The basic method is applied to the study of the typology of personal values. A basis is a complete, ordered, measurable set of elements. In our case, the elements are personality types. Completeness is determined by a factorial dichotomous typological set. Orderliness is determined by a single dichotomous multi-dimensional basic word structure of a set of types (a single dichotomous multi-dimensional-typological basis or «word basis»). The measurability of types is associated with a single dichotomous numerical multidimensional basic evaluation symmetric scale or with a «numerical basis». Comp

AbstractThe aim to discern variation in religion and spirituality has been central to the Study of Religions, and in particular, it has fueled the discussion on typologies. In this chapter, we analyze five distinct worldview profiles (prototypes) that we extracted from our study in 12 countries with the Faith Q-Sort (FQS). The FQS enables us to investigate in detail how certain ideas, practices, attitudes etc. vary in relevance between prototypes, and reveals patterns of importance for the discussion on typology. It provides a meaningful methodological tool for assessing and comprehending worldviews and how these are configured. Our findings show that our five prototypes, on the one hand, are distinguished by certain characteristics and that they, on the other hand, also are multidimensional and emerge as variations of how several elements are combined and emphasized.

Abstract:
In this study, a typology of workplace personal Web usage (PWU) behaviors was developed using multidimensional scaling techniques. Results suggest that personal Web usage behaviors vary along two dimensions: opportunities versus threats and organizational versus interpersonal. On the foundation of these two dimensions, PWU behaviors appear to fall into four distinct categories: disruptive, recreational, personal learning, and ambiguous PWU. This typology should prove useful for developing conceptual and empirical research agendas of PWU behavior in the workplace.

Abstract:
This chapter discusses the analytical approaches to developing a new typology and to ensuing a sociological theory of corruption. Typologies are a form of classification, but they are generally conceptual, multidimensional, and more abstract than simple categorical schemes. They are heuristic devices to support our understanding of complex social life by capturing some essential dimensions of the studied phenomenon. The chapter presents two dimensions, the form of transfer and the primary beneficiary of the corrupt act, as guiding principles to synthesize the major themes of this book's research into a new typology of corruption. The final model includes four distinct types of corruption and the main sociological and organizational factors that describe these types. These four distinct types are market corruption, social bribe, corrupt organization, and state capture.

Abstract:
This chapter explains that typology replaces monodirectional movement toward the end of time's line with intermediate moments of fulfillment and escapes the whirring circular motion of the wheel of the heavens. Interpolators exploited the episodic structure of Wace's history to render undeveloped typological models of passing time visible to their audiences. Three thirteenth-century revisers of the Roman de Brut used interpolation to expose the figural recurrence that subtends Wace's supposedly linear progression of the British past. Moreover, typologically interpolated histories take advantage of historical repetition to posit that reinterpretation is always possible. The chapter mentions the notion that every time is available in a multidimensional present.

Abstract:
This chapter explores systemic challenges surrounding a highly disruptive type of organizational change—the implementation of advanced manufacturing technology (AMT). To unpack the intricate, multi-layered systems surroundings AMT implementation, the author applies an inductive method that relies on multiple paradigm lenses to highlight varied elements and contrasting understandings of the change process. Using Burrell & Morgan’s (1979) typology, she constructs four accounts of AMT implementation. These accounts share a theme of paradox, yet each also accentuate different tensions and vicious cycles. To accommodate disparate paradigm insights, the proposed metaframework offers a more holistic, systemic view, depicting change as a multidimensional cycle swirling around cognitive, action and institutional paradoxes. The concluding discussion addresses implications of the metaframework for managing change paradoxes and future research.

Abstract:
The typology classifies poverty (P) measurement methods (PMM) into normative (N), semi-normative (SN) and non-normative (NN), as well as direct/indirect and one-dimensional/multidimensional. Combined PMM use both direct and indirect indicators. Direct PMM are based on reported household (HH)/individual living conditions. Indirect PMM identify if HH resources are enough to meet needs (N). My typology is compared with Ringen’s and with PMM described by Gordon et al. Five groups of PMM were consolidated: non-normative, indirect one-dimensional, indirect bi-dimensional, direct, and combined. The chapter describes/criticises non-normative methods which are all indirect one-dimensional and don’t base their P line (PL) on N. I don’t consider them as proper PMM, as P is a normative concept. The chapter describes/assesses indirect and direct, N/SN PMM included individually. As all are partial, the critique of not considering all well-being sources (WBS) is applicable to all of them. Five are PL-PMM, but they differ on how they define PL. Two are food-P-only PMM, one is an overall income PMM, one is subjective PL, and the last, objective PL. Three bi-dimensional income–time PMM are included. They assume time as a WBS. All directPMM are normative-multidimensional. Two are Latin American: the original variant (OV) and the improved (IV) of unsatisfied basic needs (UBN). Both deprivation index variants are British. Enforced Lack of Socially Perceived Necessities (ELSPN), based on a survey of perceptions, presents a step forward but has problems. The Acute Poverty Index (UNDP) is ultra-minimalist; its thresholds do not respect the dignity principle. The Individual Deprivation Measure (IDM) replaces usual HH measures with an individual one; it is based on participatory research. Revealed/objective UBN thresholds PMM identifies UBN profiles of the income-poor/non-poor and classifies a HH as poor/non-poor according to how close their UBN-profile is to those profiles.

Abstract:
Moroccan land and real estate are characterized by a large number of properties and an advanced and varied typology. Among the related shortcomings is how to identify various land statuses and the stakeholders in the sector. These characteristics of land are multidimensional, including urban, suburban, and rural; land use plan; lands under formal and informal registration systems and multiple regulatory frameworks; the importance for the state, the public, and private individuals; regarding its heritage, urban planning, and taxation; the development projects in each sector; etc. The complex character and distinct fields of land administration in Morocco necessitates the creation of a unified and standardized land data model for use by all public and private actors who have a relationship to land. The present study contributes to the perception of an applied taxonomy and aims to define the basic concepts of the land domain ontology. Such expertise is a prerequisite for land governance and land policy that integrate land and real estate into national development processes.

Full text
Abstract:
This chapter examines Nancy Fraser’s influential writing which, in contrast to the tokenistic approaches of her peers, has been instrumental in moving gender concerns to the heart of critical theory of oppression. In so doing, she has formulated an innovative multidimensional typology of power which, unlike mono-categorial paradigms, is capable of explaining intersectional dynamics of oppression. Likewise, her model of justice as participatory parity rests on a pluralized, ‘neopragmatist’ account of normative reasoning that finds emancipatory responses embedded in concrete situations and hence resonates with the work of other feminist theorists on gender inequality in a global context. However, as ground-breaking as it has been in foregrounding issues of gender oppression and developing a non-monist approach to critique, Fraser’s work is arguably limited by her residual attachment to a certain aspect of paradigm-led theorizing. This is evident in the way she downgrades the value of an experiential perspective for critique and consequently fails to fully think through certain epistemological implications of reasoning dialogically with disempowered interlocutors. Instead, working largely within the normative space of justification, Fraser tends to accord definitive adjudicative authority to the theoretical perspective, qua critique, over the experiential one. This epistemic hierarchy is inconsistent with her claims that critique embodies dialogical and reflexive reasoning as well as narrowing the normative function of radical critique to one of adjudication.
