Abstract:
An optimized version of Mueller-Muller (MM) timing recovery algorithm for equalization-enhanced phase noise mitigation is introduced and compared to standard MM showing gains of 0.15dB. Addtionally, a comparable adaptive post-equalizer is adjusted outperforming both MM designs by up to 0.4dB.

Abstract:
The food spectrum of three fish species from the Mugilidae family in different age groups was studied. The samples were collected in 2019 - 2021 from the river estuaries and the coastal brackish lakes at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The research aims to establish the food spectrum of mullets and thus make a connection between food components. The results show that the predominant groups in the stomachs of the three mullet species are detritus, zoobenthos (Rissoa sp. And Trochammina inflate - 64.28%) and macrophytes (Cladophoraceae family - 53.14%). Several potential toxic species were also f

Abstract:
This study presents an assessment of the ecological state of the Montenegrin coast based on the presence of microplastics in mullet (Mullus barbatus), hake (Merluccius merluccius), mussels (Mitilus galloprovincialis) and in surface sediments. The frequency of microplastic ingestion was 58.6% for mullet, 54% for hake and 53.3% for mussels. The average amount of microplastics in surface sediments from the Montenegrin coast was 410.5 ± 44.7 MPs/kg of dry sediment. Filaments, blue in color, were the most abundant forms of microplastics in fish, mussels and surface sediments, while polypropylene an

Abstract:
The risk assessment for population’s exposures to low doses and low dose-rates of ionizing radiation is still subject to clear uncertainties. The issue has outstanding societal importance in relation to radiologic occupational safety, medical applications of radiation, effects of the natural background radioactivity and the future of nuclear power, due to its particular influence on the public acceptance of this form of energy. This review article analyzes, in a critical, historical and bibliographical manner, the worldwide accepted hypothesis of linearity without a threshold dose (LNT model).

Abstract:
Environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) with a Si bond coat, a yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) top coat, and various intermediate coats were investigated. EBCs were processed by atmospheric pressure plasma spraying. The EBC durability was determined by thermal cycling tests in water vapor at 1300°C and 1400°C, and in air at 1400°C and 1500°C. EBCs with a mullite (3Al2O3·2SiO2)+BSAS (1-xBaO·xSrO·Al2O3·2SiO2) intermediate coat were more durable than EBCs with a mullite intermediate coat, while EBCs with a mullite/BSAS duplex intermediate coat resulted in inferior durability.
