Abstract:
In the multimedia communication networks providing quality of service (QoS), an interface between the signal processing systems and the communication systems is the call admission control (CAC) mechanism. Owing to the heterogeneous traffic produced by diverse signal processing systems in a multimedia communication network, the traditional CAC mechanism that used only one CAC algorithm can no longer satisfy the aim of QoS CAC: Utilize the network resource to the most best and still satisfy the QoS requirements of all connections. For satisfying the aim of QoS CAC in the multimedia communication networks, this study proposed an innovative CAC mechanism called black and white CAC (B&W CAC), which uses two CAC algorithms. One of them is called black CAC controller and is used for the traffic with specifications more uncertain, which is called black traffic here. The other is call white CAC controller and is for the traffic with clearer specifications, which is call white traffic. Because white traffic is simple, an equivalent bandwidth CAC is taken as the white CAC. On the other hand, a neural network CAC (NNCAC) is employed to be the black CAC to overcome the uncertainty of black traffic. Furthermore, owing to more parameters needed in a QoS CAC mechanism, a hierarchical NNCAC is proposed instead of the common used NNCAC. Besides to accommodate more parameters, a hierarchical NNCAC can keep the complexity low. The simulation results show the B&W CAC can obtain higher utilization and still meet the QoS requirements of traffic sources.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is multiservice communication network using the concept NGN (Next Generation Network) based on the open network architecture IMS (Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem), supporting a wide range services. The basis of this architecture is the IMS core, consisting of a set of specialized modules responsible for various functions for customer service. The purpose of the article is to analyze the existing technical capabilities of the IMS multimedia messaging subsystem and perspective solutions for the functioning of the NGN/IMS network efficiency in providing multimedia service. As the efficiency of the system, the capacity NGN/IMS networks is selected using the signaling system and protocols NGN. The capacity NGN/IMS networks during the establishment of a multimedia session was analyzed and the functional architecture of the IMS multimedia messaging subsystem that determine the interaction NGN signaling systems an protocols was explored. Manage the presentation Triple Play services to subscribers and simultaneously modify the media stream within the session allows the protocol for the initialization of the SIP and Diameter sessions, which are the main IMS signaling protocol. One of the important requirements for the IMS subsystem is the maintenance QoS (Quality of Service). A mathematical model for estimating the quality of communication services using a system GI/G/1/N based on the theory diffusion approximation is proposed. The research presented in this paper is very important for the theory queuing systems, since the article proposes a method for investigating multiservice communication networks with non-Poisson incoming flow and effective results are obtained for NGN/IMS networks. On the basis of the model analytical expressions are obtained, which allow evaluating the performance indicators of the Triple Play service. The proposed mathematical model can be used to solve a wide range of practical problems, including the management multiservice traffic in the process its transmission in multiservice telecommunications networks, taking into account the quality of service classes. Thus, studies NGN/IMS network capacity indicators using SIP protocols are relevant.

Abstract:
In the context of the rapid development of wireless communication and information technology, the network has greatly shortened the actual spatial distances around the world. Multimedia technology and wireless communication, as an important branch of information technology, can better connect people and the network, exploding very powerful energy in the field of education. This research analyzes the cultural communication function of wireless communication and multimedia network technology in university teaching, especially English teaching. At this stage, almost all universities in our country are using multimedia technology to assist teaching, and even many teachers believe that multimedia has become a necessary foundation for the in-depth development of the “teaching-learning” interaction in colleges and universities in the information age. The demand for English talents in the Chinese labor market is dominated by application-oriented talents, but the purpose of English teaching in many schools is still in the reality of traditional research-based teaching. It is concluded that the root of this contradiction lies in the disconnection between the cultivation of talents in universities and the needs of society. The experimental results show that if the advantages of wireless communication and multimedia network technology can be fully utilized, the teaching efficiency of cultural communication in college English teaching can be increased by 22%. This article also analyzes, discusses, and summarizes the methods and approaches of cultural dissemination to enrich academic research results.

Abstract:
A lot of intensive research has been carried out in the direction of providing multimedia communication over wireless mobile ad hoc network (MANET). In MANET, various QoS problems exist such as inefficient routing, handling node mobility, power conservation, limited processing capabilities of network devices, high error rates. Wireless routing introduces new challenges as applying basic routing algorithms directly on MANET could lead to large power consumption, interference, and load-balancing problems. Many routing algorithms have been proposed as extensions to the basic routing algorithms to enhance their performance in MANETs. This paper summarizes existing solutions on QoS routing and resource reservation mechanisms in order to provide multimedia communication over MANET. It also considers the limitations of existing QoS models with regard to satisfying QoS in serving multimedia over MANET. The newest QoS architectures give much better results in providing QoS support. However, more refinements must be proposed in order to enhance further their performance in MANETs.

Abstract:
The last few decades have seen a tremendous growth of wireless networks demands due to the need to meet different multimedia applications available over the network. The demand has resulted into greater competition for the scarce available network resources and has introduced congestion in such networks that adversely affect the quality of service requirements of the applications. Call admission control is a key element if provision of quality of service in wireless networks is to be guaranteed. In this paper, a call admission control policy for wireless communication networks based on the use of dynamic threshold-based channel allocation scheme is proposed. The scheme deals with two traffic classes; voice and data with two different but equal channel thresholds, one for each traffic type assumed. The effect of the control parameters on the quality of service parameters is illustrated and analyzed.

The performance indicators corporate multi-service networks based on the architectural concept of the following Next Generation Network (NGN) and Future Networks (FN) using a number of innovative technologies are considered. A significant difference between such networks and previous generation networks is that the architecture of future networks is based on technologies software defined networks, virtualization network functions and the multimedia communications subsystem. As a criterion for complex performance indicators corporate multiservice networks, we selected throughput, the coefficient effective use hardware and software systems, various resources, and probability-time characteristics. As a result of the study, a method for calculating the complex throughput indicators corporate multiservice networks based on the architectural concept NGN and FN using SDN (Software Defined Networking), NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) and IMS (Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem) technologies is proposed. Th essence of the new method is to find relationships with which you can calculate the maximum throughput of the communication network and the areas feasible solutions of the basic equation that belong to it. System and technical analysis showed that the transmitted heterogeneous traffic has a special structure – self-similarity properties (scale invariance) and a quantitative assessment of the degree traffic self-similarity using the Hurst parameter. Based on the proposed calculation method, the complex indicators of corporate multiservice networks are examined taking into account the parameters traffic self-similarity, QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience). Resource management methods in network nodes were studied to improve the throughput characteristics taking into account the numerous QoS & QoE parameters and the coefficient effective use hardware and software systems was determined. Based on the calculation method, analytical expressions have been obtained to evaluate the complex indicators corporate multiservice networks in establishing connections and in providing multimedia services with the necessary parameters. A numerical analysis is carried out and a graphical dependence of the maximum network throughput on the total number software and hardware systems is constructed for a given system load factor.

Abstract:
The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a multimedia signalling protocol that has evolved into a widely adopted communication standard. The integration of SIP into existing IP networks has fostered IP networks becoming a convergence platform for both real-time and non-real-time multimedia communications. This converged platform integrates data, voice, video, presence, messaging, and conference services into a single network that offers new communication experiences for users. The open source community has contributed to SIP adoption through the development of open source software for both SIP clients and servers. In this paper, we provide a survey on open SIP systems that can be built using publically available software. We identify SIP features for service development and programming, services and applications of a SIP-converged platform, and the most important technologies supporting SIP functionalities. We propose an advanced converged IP communication platform that uses SIP for service delivery. The platform supports audio and video calls, along with media services such as audio conferences, voicemail, presence, and instant messaging. Using SIP Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), the platform allows the deployment of advanced integrated services. The platform is implemented with open source software. Architecture components run on standardized hardware with no need for special purpose investments.

Abstract:
Mobility, redundancy, and bandwidth requirements are transforming the communication models used for IoT, mainly in case of Critical Communications and multimedia streaming (“IoMT, Internet of Multimedia Things”), as wireless video traffic is expected to be 60–75% of the global mobile traffic by 2020. One of the characteristics of 5G networks will be the proliferation of different/heterogeneous radio networks (virtualized radio access networks, RAN, new energy-efficient radios, femtocells, and offloading capabilities) and the possibility for IoT objects to connect and load-balance between dual and multiple RANs. This paper focuses on the possibility of using LISP (Locator Identifier Separation Protocol) for multihoming and load-balancing purposes and presents an illustrative scenario for the case of mobile IoT (e.g., the “things” part of vehicular or public transportation systems, PTS) that are also intensive bandwidth consumers, like the case of connected multimedia “things.” We have implemented and tested a demonstrator of a mobile LISP IoT gateway that is also integrated with Cloud-based video analytics.

Abstract:
Due to the varieties of services and the openness of network architectures, great challenges for information security of the 5G systems are posed. Although there exist various and heterogeneous security communication mechanisms, it is imperative to develop a more general and more ubiquitous authentication method for data security. In this paper, we propose for the 5G networks a novel multimedia authentication framework, which is based upon the trusted content representation (TCR). The framework is general and suitable for various multimedia contents, e.g., text, audio, and video. The generality of the framework is achieved by the TCR technique, which authenticates the contents’ semantics in both high and low levels. Analysis shows that the authentication framework is able to authenticate multimedia contents effectively in terms of active and passive authenticating ways.

Abstract:
Multicast communication plays a pivotal role in Edge based Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). MANETs can provide low-cost self-configuring devices for multimedia data communication that can be used in military battlefield, disaster management, connected living, and public safety networks. A Multicast communication should increase the network performance by decreasing the bandwidth consumption, battery power, and routing overhead. In recent years, a number of multicast routing protocols (MRPs) have been proposed to resolve above listed challenges. Some of them are used for dynamic establishment of reliable route for multimedia data communication. This article provides a detailed survey of the merits and demerits of the recently developed techniques. An ample study of various Quality of Service (QoS) techniques and enhancement is also presented. Later, mesh topology-based MRPs are classified according to enhancement in routing mechanism and QoS modification. This article covers the most recent, robust, and reliable QoS-aware mesh based MRPs, classified on the basis of their operational features, and pros and cons. Finally, a comparative study has been presented on the basis of their performance parameters on the proposed protocols.

Abstract:
This paper discusses a group communication protocol to exchange multimedia messages in a group of multiple peer processes. Quality of Service (QoS) required by an application has to be supported. In traditional protocols like RTP, a process can reliably deliver messages to one or more than one process. In the group communication, each process sends a message to multiple processes while receiving messages from multiple processes in a group. Due to the limited computation and communication capacity, we cannot adopt traditional one-to-one or one-to-many transmission ways to the group communication. We propose a notification-based data transmission procedure to exchange multimedia messages among multiple processes so as to satisfy QoS requirement.

Abstract:
To better meet the needs of economic restructuring and industrial development in China, educators in vocational colleges have to find new approaches to narrow the gaps between the updated requirements from the employers for business English majors and the vocational college education reality. Under this circumstance, a tentative study was carried out with the aids of multimedia to help the educators remove obstacles blocking achieving their educational aim, which is cultivating the graduates who are qualified for the social requirement. This study mainly discussed how effective the multimedia networks can help the business English majors in vocational colleges to enrich their work experience and enhance their practical English ability, computer skills, communication skills, and cooperation skills comprehensively. It aimed at exploring the ways of helping the business English majors in vocational colleges to gain work experience and improve their practical English skills, computer skills, communication skills, and cooperation skills with the aid of multimedia networks. An experimental teaching program was designed under the guidelines of a task-based teaching approach and constructive learning theory. The program includes four teaching models, which are in-class learning and field preparation, mock practice, in-field learning and field education, and learning reflection. All learning and field practices are delivered online facilitated by multimedia networks. One hundred and forty sophomores majoring in business English are selected as participants of the program. Data of students’ confidence in all five monitored essential abilities are collected before and after the learning procedure through questionnaires, and students’ feedbacks are collected through interviews. The statistical results show that multimedia networks can help students improve their overall competence, especially in gaining work experience and practical English skills. Moreover, adopting multimedia networks in teaching can provide more internship opportunities, enrich teaching scenarios, and prolong net teaching hours, which forms a preferred learning environment and provides better learning outcomes. It could also be used to assist communication and cooperation trainings.
