Full textintentional, emotional, and cognitive readiness for change and perceived faculty trust in colleagues, in principal, and in clients (students and parents). The study was designed as a correlational study and the participants comprised of 603 teachers working at primary and secondary level public schools selected from the four school districts in Ankara via cluster sampling. For the data collection, newly developed Readiness for Change Scale and Turkish adaptation of Omnibus T-Scale were utilized. Both descriptive and inferential statistics techniques (Canonical Correlation) were used for the data analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis for Readiness for Change Scale and Omnibus T-Scale were also performed within the scope of this study. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were performed by the software PASW Statistics 18 while the confirmatory factor analysis was performed by the software AMOS 4. The results of the study revealed that teachers&rsquo
readiness for change and perceived organizational trust were significantly correlated with each other in a way that intentional, emotional, and cognitive readiness for change were all associated with teachers&rsquo
readiness for change and contributed significantly in perceived organizational trust. Conversely, the results indicated that perceived faculty trust in colleagues, in principal, and in clients (students and parents) are all correlated with perceived organizational trust, and contributed significantly in teachers&rsquo
readiness for change. Consequently, the results of this study revealed that organizational trust is an essential internal context variable, which is correlated with teachers&rsquo
readiness for change. In this respect, the decision-making body of educational organizations, MONE, and schools should undertake necessary precautions to empower trust-based relationship within the teacher, principal and client (students and parents) triangulation for effective implementation and desired outcomes of the change interventions.

Full textThis thesis examines the financialization of the accumulation regime in South Korea since the 1997 Asian crisis based on three inter-related transformations: macroeconomic and institutional changes under the neoliberal restructuring; the growing integration of firms into financial and trade markets; the restructuring of the role of the state under the drive to promote technology-intensive sectors. Building upon regulation theory and post-Keynesian economics, the analysis considers several levels—macroeconomic, institutional and political, and different scales—local, national, transnational. The thesis discusses the determining drivers and the conduits of the financialization of the South Korean political economy and the local characteristics of this global process, conceptualized as intrinsically uneven and hierarchical • Chapter 1 From industrialization to financialization analyzes the joint transformation of the macroeconomic trend, institutional change, and political change since industrialization. Based on the estimation of the demand regime(s) from 1980 to 2015, it is highlighted that the finance-dominated accumulation regime that has emerged after the 1997 Asian crisis is consumption driven and profit led. • Chapter 2 Financialization along value chains investigates the slowdown of accumulation of South Korean manufacturing firms by assessing the impact of three channels, the crowding out of fixed investment by financial investment, the financial burden of increasing payments to financial markets, and the modes of insertion to global value chains (GVCs). A dynamic panel model of an investment function is estimated on firm-level data (1990–2015). The results show that the impact of financialization channels depends on the modalities of firms’ insertion into GVCs. • Chapter 3 The uneven impact of financialization on state capacities examines the institutional and organizational transformations of the state associated with the financialization process. Based on semi-structured interviews in the start-up ecosystem, the layering mechanism of gradual institutional change within the state innovation bureaucracy is identified. The results outline a complex picture of the financialization of the state with the combination of the uneven diffusion of financialized reasoning in the innovation bureaucracy via entrepreneurship policies and the localized power shift from bureaucrats to private financiers

Full textCrossed-effects between climate change and chemical pollutions were identified on community structure and ecosystem functioning. Temperature rising affect the toxic properties of pollutants and the sensitiveness of organisms to chemicals stress. Inversely, chemical exposure may decrease the thermal tolerance of ectothermic species, as fish. In this context, we studied the response of a biological model in aquatic toxicology, the goldfish (Carassius auratus), to individual and combined chemical and thermal stresses. In this aim, we exposed the goldfish to environmental relevant concentrations of herbicide and fungicide mixtures at two temperatures for 96 hours or 16 days. The fish responses were assessed from the molecular level to individual endpoints, including omic approaches (proteomic and metabolomic), biochemical analyses (cortisol, antioxidant defenses, cellular energy allocation), indexes (somatic and condition factors) and behavioral assays (sediment reworking, activity, exploration and feeding). Our results showed that individual chemical or thermal stresses induced a general stress response including biochemical, metabolic, physiological and behavioral compensations. The absence of deleterious effect on the global condition of fish suggested the implementation of an efficient and adaptive stress response, while the hypoactivity of fish exposed to pesticide mixtures could entrain a decreased performance and fitness into the wild. At the opposite, the combined chemical and thermal stresses induced reciprocal inactivation of the stress response, with antagonism effect on cortisol secretion, antioxidant defense induction and metabolic compensation. However, increased effect on behavioral traits and decreased global condition of fish were observed. Our study showed that temperature rising sensitized fish to pesticide exposure. Finally, inhibited stress response in fish exposed to pesticide cocktails raises concerns about species conservation an ecosystem under multiple pressures

Full textSince 2006, the European Union’s external energy policy has been strengthening significantly. This ambitious EU policy is aimed at ensuring the security of energy supply in the EU and to contribute to more sustainable use of energy around the world. If political dialogue and economic aid are essential, the EU resorts principally to the law in order to liberalise energy markets of the third States in its periphery and to spread its vision of sustainable energy on the international stage. For which reasons does the EU use primarily the law in this policy? Is this instrument efficient? It is these two majors questions that this study addresses

Demand for non-volatile memory (NVM) has been increasing in the market. As the memory density continues to increase, scaling MOSFET transistor is a challenging task due to physical limitations. Phase change memory (PCM) has shown great potential among emerging non-volatile memory technologies due to its advantages of fast read-write ability, high scalability, good reliability and low power operation. In this paper, we develop a new compact memory model based on physical theory including temperature and crystalline calculation. We evaluate multi-level cell operation of phase change memory by using different programming techniques including proposed monotonically increasing and decreasing pulse, constant pulse and slow quenching schemes. We also compare the power consumption of the different logic level by using difference programming techniques. Our simulation results suggest that the proposed MLC schemes not only have an advantage in density but also consume less power during programming. Among the demonstrated programming techniques, our simulation results show that the increasing pulse technique is more power efficient than the other approaches.

Recording density of the erasable phase change optical disk is restricted to the optical diffraction limit. Multi-level recording has an advantage of increasing the recording density. A new multi-level phase change disk is composed of multi recording layers, which are in the same depth of focus of laser beam. By modulating the intensity of the laser pulse, marks can be chosen to be recorded in any of the recording layers, forming multi recording regions corresponding to different reflectance levels. Similarly, utilizing the modulation of laser power can directly overwrite the previous recording region to another one. For the four-level recording disk, four recording regions corresponding to four distinct reflectances can be produced. If each recording region represents two-bit, the effective mark length for one bit becomes only half of the actual mark length. Then, the recording density can be increased by the factor of two. In the thesis, the overwriting conditions have been demonstrated for three-level and four-level disk. At the laser wavelength of 660 nm and NA of 0.6, the resolvable smallest effect recording region which can be overwritten is 0.4μm. Meanwhile, the relation between the multi-level recording mechanism and multi-level readout signal has been analyzed. Due to the temperature difference of recording layers, mark can be chosen to form in any of recording layers to form multi recording regions. But the temperature difference of recording layers causes different mark sizes, which result in the distortion of readout signal. The improved mechanism is to adopt different recording material as recording layers. By utilizing the recording materials of different melting point of recording layers, the mark size in different recording layers can be controlled to enhance the signal quality. The CNR of the three-level disk with two recording layers of different composition ─AgInSbTe and GeSbTe is better than that of the three-level disk with two recording layers of the same composition material─GeSbTe.

Recording density of the erasable phase change optical disk is determined by the recorded mark size. When the mark size is smaller than the focus laser spot size which is limited by the optical diffraction limit, the readout signal is decreased simultaneously. Therefore, the smallest recorded mark size is limited by the optical diffraction limit which is about 0.6(λ/NA), where λ and NA are the laser wavelength and the numerical aperture of the objective lens, respectively. In this thesis, ”Multi-level recording method” was proposed to increase recording density of optical disks without decreasing the recorded mark size. A new erasable multi-level recording phase change disk is composed of multi recording layers which are in the same depth of focus of laser beam. By modulating the intensity of the laser pulse, marks can be chosen to record in any of recording layers to form multi recording regions. Utilizing the property of the phase change media whose amorphous and crystalline states differ largely in refractive indices, each recording region corresponds to different reflectance. For the four-level recording disk, four recording regions corresponding to four distinct reflectances can be produced, and each recording region represents two-bit data. Thus the effective mark length for one bit becomes only one-half the actual mark length. As a result, the recording density can be increased without altering the current optic configuration of readout system. The multi-level readout signals of optical and thermal designed multi-level disks were examined experimentally. At the laser wavelength of 660nm and NA of 0.6, when the recorded effective mark size for one bit was about 0.3μm, the CNR(Carrier to Noise Ratio)of the four-level disk was above 36dB, much higher than that of the conventional disk of less than 25dB. Therefore, the resolvable smallest effective mark size was decreased, consequently disk capacity is greatly increased.
