In this paper, rectangular multi-Gaussian Schell-model (MGSM) array beams, which consists N×D beams in rectangular symmetry, are first introduced. The analytical expressions of MGSM array beams propagating through free space and non-Kolmogorov turbulence are derived. The propagation properties, such as normalized average intensity and effective beam sizes of MGSM array beams are investigated and analyzed. It is found that the propagation properties of MGSM array beams depend on the parameters of the MGSM source and turbulence. It can also be seen that the beam size of Gaussian beams translated

We investigate the evolution properties of a partially coherent Laguerre–Gaussian vector vortex (LGVV) beam through inhomogeneous atmospheric turbulence. Analytical formulae for the elements of a cross-spectral density matrix of a partially coherent LGVV beam propagating in turbulence are derived with the help of the extended Huygens–Fresnel principle. Our outcomes demonstrate that the normalized initial profile of a partially coherent beam with concentric dark rings gradually evolves into a Gaussian-like beam profile in turbulence. Transformation of ordinary laser beams of Gaussian type into the ones of Bessel type gives a number of advantages. In particular, it may improve a multi-mode beam energy distribution in the far zone and keep it stable over a long range of propagation distances. A usual method of the Bessel beam formation is based on the use of one or a pair of axicons, at that the latter is used for creating annular beams with small conic angles optimized for long range propagation. The disadvantage of axicons is their fixed geometry not allowing the beam parameter adjustment. An additional Bessel beam improve

On the basis of systematic study on the existing measurement methods of multi-degrees-of-freedom, A real-time monitoring method for five-degrees-of-freedom of the extruder’s moving parts was proposed based on laser beam measurement reference and machine vision. Simultaneously measuring multi-degrees-of-freedom is implemented by two-collimated laser beam and three-point measurement in this method, laser dispersion technology is used for several measuring points using the same basis simultaneously, the baseline errors are initial adjusted and real-time monitored, the method of machine vision is

Multi-layer structures are common in electronic package especially for the micro devices manufactured via the semi-conductor processes or MEMS processes. Interfacial crack due to the delamination significantly weakens the multi-layer structure. It is desired to understand the interfacial fracture properties of the electronic packaging materials. In this research, three specimens named Doubled Cantilever Beam (DCB), End-Notched Flexure (ENF), and Four-Point-Bending are proposed to investigate the fracture toughness associated with mode I, mode II and mixed mode. A novel on-line system identification method for shear beam building models, based on a wave propagation approach, is developed as an alternative solution to modal analysis methods for the health assessment of multi-story buildings. A discrete shear beam model is introduced that is used to design an adaptive observer, allowing for the estimation of displacements and velocities, as well as the unknown shear wave velocities and damping coefficients in real-time. The adaptive observer design is based only on acceleration measurements, does not need a coordinate transformation, and uses the normal

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) wireless communication systems offer a promising solution for high-speed data transmission due to their wide bandwidth availability. However, the propagation characteristics of mmWave signals, including high path loss and susceptibility to obstacles, necessitate advanced beamforming techniques to ensure reliable communication. This paper explores the development of adaptive beamforming algorithms designed for dynamic environments to optimize data throughput and system performance. The study reviews existing methodologies, identifies challenges, and proposes innovative

In a four-mirror gyrotron, a wide multi-screw electron beam, being in crossed electric and longitudinal magnetic fields, drifts with a velocity vd = E0 /B0 in the direction of the T-wave propagation between the resonator mirrors (co-current wave) or in the opposite direction (counter-propagating wave). In this case, in accordance with the Doppler effect, the generation frequency ω is determined from the synchronism conditions as ω ≈ kωl(1±βd), βd = vd /с. Thus, a change in E0 changes ω, i. e. electrical frequency tuning is carried out. The article presents a diagram of the design of a two-beam

Numerical modeling with the use of mode theory was used to investigate the regularities of the spatial (depth and horizontal distance) distribution of the acoustic field intensity formed by multiple interaction of a caustic beam with a layered bottom in a shallow oceanic waveguide with an underwater sound channel open to the bottom. It has been established that at the values of the sound velocity at the upper boundary in the sedimentary layer, less than the sound velocity at the bottom in the water layer, the formation of a multi-beam structure of the acoustic field is possible. This paper presents a methodology for assessing co-channel interference that arises in multi-beam transmitting and receiving antennas used in fifth-generation (5G) systems. This evaluation is essential for minimizing spectral resources, which allows for using the same frequency bands in angularly separated antenna beams of a 5G-based station (gNodeB). In the developed methodology, a multi-ellipsoidal propagation model (MPM) provides a mapping of the multipath propagation phenomenon and considers the directivity of antenna beams.
