This work constituted a significant contribution for more efficient use of a valuable computer program of non-parametric fitting of nonlinear multiparametric equations to experimental data. However, prerequisite in this context was the transformation of nonlinear multiparametric equations into linear hyperplane forms before their incorporation within the computer program; this latter was decisive and a matter of proper programming practice. Herein, a series of widely used equations useful in different fields of chemical processes, in biochemistry and/or in biotechnology, along with their suita

In this work, a methodology for fault detection in wastewater treatment systems, based on parameter estimation, using multiparametric programming is presented. The main idea is to detect faults by estimating model parameters, and monitoring the changes in residuals of model parameters. In the proposed methodology, a nonlinear dynamic model of wastewater treatment was discretized to algebraic equations using Euler’s method. A parameter estimation problem was then formulated and transformed into a square system of parametric nonlinear algebraic equations by writing the optimality conditions. The

In spaces of arbitrary dimensions, hyperbolic differential–difference equations with potentials undergoing translations along arbitrary spatial directions are investigated. The fundamental novelty of this study is that, unlike previous investigations, no restrictions are imposed on the symbol of the differential–difference operator contained in the equation. For the investigated equation, we succeed to explicitly construct a multiparametric family of classical global solutions.

Free vibration analysis of the porous functionally graded circular plates has been presented on the basis of classical plate theory. The three defined coupled equations of motion of the porous functionally graded circular/annular plate were decoupled to one differential equation of free transverse vibrations of plate. The one universal general solution was obtained as a linear combination of the multiparametric special functions for the functionally graded circular and annular plates with even and uneven porosity distributions. A technique based on multiple auxiliary equations is used to investigate the traveling wave solutions of the Bullough–Dodd (BD) model of the scalar field. We place the model in a flat and homogeneous space, considering a symmetry reduction to a 2D-nonlinear equation. It is solved through this refined version of the auxiliary equation technique, and multiparametric solutions are found. The key idea is that the general elliptic equation, considered here as an auxiliary equation, degenerates under some special conditions into subequations involving fewer parameters. Using these subequations, we s

An exhaustive analysis of local and global bifurcations in an enzyme-catalyzed reaction model is carried out. The model, given by a planar five-parameter system of autonomous ordinary differential equations, presents a great richness of bifurcations. This enzyme-catalyzed model has been considered previously by several authors, but they only detected a minimal part of the dynamical and bifurcation behavior exhibited by the system. First, we study local bifurcations of equilibria up to codimension-three (saddle-node, cusps, nondegenerate and degenerate Hopf bifurcations, and nondegenerate and d

In this paper, a novel adaptive diagnosis scheme is proposed for multiparametric faults of nonlinear systems by using the model and intelligent optimization-based approaches. The key idea of the proposed method is to analyze the correlation of the output signals between the real system and the fault identification system instead of residual. A new adaptive scheme is built based on an adaptive observer and differential evolution algorithm. Meanwhile, the conditions of detectability and identifiability of faults are analyzed.
