Abstract:
Multilocation audits (MLAs) pose unusual risks for external auditors. Recent lawsuits against auditors manifest these risks. Despite the complexity and risk, there is little existing research and/or professional guidance that address MLA issues. This sparsity is especially surprising given that most companies of medium and large size conduct business activities in multiple locations. The purpose of this paper is to identify risks that exist in a MLA environment that do not necessarily exist in a single-location audit. The MLA risk framework was developed by 1) identifying risk factors specific to MLAs that we believe are important in audit planning, 2) evaluating the risk factors through interviews with MLA experts, 3) examining the policy and procedure manuals of public accounting firms, and 4) relating the risk factors to the audit risk model. The paper is intended to provide a framework for future research related to MLAs.

Abstract:
Purpose – During the last decade the demand to comprehend the overarching success factors of the multilocation process in distant countries such as China has increased significantly. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to explore and understand the nature and scope of the collaboration between the public support services (PSS) in China and the Spanish enterprises which decided to be multilocated there. Design/methodology/approach – The present study examines the necessity of the PSS in China by employing a review of literature as well as both quantitative and qualitative surveys from 31 Spanish companies multilocated in China. Findings – The main conclusions highlight the fact that the PSS do not seem to have a big and homogenous influence on the multilocation process, although those companies with higher levels of commitment that have been operating in China for a longer time have used it more frequently. Originality/value – While other studies of multilocation have isolated the companies from their host environment, the aim of this paper is to evaluate the weak links between the PSS and companies in a culturally and psychically distant market. By providing an insight into the dynamics of how firms interact and collaborate with the PSS, this study contributes to guiding policy makers and managers in designing and implementing strategies to support enterprises in the multilocation process in China.

Abstract:
Apart from being a source of energy, rice is also a source of protein and microelements that are useful for human health, such as B vitamins, iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), anthocyanins, and folic acid. Blast disease caused by the fungus Pyricularia oryzae is an important disease in rice crops worldwide. The aim of the study was to evaluate the resistance of nutritionally specific rice lines to blast disease. The nutritionally specific rice tested were preliminary yield lines and multilocation trials. The pathogens of P. oryzae used were 4 races, namely races 173, 133, 073 and 033. Observations and analysis of resistance to blast disease were carried out based on the IRRI SES method. The results for the preliminary yield trial line showed that the B15068C-MR-1-2-7-KN-2 line showed a resistant response to 4 races of blast pathogen with a disease scale of 1 and as many as 11 special rice lines showed a resistant response or moderately resistant to 4 races, while the multilocation trial lines obtained as many as 3 special rice lines and the variety of Inpari 19 which had a resistant or moderately resistant response to 4 races of P. oryzae. These nutritionally specific rice lines can be used as gene donors for resistance or proposed as varieties that have blast disease resistance. while the multilocation trial lines obtained as many as 3 special rice lines and the variety of Inpari 19 which had a resistant or moderately resistant response to 4 races of P. oryzae. Abstract:
According to SAS No. 56, Analytical Procedures, the use of disaggregate, individual location data can improve the effectiveness of analytical procedures used in multilocation audits. Using a case-study approach, we investigate whether improvements in the accuracy and precision of account balance expectations can be obtained by using disaggregate, individual location data in a large, multilocation company. Specifically, we examine two issues: (1) whether the summation of individual location expectations generates more accurate and precise expectations of company-wide account balances than expectations based on company-wide data only and (2) whether the accuracy and precision of analytical procedures is enhanced by including peer location observations of the account balance in individual location expectation models. We find that for the multilocation company examined in this case study the summation of individual location account balance expectations is not more accurate or precise than an expectation derived from aggregate models unless the individual location models include peer location observations of the account balance. When the individual location models include the same account observations from other peer locations within the company, the company-wide account balance expectations developed from disaggregate models are more accurate and precise (less variable) than expectations developed using aggregate, company-wide data only. The results from this case study indicate that when auditors are generating expectations of company-wide balances, disaggregate models incorporating peer location account observations provide account balance expectations that are both more accurate and more precise than company-wide, aggregate models. Given the limitations of a case-study approach, future research should be directed at establishing the generalizability of these findings.

Abstract:
Zephyranthes spp. (Rain lily) are priced ornamentals known for their brightly coloured flowers that gently naturalize the surroundings. They contain rich sources of alkaloids that are well known for their pharmacological activities. Breeding work in rain lily is extensively difficult; it is performed to add value as ornamentals. The present study was undertaken to identify and develop three novel variants of Zephyranthes- Z. rosea, Z. citrina, Z. candida through multilocation assessment. Initial field trial was conducted with fifteen germplasm for each species during spring 2018, 2019 and identified one lines for each species- RRL-PRL-05 (Z. rosea), RRL-YRL-02 (Z. candida) and RRL-WRL-27 (Z. citrina). RRL-PRL-05 with bright pink flowers and flat, broad leaves; RRL-YRL-02 showed bright yellow flowers with flat narrow leaves while RRL-WRL-27 showed white flowers with fine hairlike leaves. Multilocation study conducted for two consecutive years showed the identified lines to be stable for quantitative characters and colour combinations. Bangladesh J. Bot. 53(2): 265-271, 2024 (June)

Abstract:
Abstract Ciherang is the most extensively planted rice variety in the Indonesia. Ciherang was released as a rice variety in 2000 and successfully replaced IR 64 as the most dominant variety. The wide adoption of Ciherang is because of its acceptable to farmers’ preferences including high yield, resistance to major diseases and good grain quality. Recently, Ciherang become vulnerable to pest and diseases and get low yield due to more occurrence the abiotic stress. The Rice breeding program to develop the Ciherang reborn has been conducted in Indonesian Center for Rice Research. The research aimed to select lines based on yield, morphological performance, and resistant to main pest and diseases for next evaluation of a multilocation yield trial for releasing variety. The materials used were 56 rice genotypes that evaluated yield, agronomic characters, and evaluated to brown planthopper and bacterial left blight. Ten promising lines was selected, derivative from Ciherang or similar ideotype with Ciherang, high yielding, more resistant to main pest and diseases than Ciherang. These promising lines was evaluated in multilocation yield trials for releasing variety.

Abstract:
Multivariate cluster and canonical variate analyses were undertaken for 10 genotypes of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) that were tested in a four-times replicated randomized block design across 18 environments (six localities by 3 years) of Ethiopia. The main aims of this study were to determine the similarities and differences of the genotypes and their testing environments, and to compare applicability of the two statistical methods. Cluster analysis grouped the genotypes into five classes in accordance with their original sources. The six locations and 18 environments were stratified into four and seven clusters, respectively. Three sites (Bekoji, Kulumsa and Sinana) were separately stratified, while three other ones (Holetta, Asasa and Adet) showed closer similarity. Canonical variate analysis indicated that ‘D33C’ and ‘D24C’ were distinguished from the other genotypes by their high oil contents. ‘N10D’ and ‘Norlin’ had closer values and were thus preferred for their good seed yield and earliness. Days to flowering and maturity, oil contents and lodging per cent played major roles in discriminating the genotypes. Comparison of the two methods showed clearer differentiation by cluster analysis than canonical variate analysis. Canonical variate analysis also contributed information on how each variable discriminated the genotypes and their test environments. Thus, both methods complement each other in providing useful information for more efficient variety development programmes.

Abstract:
Abstract Melon plants (Cucumis melo L) are horticultural commodities cultivated in Indonesia. This study aims to describe five oriental melon genotypes in Tasikmalaya (500 meters above sea level) as a multilocation test. The research was carried out from December 2023 to February 2024. Multilocation testing is one of the stages of plant breeding before the release of new superior varieties. The genetic material used in this research is Ginsen Makuwauri; F1 MM 0201-02; Ougan Makuwauri; F1 MM 0102-16; and Golden Langkawi (comparison variety). This research design used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments and three replications to obtain 15 experimental units. Observation of research data uses the standards of the International Union for the Protection of Plants (UPOV), the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI), and the Decree of the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture. Data were analyzed using the F-test and continued with a LSD test at the 5% level. The results showed that there was a diversity of quantitative and qualitative characteristics from all the genotypes tested. Based on the diversity of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the five genotypes tested, three superior genotypes were selected, namely F1 MM 0201-02; F1 MM0102-16; and Ougan Makuwauri. Genotype F1 MM 0201-02 has superior quantitative characters in the parameters of internode length (7.33 cm), fruit weight per plant (151.28 g), fruit length (9.21 cm), fruit width (5.30 cm), and the fruit flesh is thicker (1.17 cm) than the comparison variety.

Abstract:
The use of genetically resistant maize hybrids is the preferred means of control of gray leaf spot, caused by Cercospora zeae-maydis. One problem faced by maize breeders attempting to breed for resistance to gray leaf spot is the high degree of genotype-environment interactions observed in disease trials. In North Carolina gray leaf spot trials conducted at four locations in the western part of the state, we found consistent hybrid-location interactions over the 1995 and 1996 growing seasons. Isolates of C. zeae-maydis from those test locations were evaluated on the same hybrids used in the multilocation testing at a location in central North Carolina that does not have a history of gray leaf spot. The hybrid-isolate interactions observed in the isolate trial mirrored the hybrid-location effects seen in the multilocation testing. Most of the interactions arose from changes in the magnitude of differences between hybrids when inoculated with the isolates rather than from any change in hybrid ranking. Analysis of internal transcribed spacer-restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs) and mitochondrial rDNA RFLPs of those isolates and others revealed that both type I and type II sibling species of C. zeae-maydis, as well as C. sorghi var. maydis, are isolated from typical gray leaf spot lesions. Breeders should use the most aggressive isolates of C. zeae-maydis to maximize discrimination between genotypes in gray leaf spot trials.

Abstract:
It is well known that medieval thinkers have often discussed philosophical topics in the context of theological w ritings. Following this practice, Francis of Marchia examined questions related to physics in his Commentary of the IV Book of the Sentences, in which his famous Impetus theory can be found. In this work, he examined other questions related to the philosophy of nature, and, more specifically, he developed the topic of the multilocation of bodies, under stoodas the possibility that a sing le body occupies various places simultaneously. This contribution is aimed at offering a first analysis of the solution of Francis of Marchia to this question. Through a very subtle argumentation, Francis defends the pos sibility of multilocation of physical bodies, thus going beyond the rules of the Aristotelian physics.

The demand for madura tobacco as the main raw mateial also increases. To improve its quality and to reduce its nicotine content, madura tobacco was crossed to oriental tobacco. Nine promising lines were produced and tested at multilocation together with Prancak-95 as a control. The multilocation tests were conducted in 2002 in (1) Palalang 1 and (2) Bajang, Pakong Distict, Pamekasan Regency, and in (3) Guluk-guluk, Guluk-guluk Distict, Sumenep Regency. In 2003 the tests were continued in (1) Palalang 2, Pakong District, Pamekasan Regency ; (2) Bakeong and (3) Por-dapor, Guluk-guluk District, Sumenep Regency. The tests in each location used a randomized block design with three replications. Data collected from all tests were analyzed using MSTAT Program. Anova was itted to model for 2 year tests, each year the location was changed. F.bcrhart and Russell method (1966) was used for stability analysis. There was no interaction between genotype and the year as well as the location. The tobacco lines that had lower nicotine content than Prancak-95 were 90/1 (2%) and 93/2 (1.76%). Their nicotine contents were lower than that of Prancak 95 by 13% and 24% respectively. The two lines were stable and broad adapted. Line 93/2 had yield potency 0.892 ton/ha higher by 1 1% than that of Pancak-95, while the yield potency of line 90/1 was 0.798 ton/ha.

Key words: Tobacco, madura tobacco, multilocation test, low nicotine, Madur
