam terbesar di Indonesia mengeluarkan fatwa yang berbeda. MUI berfatwa sunnah, Lembaga Batsul Masa’il dari Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) berfatwa sunnah dan wajib, dan Lembaga Tarjih Muhammadiyah menghukumi haram. Di tengah hangatnya perseteruan ini, Musdah Mulia, seorang feminis muslim progresif, muncul dengan pemikirannya yang melarang sunat perempuan. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah pemikiran Musdah Mulia tentang sunat perempuan. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dan juga argumentasi hukum pemikiran Musdah Mulia tentang sunat perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, dalam mengumpulkan data penulis menggunakan data primer berupa wawancara dan data sekunder kajian kepustakaan berupa buku, artikel dan publikasi karya ilmiah. Analisis yang penulis gunakan metode deskriptif analisis, yaitu cara penulisan yang mengutamakan pengamatan terhadap gejala, peristiwa dan kondisi aktual pada masa kini kemudian menyimpulkan hal-hal yang dianggap penting dan relevan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Musdah Mulia tentang sunat perempuan didasarkan oleh dalil-dalil dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadis. Musdah juga menekankan aspek kemaslahatan, dasar medis dan hak asasi manusia. Dengan melakukan praktik sunat perempuan berarti sama saja dengan melakukan hal yang berbahaya kepada perempuan. Oleh karenanya, berdasarkan pertimbangan-pertimbangan di atas, Musdah Mulia mengatakan kaidah hukum yang tepat adalah la ḍarara wa la ḍirar, maksudnya adalah menjauhi sesuatu yang membahayakan diutamakan.

This article discusses joyful learning method in Insan Mulia Surabaya School of Nature and describes ICT-based art education (Information and Communication Technology) at Insan Mulia School of Nature Surabaya. This research uses qualitative approach and descriptive research type. Data collection procedure is done by observation and interview method. Data analysis activities started from the data collection stage, the reduction phase, the data presentation stage, and the conclusion drawing stage. Data validation checks are performed with source triangulation, and method triangulation. The results of the study showed that: (1) Bina Insan Mulia’s school education has a learning model of joyful learning (2) ICT-based arts education (Information and Communication Technology) to make student learning activities more interesting and not monotonous.Artikel ini membahas tentang metode pedidikan joyful learning di Sekolah Alam Insan Mulia Surabaya dan mendeskripsikan pendidikan seni berbasis ICT (Information and Communication Technology) di Sekolah Alam Insan Mulia Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Prosedur pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan wawancara. Kegiatan analisis data dimulai dari tahap pengumpulan data, tahap reduksi, tahap penyajian data, serta tahap penarikan kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber, dan triangulasi metode. Abstract:
<p><em>The discussion of marriage guardian is one of the pillars that must exist in a marriage, illegitimate marriage without the presence of a guardian. The Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) as the law governing Muslim marriages in Indonesia requires guardians as a legal condition of marriage (articles 14 and 19). However, on the other hand, one of the Muslim intellectuals, Siti Musdah Mulia, stated an opposing idea, that guardians are not included in the pillars of marriage. The results showed that the Musdah Mulia thinking generally led to the typology of liberal Islamic thought. Specifically on the issue of the absence of guardians in marriage, Musdah's opinions are not too contrary to the text; Musdah's attention to gender places a substantial portion in establishing the law; and the Musdah idea is not only channeled in the form of thought alone but also poured into the form of a legal regulation draft (CLD-KHI) so that the law applies comprehensively and can be applied clearly and can achieve justice and social benefit in the midst of the people. Then based on this, a specific typology of Musdah Mulia's thought was obtained about the absence of guardians in the marriage harmony leading to progressive Islamic thought. And Musdah Mulia's ideas about the lack of marriage guardians have sufficient relevance to the renewal of Islamic family law in Indonesia.</em></p>

Abstract:
En este trabajo se presentan nuevos aportes sobre la historia natural de la mulita pampeana Dasypus hybridus (Desmarest, 1804) (Mammalia, Xenarthra, Dasypodidae). Los estudios de campo fueron llevados a cabo en 100 ha de cuatro establecimientos agropecuarios de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Durante tres años se realizó un muestreo estacional de armadillos por captura y liberación. Se obtuvieron datos de hábitos alimentarios, uso del espacio y del tiempo, comportamiento, termorregulación, datos poblacionales y morfológicos. Se realizaron 71 capturas. En la dieta el ítem principal registrado fue material vegetal, seguido por hormigas e insectos coleópteros; no se observó una diferencia estacional en los hábitos alimentarios. La actividad de las mulitas se concentra durante el día, existió una baja en la frecuencia de observación durante las estaciones frías (otoño e invierno). La mulita pampeana prefiere suelos húmicos, terrenos altos y pastizales densos y altos; asimismo seleccionan los montes para refugiarse. Son individuos asociales. La temperatura rectal mostró correlaciones positivas con la temperatura ambiente. La proporción de sexos fue cercana a uno y no se observó dimorfismo sexual. Los resultados obtenidos concuerdan parcialmente con lo observado para otras especies del género, destacando las tendencias observadas en los hábitos alimentarios y en la estrategia termorregulatoria. Este trabajo representa un aporte en varios aspectos de una especie poco estudiada en una zona bajo importantes presiones de uso y modificación de hábitat.

The pros and cons of polygamy in Indonesia are still an interesting discussion. This discussion becomes increasingly fierce when the facts around us present polygamists who use religious teachings as an excuse for polygamy. Even though polygamy is a personal choice because the essence of Islamic teachings adheres to a monogamous marriage system. Therefore Prof. Dr. Siti Musdah Mulia through her book "Islam Sues Polygamy (Islam Menggugat Poligami)" tries to put this understanding back into perspective, by analyzing 114 verses of the Koran about marriage which concludes that it rejects and even forbids polygamy. The question that arises in this research is: What is the relevance of Musdah Mulia's thoughts on the Marriage Law in Indonesia? This research, which is literature research, is qualitative with a gender analysis approach, complemented by an analytical description of Musdah's thoughts, concluding that the basic principle of Islamic marriage according to Musdah Mulia is monogamy, not polygamy. Musdah also concluded that it was necessary to revise Marriage Law Number 1 of 1974 because it was at odds with the essence of Islam, rahmatan lil alamin.

Intisari - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang sistem informasi akuntansi pada siklus pendapatan perusahaan Susu Sapi Mulia. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Partisipan yang diwawancarai adalah pemilik dan karyawan perusahaan Susu Sapi Mulia. Objek observasi adalah kantor dan tempat distribusi Susu Sapi Mulia. Dokumen yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini merupakan arsip perusahaan Susu Sapi Mulia periode 2014-2015 yang bersinggungan dengan kegiatan pada siklus pendapatan. Temuan yang teridentifikasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pengaplikasian sistem informasi akuntansi yang tidak efisien dan efektif sehingga informasi yang dihasilkan kurang memenuhi kriteria informasi yang bermanfaat. Temuan tersebut digunakan untuk merancang rekomendasi perbaikan sistem informasi akuntansi. Kata kunci: sistem informasi akuntansi, siklus pendapatan, kontrol internal, basis data relasional Abstract - This research aims to revitalize the accounting information system on a sole proprietorship object Susu Sapi Mulia’s revenue cycle. For this research, the data collection was conducted through the following methods: interview, observation, and document analysis. The participants of the interviews were the business owner and the employees. The observation objects were the administration office and the product distribution site. The documents used for analysis in this research were the company’s archives which had contact with revenue earning activities from 2014-2015. This research identified inefficiency and ineffectiveness on the company’s accounting information system in such a way couldn’t produce reliable business information. Those identified flaws served the purpose of designing the improved model of accounting information system. One of the classic issues that are interesting to discuss is polygamy. In this era polygamy is a challenge where the issue of gender equality is getting stronger. Many people argue, either to legalize or reject it. In this context, Siti Mulia tries to give a view which discusses between texts related to polygamy and current social facts. From the description of the background above, the formulation of the problem in this study is as follows: 1) How is the analysis of Siti Musdah Mulia's thoughts on Polygamy Law in the perspective of Islamic Law? The type of research is qualitative research that uses library research methods (Library Research). Data collection techniques by collecting primary data and secondary data. Then the analysis technique with descriptive descriptive method and analysis of the content of the study (Content Analysis). The conclusion of this study is 1] Siti Musdah Mulia argues that polygamy is unlawful because of its excesses (haram lighairih) and based on QS an-Nisa verse 129, that husbands will not be able to treat their wives fairly. Therefore, the opportunity for polygamy is closed due to not meeting the fair requirements.

Abstract:
Apstrakt je obrađen tehnologijama za optičko prepoznavanje teksta (OCR).Mehanizam nastanka mulita zavisi od načina doziranja polaznih oblika reaktanata kao što su alumina i silika. Dobijanje mulita sol-gel postupkom je u velikoj meri poboljšano u odnosu na klasično procesiranje zbog mogućnosti homogenog mešanja AI2O3 i SiO2 komponenti i kontrole dodataka. Sol-gel metod omogućuje pripremu vrlo homogenih i reaktivnih gelova koji mogu da sinteruju na nižim temperaturama pri čemu se može postići vrlo fina mikrostruktura. U ovom radu koji se odnosio na procesiranje mulita sol-gel postupkom, hipoteza je bila da se na samom početku procesiranja aluminijumovi joni iz alkoholnog rastvora Al-soli uključuju u polimernu gel strukturu koju formira silika. Svrha ovog rada, je proučavanje uticaja procesnih promenjivih, dodatka fluornog jona i “seedinga” na temperaturu nastanka sol-gel mulita pri čemu se očekuje što je moguće niža tempertura nastanka mulita (niža od 9800C). Polimerni sol je dobijen u prvom slučaju mešanjem TEOS-a i aluminijum nitrata nanohidrata koji je prethodno rastvoren u etil alkoholu. U drugom slučaju, u polimerni sol je dodavan fluorni jon u koncentraciji 2 do 5 % mas. u odnosu na očekivani prinos mulita i u trećem slučaju je dodavana različita količina mulitnih klica (2-4 % mas.). Eksperimantalno je potvrđeno da procesne promenljive; pH, temperatura geliranja i R odnos imaju, veliki uticaj na brzinu geliranja i na nastanak mulita. U slučaju dodavanja fluornog jona, potvrdena je hipoteza da fluorni jona na različite načine utiče na mehanizam nastanka mulita, pri čemu u prvom slučaju prisustvo fluornog jona obezbeduje mesta u oblastima razdvajanja granica faza nakon geliranja koja utiču na proces nukleacije. Ova mesta slično procesu kristalizacije stakla, omogućuju lakšu nukleaciju mulita prilikom njegove transformacije iz gela. Mesta na granici razdvanja faza postaju mesta na kojima se uspostavlja proces heterogene nukleacije što je jedan od mogućih načina za snižavanje temperature nastanka mulita. Pored ovoga, dodavanje fluornog jona je doprinelo promeni mulitnih gel struktura, pri čemu je promena brzine hidrolize silike imala za posledicu promenu sadržaja vezane vode u toku geliranja što se takođe značajno odražavalo na temperaturu nastanka mulita. Eksperimentalni rezultati termički obradenih gelova su pokazali, da dodavanje lluornog jona u polimerni mulitni sol stvara uslove za snižavanje temperature obrazovanja mulita sve do 8900C. U ovom radu je takođe pokazano da mulitne čestice, kao nukleanti pri “seeding" procesiranju, doprinose nastanku mulitnog gela koji nakon termičke obrade na 10000C pokazuje veoma finu mikrostrukturu.
Abstract was processed by technology for Optical character recognition (OCR).The mechanism of mullite formation depends upon the method of combining the alumina and silica containing reactants. Mullite can be obtained through the sol-gel process and can be greatly improved by the control of some reaction conditions particulaiiy by homogeneous mixing of Al2O3 and SiO2, and controlling of the additions. Sol-gel method allow preparation of very homogenous and reactive gels which can be sintering at low temperature and consequently submicronic microstructure can be reached. In this study of the mullite formation by sol-gel method, the hypothesis was that aluminium ions from alcoholic solulion of its salts incorporate to polymeric silica gel structure. The aim of this work was the investigation of the effect processing variables, fluorine addition and “seeding”on the temperature of sol-gel mullite formation and to obtain as lower temperature of mullite formation as possible (smaller than 980°C). Polymeric sols, were prepared by the mixing of TEOS and aluminum nitrate nanohydrate dissolved in absolute ethyl alcohol and by adding fluorine ions in the second case from 2 wt.% to 5 wt.% and by different content of mullite seeded (2- 4 wt. %). Experimentally is determined that the processing variables as pH, gelling temperature and R ratio have high influence on the gelling rate and mullite formation. The hypothesis in the case of fluorine addition was that addition of fluorine ions could have different effects on the mechanism of mullite formation; the first it makes the sites at boundary of phase separation regions after gelling which influence at the process of the nucleation. These sites will act as a place for easy mullite nucleation, similar to process of the glass crystallization. The boundaries of the phase separation are the sites for heterogeneous nucleation which is one of the condition for lowering the temperature of mullite formation. Besides, fluorine addition could change the mullite gel structure (by changing the rate of hydrolyses of silica and it could change the content of bonded water during gelling), which should be very important for the temperature of mullite formation, too. The experimental results of heat treated gels showed that the addition of fluorine ion does decrease the temperature of mullite formation (in respect to classical sol-gel mullite processing) up to 8900C. As a nucleant in this study the mullite powder by “seeding” process contribute to muillite gel formation that after heat treatment up to 10000C showed very fine microstructure.

Many of the compounds multilayers are manufactured from advanced ceramic compositions, which seeks higher mechanical performance, the manufacture of these compositions based materials, ceramic structural has been little studied. Aiming to increase the fracture energy in ceramics traditional was investigated in this study the mechanical behavior of a multilayer system formed by stacking mullite and monoporosa. The mullite is an important raw material used in the manufacture of refractory ceramic for structural, because the physical and mechanical properties at high temperatures as high melting point, low expansion, fracture toughness and thermal shock that, high resistance fluency and low dielectric constant. The monoporosa has a high resistance which gives excellent mechanical and chemical properties and is widely used as coating mass on floors and re-investments outer. The increase in fracture energy was determined by comparing the curves of three point bending of the multilayer system with its monolithic references. The fractures were characterized by optical microscopy and MEV for microstructure analysis was carried out X-ray diffraction. Samples developed were evaluated multilayer reference to the materials employed in the formation of each layer in relation to these reference strains were obtained averages to 2.58 times larger and fracture energies of up to 7 times larger.
Muitos dos compostos multicamadas são fabricados a partir de composições de cerâmica avançada, em que se busca elevado desempenho mecânico, a fabricação destes materiais a base de composições de cerâmicas estruturais tem sido muito pouco estudado. Com o objetivo de aumentar a energia de fratura em cerâmicas tradicionais, foi pesquisado nesse trabalho o comportamento mecânico de um sistema multicamadas formado pelo empilhamento de mulita e monoporosa. A mulita é uma importante matéria-prima utilizada na fabricação de refratário para cerâmicas estruturais, devido as propriedades físicas e mecânicas a altas temperaturas como alto ponto de fusão, baixa expansão, resistência a fratura e ao choque térmico, alta resistência a fluência e baixa constante dielétrica. A monoporosa possui uma alta resistência o que confere excelentes propriedades mecânicas e químicas, sendo muito utilizado como massa de revestimento em pavimentos e revestimentos exteriores. O aumento na energia de fratura foi determinado comparando as de curvas de flexão em três pontos do sistema multicamadas com as de suas referências monolíticas. As fraturas foram caracterizadas por microscopia óptica e MEV, para análise da microestrutura realizou-se difração de raios X. As amostras multicamadas desenvolvidas foram avaliadas tomando como referência os materiais empregados na constituição de cada camada, em relação a estas referencias foram conseguidas deformações médias de até 2,58 vezes maiores e energias de fratura de até 7 vezes maiores.

In this work we investigated the vibrational properties of ceramics Bi2Mn4O10 (BMO) at room temperature by the Raman and Infrared spectroscopies, the phonons were classified by FG matrix method of Wilson. The dielectric properties of the material, in turn, were studied using the impedance spectroscopy in a range of 22 ° C to 275 ° C. Furthermore, static atomistic simulations were performed at BMO in the range 0.0 to 10 GPa with a step of 0.5 GPa. Concerning the Raman modes, ten out forty eight modes predicted by the group theory, were observed in our experimental spectrum while the spectrum of the imaginary part of inverse dielectric constant, we observe 19 LO modes active in infrared. By using the method of FG Wilson saw that the modes in the range of 600-760 cm-1 are stretching into the ab plane to the octahedral chains MnO6. Libration and bending modes were predicted to 400-570 cm-1 and 300-400 cm-1, respectively. It was further observed that the low-frequency modes are mainly due to translations of the Bi ions. The analysis of the impedance spectroscopy measurements led to the conclusion that the relaxing process of BMO are associated with conductive mechanisms, these being due to movement of polarons. The frequencies, for which the imaginary parts of the module (M '' ) and impedance ( Z '' ) exhibit a maximum, obeyed the Arrhenius law in its dependence on the reciprocal temperature, and the calculated activation energies were 0.57 eV and 0.63 eV for each case, respectively. The frequency dependent peaks that appeared in the Bode plot of the real part of dielectric constant were attributed to thermal relaxation processes associated with activated jumps of polarons. The simulations showed that the compound is quite stable, showing no structural phase transition in the pressure range investigated
Neste trabalho foram investigadas as propriedades vibracionais da cerâmica Bi2Mn4O10 (BMO) à temperatura ambiente através das espectroscopias Raman e no Infravermelho. Os fônons foram classificados através do método FG de Wilson. As propriedades dielétricas do material, por sua vez, foram estudadas com o uso da espectroscopia de Impedância num intervalo de 22°C a 275°C. Além disso, simulações atomísticas estáticas foram feitas no BMO no intervalo de 0 a 10 GPa com passo de 0,5 GPa. No que concerne aos modos Raman, dos 48 previstos pela teoria de grupos, apenas dez deles foram observados em nosso espectro experimental enquanto que no espectro da parte imaginária do inverso da constante dielétrica, observamos 19 modos LO ativos no infravermelho. Através do uso do método FG de Wilson vimos que os modos no intervalo de 600-760 cm-1 são estiramento no plano ab para as cadeias octaédricas MnO6. Modos dobramento angular e de libração foram previstos para 400-570 cm-1 e 300-400 cm-1, respectivamente. Constatou-se ainda que os modos de baixa freqüência devem-se principalmente às translações dos íons Bi. As análises das medidas de espectroscopia de Impedância levaram a conclusão de que os processos relaxativos do BMO são associados a mecanismos condutivos, sendo esses devido a movimentos de polarons. As freqüências, para as quais as partes imaginárias do módulo ( M '' ) e da impedância ( Z '' ) exibiram máximos, obedeceram a uma lei tipo Arrhenius em sua dependência com o recíproco da temperatura, sendo que as energias de ativação calculadas foram de 0,57 eV e 0,63 eV para cada caso, respectivamente. Os picos dependentes da freqüência que apareceram no gráfico de Bode da parte real da constante dielétrica foram atribuídos a processos relaxativos termicamente ativados associados a saltos de polarons. As simulações realizadas mostraram que o composto é bastante estável não apresentando transição de fase estrutural no intervalo de pressão investigado.

Filmes de carbeto de silício, SiC, cristalinos foram depositados sobre peças de mulita por meio da técnica de deposição química por vapor (CVD) a pressão atmosférica. As características da superfície do substrato determinam se o filme será denso ou poroso, enquanto a temperatura define a cristalinidade e a taxa de nucleação para formação do filme. Durante os procedimentos de preparação do substrato de mulita para a deposição do filme, observou-se o fenômeno da formação de whiskers de mulita quando adicionados 3%mol de terras raras a peça. O fenômeno de crescimento destes whiskers foi sistematicamente estudado para sua caracterização e compreensão do mecanismo de formação. A adição de terras raras promoveu um abaixamento na temperatura de mulitização e a formação de whiskers com uma composição cuja razão alumina / sílica é de 1,3, uma das mais baixas observadas.
Crystalline silicon carbide, SiC, films were deposited on mullite by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. The characteristic of substrate surface determinate if the film will be dense or porous, while the deposition temperature defines its crystalinity and nucleation rate in film formation. During the mullite substrate preparation process for film deposition, it was observed a whisker formation phenomenon when the piece was doped with 3%mol of rare earth. The growth phenomenon of these whiskers was studied systematically to its characterization and comprehension of its formation mechanism. The addiction of rare earth promote a reduction in mullitization temperature and the formation of whiskers with a composition that alumina / silica ration was 1.3, one of the lowest one ever observed.

Este trabalho relata um estudo sobre a síntese e a caracterização de mulita nanoestruturada a partir do processo sol-gel associado a um sistema de cristal líquido, avaliando-se a influência de um processo sobre o outro. Os sistemas de síntese foram preparados usando-se como reagentes precursores da mulita, o tetraetilortosilicato (TEOS) e o nitrato de alumínio nonahidratado (ANN) e, como formadores do cristal líquido, o surfatante Renex com diferentes tamanhos de cadeia hidrofílica (R100, R60 e R40) e uma solução aquosa de ácido nítrico, nas seguintes razões molares: 1,0 TEOS : 3,0 ANN : x Renex : 1,0 HNO3(aq), onde x é igual a 1,3 para R100, 1,6 para R60 e 2,2 para R40. As técnicas utilizadas para caracterização tanto do cristal líquido quanto da mulita foram: DRX, GIXRD, SAXS, MOLP, TGA/DTG, DTA e AFM. Os resultados de SAXS e DRX indicaram que os sistemas binários compostos por R100/HNO3(aq) formaram mesofases hexagonais, enquanto os sistemas contendo R40 e R60 formaram mesofases lamelares. A adição de TEOS e ANN interferiu negativamente na microestrutura destes cristais líquidos, devido a dois fatores: i) uma possível deficiência na retirada do etanol formado durante a hidrólise do TEOS e ii) a temperatura de secagem, mantida por estufa a 30 C. Estes dois fatores conjuntamente podem ter desestabilizado o sistema cristal líquido. Com relação à influência do cristal líquido no processo sol-gel, verificou-se por DRX a formação de mulita apenas para o sistema que continha R100, o que pode indicar que a estrutura lamelar dificultou a difusão dos íons Al3+ através do sistema, enquanto a estrutura hexagonal permitiu a formação de um gel mais homogêneo, com a formação de ligações Si-O-Al.

Among the ceramic materials, one can highlight the mullite, whose characteristics are of great industrial interest. This material consists of silica and alumina has high mechanical strength, high refractory and chemical inertness, and low coefficients of expansion and thermal conductivity, which makes this material synthesis from Al2O3 e SiO2 mixtures or from material showing Al2O3 - SiO2 even more technology important in traditional and advanced ceramic fields. Nevertheless the synthesis of mullite is hampered by the reaction kinetics is very slow, taking long time and large amount of energy during sintering. It takes temperatures above 1500°C to form mullite oxides via. Techniques that facilitate this process has been developed, but they have disadvantages such as high cost of reagents. This work had as objective produce mullite using the high energy milling. It was used as starting materials aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, quartzite and kaolin. It was prepared two mixtures of oxides, which are: aluminum hydroxide with quartzite and quartzite with aluminum oxide. These two mixed oxides plus kaolin were subjected to high energy milling for different times and then the milled and unmilled powders were sintered at different temperatures. The characterization was made by ray-X diffraction and by scanning electronic microscopy and thermal analysis. The results showed that the mechanical activation of powders allowed the formation of mullite phase in a lower temperature and formation of anisotropic mullite grains.
Dentre os materiais cerâmicos, pode-se destacar a mulita, cujas características são de grande interesse industrial. Este material formado por sílica e alumina apresenta elevada resistência mecânica, alta refratariedade e inércia química, além de baixos coeficientes de expansão e condutividade térmica, o que torna a síntese desse material a partir de misturas de Al2O3 e SiO2 ou a partir de materiais que apresentem Al2O3 e SiO2 cada vez mais importantes tecnologicamente nas áreas de cerâmica tradicional e avançada. Entretanto, a síntese da mulita é dificultada pela cinética da reação que é muito lenta, levando longos tempos e grande gasto energético durante a sinterização. São necessárias temperaturas acima de 1500ºC para se formar mulita via óxidos. Técnicas que facilitam este processo têm sido desenvolvidas, mas possuem desvantagens como alto custo de reagentes. Este trabalho teve como objetivo a obtenção de mulita utilizando a moagem de alta energia. Foram utilizadas como matériasprimas hidróxido de alumínio, óxido de alumínio, quartzito e caulim. Foram preparadas duas misturas de óxidos, sendo elas: hidróxido de alumínio com quartzito e óxido de alumínio com quartzito. Essas duas misturas e o caulim foram submetidos à moagem de alta energia por diferentes tempos e em seguida os pós moídos e não moídos foram conformados e então sinterizados em diferentes temperaturas. A caracterização das amostras foi feita por difratometria de raios X, análise térmica diferencial, análise termogravimétrica e microscopia eletrônica de varredura. Os resultados mostraram que a ativação mecânica dos pós possibilitou a formação da fase mulita numa temperatura mais baixa que as amostras não ativadas e formação de grãos anisotrópicos de muita.

A mulita é a única fase cristalina formada no sistema SiO2-Al2O3, sendo um material refratário, com elevado ponto de fusão, excelente resistência ao choque térmico, resistividade elétrica e baixa condutividade térmica. Pode ser usada tanto em aplicações tradicionais quanto avançadas. Para a sua obtenção são necessárias elevadas temperaturas e longos tempos de sinterização, devido a necessidade de alta energia de ativação para ocorrer a difusão dos íons na rede da mulita. Para otimizar o processo, pode ser usado precursores em pó com tamanho de grãos submicrométricos ou usar aditivos de sinterização. Neste estudo foi usado como aditivo o MgO, para obter a mulita por sinterização reativa, a partir da mistura de Al(OH)3 e SiO2 coloidal, e da mistura de Al2O3 e SiO2 coloidal. Para verificar o seu efeito na mulitização e sinterização da mulita nessas composições, foram adicionadas 0,8; 1,6; 2,4; 3,1 e 3,9 % em peso de MgO. As composições foram sinterizadas à 1350, 1450 e 1550 ºC por 4 horas. Inicialmente as composições foram analisadas por dilatometria e análise térmica diferencial e termogravimétrica. E após sinterização foram analisadas por difração de raios X, fluorescência de raios X, medidas de densidade e porosidade aparentes, microscopia eletrônica de varredura, resistência à flexão em três pontos e espectroscopia de impedância. Pelos resultados obtidos, observou-se que a adição de MgO reduziu a temperatura de mulitização e a temperatura de sinterização das composições estudadas, de 1400 ºC para em torno de 1350 ºC. Além disso, observou-se que, quanto maior o teor de MgO e a temperatura de sinterização, maiores e mais anisotrópicos são os grãos de mulita formados e maior é a sua resistência a flexão. Sendo que a composição M5 sinterizada à 1550 ºC obteve o maior valor de resistência de 28 MPa. Houve uma redução drástica da porosidade à 1450 e 1550 ºC, ao contrário do que ocorreu à 1350 ºC, podendo ser observado nas imagens de MEV e pelos valores de porosidade aparente. Sendo que a composição M5 sinterizada à 1550 ºC obteve o menor valor de porosidade de 2 %, sendo que a composição M0 sinterizada na mesma temperatura obteve 13,1 %. As composições derivadas da mistura com alumina, obtiveram microestruturas mais densas, com menor porosidade e maior resistência à flexão. A composição MA1 sinterizada à 1450 ºC, obteve o maior valor de resistência no valor de 65,2 MPa, devido ao aparecimento da fase vítrea, que reforçou a sua microestrutura. Com o aumento da quantidade de MgO, houve a formação da fase espinélio, juntamente com a mulita, restando ainda α-alumina residual em algumas composições. No ensaio de espectroscopia de impedância, obteve-se apenas um semicírculo na representação de Nyquist, associado a contribuição apenas do interior do grão, com uma capacitância em torno de 10-11-10- 12 F. Notou-se que a condutividade elétrica do material é dependente da temperatura de ensaio, que quanto maior a temperatura maior a condutividade. Além do que, o aparecimento de fases como, espinélio, alumina e fase vítrea favoreceram a resistividade elétrica do material, consideravelmente.
The mullite is the only crystalline phase formed in the SiO2-Al2O3 system, being a refractory material with high melting point, excelente resistance to termal shock, electrical resistivity and low termal conductivity. It can be used traditional and advanced applications. High temperatures and long sintering times are required due to the high activation energy required to diffuse the ions in the mullite network. To optimize the process, power precursors with submicron grain size or using sintering additives. In this study, MgO was used to obtain the reactive sintering mullite from the mixture of Al(OH)3 and coloidal SiO2, and the mixture of Al2O3 and coloidal SiO2. To verify its effect on mulitization and sintering of mullite in these compositions, 0,8; 1,6; 2,4; 3,1 and 3,9 wt% MgO were added. The compositions were sintered at 1350, 1450 and 1550 ºC for 4 hours. Initially the compostions were analyzed by dilatometry and differential termal and thermogravimetric analysis. After sintering, they were analyzed by X ray diffraction, X ray fluorescence, apparent density and porosity measurements, scanning eléctron microscopy, three-point flexural strength and impedance spectroscopy. From the obtained results, it was observed that the addition of MgO reduced the mulitization temperature and the sintering temperature of the compositions studied, from 1400 ° C to around 1350 ° C. In addition, it has been observed that the higher the MgO contente and the sintering temperature, the larger and more anisotropic the mullite grains are formed and the greater their flexural strength. The composition M5 sintered at 1550 ºC obtained the highest resistance value of 28 MPa. There was a drastic reduction of porosity at 1450 and 1550 ºC, contrary to what happened at 1350 ºC, which can be observed in the SEM images and the values of apparent porosity. In which the composition M5 sintered at 1550 ºC obtained the lowest porosity value of 2%, and the composition M0 sintered at the same temperature obtained 13,1%. The composition MA1 sintered at 1450 ºC, obtained the highest value of resistance in the value of 65,2 MPa, due to the appearance of the glassy phase, which reinforced its microstructure. With the increase of the amount of MgO, there was formation of the spinel phase, together with the mullite, remaining residual α-alumina in some compositions. In the impedance spectroscopy test, only a semicircle was obtained in the Nyquist representation, associated with the contribution of only the interior of the grain, with a capacitance around 10-11-10-12 F. It was noted that the electrical conductivity of the material is dependent on the test temperature, that the higher the temperature the higher the conductivity. In addition, the appearance of phases such as spinel, alumina and vitreous phase favored the electrical resistivity of the material, considerably.

A mulita 3Al2O3∙2SiO2 é uma das fases cristalinas mais extensivamente estudadas do sistema binário Al2O3 - SiO2, sendo promissora em cerâmica devido suas ótimas propriedades químicas, mecânicas e elétricas. O caulim é a fonte principal para sintetizar mulita e o resíduo de caulim, obtido a partir de uma segunda etapa do beneficiamento de caulins primários, pode apresentar teores de SiO2 e Al2O3 que permitem a sua incorporação em massas cerâmicas para a produção da mulita. Como a temperatura de reação da mulita é elevada aumentando assim seus custos, o uso da energia de microondas no processamento e obtenção de materiais, tem despertado interesse especial por parte de diversas áreas do conhecimento como a engenharia de materiais. Este interesse estar diretamente ligado ao seu simples uso, além de reduzir o número de etapas em muitas sínteses, melhorar propriedades físicas em cerâmicas tecnológicas e ter como aliado a economia de energia/tempo alcançada no processamento de muitos materiais. Neste trabalho foi feito um estudo sobre a fabricação de corpos cerâmicos de mulita a partir da mistura de resíduo de caulim e alumina, por sinterização convencional e em microondas, para efeito de comparação. Os corpos de prova foram produzidos por prensagem uniaxial na pressão de 35 MPa e sinterizados em potências de 80% (1,44 kW) e 90% (1,62 kW) com tempos de 10, 15, 20 e 25 min em forno de microondas de freqüência de 2,45GHz e no forno convencional em temperaturas de 1400 a 1600°C, com taxa de aquecimento de 5°C/min e patamar de queima de 2h. Por fim os corpos de prova foram submetidos à determinação das propriedades físico-mecânicas, caracterização de fases cristalinas por DRX e análise microestrutural por MEV. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que a mulita obtida a partir do forno de microondas apresenta estrutura das agulhas mais alongadas quando comparadas ao do forno convencional. O aumento do tempo de sinterização e da potência utilizada, no caso do forno de microondas, e que o aumento da temperatura, no forno convencional, são fatores essenciais a serem considerados para se alcançar um alto teor de mulitização.
Mullite (3Al2O3∙2SiO2) is one of the crystalline phases most extensively studied from the binary system Al2O3 - SiO2, and promising ceramic due to their excellent chemical, mechanical and electrical properties. Kaolin is the main source to synthesize mullite and kaolin waste, obtained from a second stage of processing of primary kaolin, can has contents of SiO2 and Al2O3 which allows its incorporation in ceramic bodies for the production of mullite. As the temperature of the reaction of mullite is high thus increasing their costs, the use of microwave energy for processing and obtaining materials, has attracted special interest by a number of areas as engineering materials. This interest is directly linked to its simple use, and reduce the number of steps in many synthesis, improved physical properties in ceramic technology and have the combined savings energy / time achieved in the processing of many materials. The fabrication of mullite ceramic bodies from the mixture of residual kaolin and alumina, in conventional oven and microwave, for comparison. The samples were produced by uniaxial pressure of 35 MPa and sintered in powers of 80% (1,44kW) and 90% (1,62kW) with times of 10, 15, 20 and 25 min in the microwave at frequency 2,45GHz, and conventional oven at temperatures from 1400 to 1600°C with heating rate of 5°C/min and 2h. Finally the specimens were submitted to determination of physic-mechanical characterization of crystalline phases by XRD and microstructural analysis by SEM. The results showed that the mullite obtained from the microwave oven has more elongated structure of the needles when compared to the conventional oven. The sintering time and power used in the case of microwave ovens, and that the increase of temperature in a conventional oven, are key factors to consider in achieving a high level of mullitization.
