Objective: To assess the internal construct validity, including local independence, unidimensionality, monotonicity, and invariance, reliability, and targeting of the Forgotten Joint Score within the Rasch Measurement Theory framework. Design: Cross-sectional study. Patients: A total of 111 patients with total hip arthroplasty at least 3 months after surgery. Methods: The Forgotten Joint Score was submitted to each subject during their rehabilitative treatment in an Italian centre and then to Rasch analysis. Results: The base Rasch analysis showed a satisfactory fit to the model with strict un

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate rater effects on the TGMD-2 when it applied to children with intellectual disability. A total of 22 children with intellectual disabilities participated in this study. Children’s performances in each of 12 subtests of the TGMD-2 were recorded via video and scored by three adapted physical activity specialists who have expertise in the TGMD-2. Two advanced measurement theories, Generalizability-theory (G-theory) and many-facet Rasch model (MFRM), were applied in data analyses. There were relatively large variances attributed to rater effects on the s

Abstract:
The substantive component of construct validity requires a confrontation between empirical test results and content relevance. The Vocabulary Size Test (VST) has been extensively validated in terms of empirical results. Less is known, however, about expert judgments of content relevance. The VST was constructed and validated according to the principle that frequency underlies vocabulary acquisition. This does not mean, however, that the two are equivalent. To better understand the construct of word difficulty as it is measured in VSTs, the results of two Rasch analyses, one on the VST, the oth

Abstract:
The digital literacy curriculum in universities, especially Islamic universities, needs to be developed intensively to respond to the rapid exposure of hoax news among students. Therefore, this study aims to develop an e-module for digital learning and to investigate how this product can be implemented in a digital literacy curriculum model at Islamic universities. The Rasch measurement was used to assess fit validity and reliability criteria based on validator assessment and student responses. Many Facet Rasch Measurement was used to confirm validity and reliability from 4 different validator

Learner-centred assessment has been widely propagated in learner-centred approach. However, learners are rarely given the opportunity to engineer their own assessment. Therefore, this study attempted to gauge (1) the functionality of learner-driven oral assessment criteria scaling structure and (2) the reliability of learner-assessors in applying their own assessment criteria during oral presentation. In this study, 11 participants from an electrical engineering group, which consists of one year programme matriculation students, participated in assessment criteria development. First, participa
