This study was designed to compare the behavioral pain responses of 2-month-old Canadian-born Chinese babies receiving a routine immunization to those of Caucasian infants in similar situations. Two groups of 26 infants were obtained through convenience from a pediatric clinic held by a Chinese pediatrician at the Chinese Hospital and a suburban pediatric practice of a large Canadian city. The ability to control one’s own personally identifiable information is a worthwhile human right that is becoming increasingly vulnerable. Public health practice – which is charged with the protection, promotion and mitigation of the health of society and its individuals – has been at odds with the right to privacy. Consequently, the service is multidimensional and the outcomes are hard to define. This means this service operates at a level of complexity that is different from other health care services. This presents a challenge for evaluation since the activities differ across individuals and change over time, depending on their needs.

The first goal for the study was to estimate trait effects and social influences for racial centrality, racial private regard, and racial public regard. The second was to estimate correlational relationships between racial identity, depression, and anxiety symptoms. The study used 110 Black university students (Mage=19.5,SD=4.13) from a southeastern American university. Restricted maximum likelihood estimation was conducted to estimate variance components for all constructs. Racial centrality, racial private regard, and racial public regard consisted of mostly trait effects, although reflectin

Abstract:
This study examined the construct validity of the RiTE as a multidimensional measure of spirituality in relation to the five-factor model of personality in a sample of 325 college students. Results of correlational and regression analyses provided support for the notion that the dimensions of ritualistic, theistic, and existential spirituality tapped by the RiTE, are empirically distinguishable. Overall, our findings provide further evidence for the construct validity of the RiTE and for the potential value of measuring spirituality as a multidimensional phenomenon in the study of religious pr
